Animal Crossing fans! What's your theory for Switch release?

What’s your opinion? When do you think we will see an announcement? What do you think the release date might be? What do you want to see in the next installment, or what do you want to see changed or removed?

Personally, I’ve seen a couple of videos about release dates, and I agree with this video. There is already a lot going on at E3 this year, there’s no more room for a big announcement like Animal Crossing.

I do, however, hope & think we will see it soon - check out this video. He makes some great points as to why we will/should see an announcement soon, although I don’t agree with his timeframe. They wouldn’t release it so soon after announcing it. When I was waiting for New Leaf, I counted the days down on my calendar - over 100 days written!

As for my poll, with the poll going over a 2020 release - I really don't think we will have to wait that long. The timeframe is barely right - there were two years between the Wii release & City Folk, and two years between the 3DS release and New Leaf, so a two year release date brings us only to 2019.

Finally, I’m sure most have you have seen this: The “Animal Crossing Globetrotter” leak. Definitely fake, but it makes you think, or at least it makes you feel excited. There’s an analysis here on YouTube.

We are definitely getting closer to an inevitable Animal Crossing release for Switch! I wanna see other videos and theories/speculations so totally share them here! (I've been meaning to look up more on YouTube anyway.) :)

I don't think AC is going to feature at E3 2018. It might show up in a little teaser shot at the end of the last day or something else like that, just to get people excited, like that tiny clip of Smash Bros...that lasted what, ten seconds?...in the Nintendo Direct a month or two ago...but unless the game is either coming out late 2018 or early 2019, I don't expect to see more than a teaser at E3 2018. I feel like, if they actually feature AC in any significant way, that means they'll be releasing it within about a half year. Which I don't think is impossible, but given how likely it is that this E3 is going to be a Smash-fest...

I've been guessing a 2019 summer release, so sometime Q3, though Q4 is just as likely. I do think there's a pretty good chance it'll be out in 2019, anyway. People are going to be out for blood by 2020. Excitement is very high right now for it and I would actually begin to LOSE some of my interest if I didn't see a release in 2019. I think we're getting Smash Bros this year and possibly Pokemon and/or Fire Emblem. Next year, Animal Crossing. That's my feeling for it, anyway, but it's not based on much except how things have been going so far.

That said, my words will be downright tasty if I have to eat them and it DOES show up in a significant way this E3.

I totally agree with you on everything. I feel like it would be so messed up of them to do a teaser only though! Like feature it next year more and not at all this year. The first video I posted was kind of exactly how you & I feel - too much going on at E3 already, especially with the Direct the other month.

I do hope that if they feature it, it will release in half a year... I couldn't stand to wait any longer!!

I loooooove Amiibo Festival, but if there are any more spinoffs before another main series game, I'm rioting at Nintendo headquarters.

I voted this year announcement, next year release. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they don't announce it until next year.

I agree with you there. I don't think it would be far off from there, but yeah, no surprise if it's not announced at all this year. However, it's only April. I doubt it will be announced at E3, but I'm counting on an Animal Crossing Direct - maybe in fall?

So the Nintendo Switch is now an item you can get in Pocket Camp. You will soon even be able to get Switch-themed fortune cookies. (I want one in real life. Maybe I should try making one out of paper.) Nintendo sure does like to tease. And they redid their animal crossing site recently. It doesn't have anything Switch on it, but...

The more they tease, the harder it is to feel certain. I just don't feel like AC can be fit into this year's E3, unless they don't announce any other major games other than Smash.

So many games I want are already coming out this year, though...IRL late spring through early autumn is my busy season...I don't even have TIME for Animal Crossing right now. Whatever year it comes out, I hope it doesn't come out in summer. I don't have extra time, then, and it would be wasting precious no-snow days to spend much of it on gaming.

Animal Crossing would be perfect for E3.

With Amiibo Festival they already have all the assets they could need for an HD Animal Crossing, and chances are they were making one for the WiiU before that ship sank, so we will probably get one sooner than later.

I agree that there's a chance they were making an Animal Crossing for the WiiU. And this wouldn't be a bad year for announcement at least. Keep the hype going even more for the Switch. ...Also I really want a new AC sooner than later lol

I'm not sure if this was in one of the videos I posted or a different video, but somebody had mentioned that Splatoon 2 was finished & released early, and Splatoon & Animal Crossing are made by the same team, so they certainly have the time...!

I didn't know Splatoon and AC were made by the same team. If there is an AC in the works who knows how long they've been working on it.
