Honestly, as far as M rated games go it's pretty tame on the gore. There is violence
Spoiler:
via combat as heads explode, limbs come flying off, enemies/npcs cry out in pain if hit with acid or fire, etc.

but it's more so cartoonish than a lot of M games I've played and a lot of the fighting can be avoided if you choose right/wrong + speech/stealth enhances.
The game can get pretty morbid/dark, but it's kind of in a tongue in cheek kind of (dark) humor most of the time.

However, do note I probably have a much higher gore/violence tolerance threshold; so I'd recommend looking up some gameplay videos. You can generally get by with minimum violence in the gane if you choose, but better safe than sorry.

But honestly, it's pretty tame violence wise, imo.
Hmm...okay. Thanks. :) I always have an issue with gore, especially if it's coming out of humans (less so if it's monsters, but even then, if it's really graphic...) If I can chose a course that allows me to avoid it, that's good, but if I find myself seriously considering it once it releases, I'll check a video.

I still want AI: The Somnium Files. I know it'd bother me, yet I still want it. :/

Just saw this.
Can't afford a new Switch but...do want. It's so pretty!! The patterns, the pastel! The case is sold separately, so maybe that's worth a splurge. :)

I saw it yesterday evening and was so relived that I didn't like it, lol. (I hate the way pastels look with black, so the black rim on the screen and the black buttons and sticks ruin the look of the pastels, for me.) I'd have been awfully tempted if it actually suited me. Like if they'd somehow made most of the black parts brown or sand-coloured.

Plus my Switch is already covered in BotW Sheikah patterns...dock and joy-cons, all, and actually looks good in my room with the browns and golds. White and pale green and pale blue wouldn't go at all. Whew! Saved me so much money, lol. Especially since it costs more than a regular Switch and doesn't even have the game included unless you're ordering from Europe. :/

Cute option for folks who don't already have a Switch, for sure, though. :) I'm happy to see that the eshop listing has been updated, too. They used to have handheld mode and tabletop mode crossed out under the 'supported play modes', but now they're showing that those modes are supported. I always found it weird that they were crossed out...

Unfortunately, only one island per Switch (so, shared by all eight profiles) has been reconfirmed. I never felt this was in doubt but apparently some people didn't believe it, but it's been restated very clearly now, that you can only have one town per Switch, regardless of how many copies you own.

Boo. It's not new news, but it still stinks. I would have bought an extra copy of the game later on, if it let me have a second island. But at least I have a Switch to myself and won't have to share the one island I DO get. At least the cloud saving issue seems to be in limbo rather than absolute, as whether the game supports cloud saving is listed as 'pending'.

~

EDIT: If you really like the look of the AC Switch (lol?) you can get most of it by ordering the joy-cons and/or the dock from Japan, since each can be purchased separately.

~

EDIT 2: Wanderlust: Travel Stories is a game that caught my attention before, and apparently it's going to hit the Switch e-shop in February. Not a day one buy for me, but I'll be putting it on my wishlist for the next time I have a gap in gaming.

Yep, just pre-ordered the AC Switch console. Whether or not I keep it is another matter, but I have it secured for now lol.

Okay, I'm not actually a huge Pokemon fan, but...Nintendo put up a reward for 30 silver coins that I really couldn't resist. It's a set of 6 cards that you can print out yourself (it'd be ideal on light-medium white cardstock) that look like ink and watercolour paintings. All you've gotta do is print one, fold it in half, and you've got yourself a very cute card that has a Pokemon (Mystery Dungeon) + correspondence theme.

You can get the download here.

EDIT: An advert for AC:NH from Taiwan showed stairs and brick paths! I hope it's not just artwork...more path options other than dirt has been my biggest request since we found out that paths were a build-in feature!

EDIT 2: Youse guys, youse guys! AC:NH news is really starting to dribble out now...I guess we're close enough, having commercials and stuff come out, that it's inevitable. But because we've only seen ONE identical island map every time the game has been shown, or in any screenshots, people were speculating that everyone gets the same map, that map choice wouldn't be an option in this iteration. We now have proof to the contrary! The commercial Nintendo made of New Horizons being played on the Switch Lite shows a different map than the one we've seen up until now. :D (I figured this would be the case, but even so, I was still a bit worried since being able to choose my map is a big deal, to me.)

Hero Must Die, Again is out on February 27th! I'm honestly looking forward to playing this one (once I get the chance). Oreshika Tainted Bloodlines will forever be a favorite of mine and I'm eager to play the creator's other works.

I checked this thread back 3 months and it wasn't mentioned in this time, so I'm gonna assume it hasn't been.

I'm not really a fan of Professor Layton, myself, but...I think there are fans, here? Anyway I saw a game that is coming to pretty much all consoles (and PC, iOS, Android) soon that has a very different look, but has been described as Layton-like in gameplay/adventure.

The Academy is due out soonish...this spring.

NEXT DAY EDIT: Trials of Mana appears to be getting a demo.

January 14th Edit: House Flipper is going to PS4 on the 25th and Xbone on the 2th. That's about all that needs said...the article includes a small video. I'm totally interested, though I won't buy on release since my copy of RF4S is due to arrive on release day (Feb 25th!) too.

Oh!!!

https://www.siliconera.com/katana-kami- ... y-20-2020/

Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story is releasing next week in Japan AND the West! I had my eye on this one, so it's nice to see it's not only coming over, but so soon! It's been a loooong while since I've sunk my teeth into a good samurai game, so I hope this one doesn't disappoint!

Edit:AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

https://www.gematsu.com/2020/02/sakura- ... n-the-west

We've gotten a date for Sakura Wars!!!!! This is 100% a day one purchase for me! I wasn't even thinking about it coming out soon, so I had thought it a late 2020 release. No complaints here! I can't wait!

Edit2: IS IT MY SPECIAL DAY OR SOMETHING???

https://www.gematsu.com/2020/02/utaware ... -in-europe

Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen is out on May 26th! Now I can finally play the whole trilogy!

Wow, this is all but one game I'm waiting on announced all at once. Who wants to bet we'll get some Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive new soon? XD

Animal Crossing Direct...25 glorious minutes long...on the 20th! It's a pretty good time for me but I feel bad for folks on the west coast, this time around. Though I would have been just as happy with a regular direct that had a few minute of AC:NH news in it, since I want other game news than just AC. But admittedly, AC is the most on my mind, right now...

ACNL is going to have an official guidebook. That's probably a purchase for me, when available in Canada. I had one before and liked using it, though mostly for looking up items. I kind of used it like a wishlist.

EDIT: Forgot to add that the existence of this guidebook also officially confirms that there will be a museum and more shops. I'm sure we all knew this had to be the case, even though no one yet knows how/when a museum will come into play on a (previously) deserted island. But it'll be there one way or another! I'm really curious if we can build things wherever we want, or if they'll have to go in a designated area. And if we have any control at all on how they look.
