New and tentative game announcements
Omg. I can't talk details because not everyone could watch the presentation live, and I don't want to spoil any reveals for them. But let's just say that my #1 wish in Animal Crossing all this time has been to be able to build myself a more unique town (or island, in this case.) And boy oh boy...are they giving us the ability to customize in spades, this time! There's one huge feature that I sort of asked for in my 'dream wishlist' of AC features, but I considered it outrageous...and they're giving it to us!
That presentation was amazing. I won't say more for risk of referencing anything specific, but wow. Soooo happy with everything I saw!
IF anyone missed seeing the AC Direct and wants to avoid spoilery thumbnails from places like YouTube, Nintendo already has it in their direct archive, HERE. THere was just NOTHING disappointing about that. Not for me, anyway!

June and Willow at least will be headed to my island as soon as I can get them there
(My favourite 'normal' and my favourite 'snooty'.) Ribbot, too. (My favourite jock.)
If anyone wants to see an awesome customization feature I really never thought they'd include, you can watch the short looped video in the Tweet I've stuck in this spoiler. Do not open the spoiler if you didn't watch the AC Direct and are wanting to watch the whole thing yourself without any feature reveal spoilers!

If anyone wants to make a thread specifically for AC and all the reveals (there were quite a lot of things!), please go ahead and do so. I don't want to overwhelm this thread with pages of talk about one game, but I don't know how much more demand there will be for AC-specific discussion.
I keep having to hold my flailing in. There were so many gorgeous things going on...
Visiting other people's islands is going to be so much more fun than it was in New Leaf.

I'm really liking the UI this time around. Feels sort of...Mario Maker for whatever reason.
Very glad they're implementing friend 'levels' for visitors too. I'd love to go see a bunch of other designs as the months roll on.
The only thing that left me...??? was the "free updates" bit? I'm hoping that's sort of...hyperbole? Or maybe it was just phrased poorly. Like a 'free update' you can pick from inside the game. It's sort of weird to have holidays that have been in every game in the series considered "free updates".
I still have a bunch of questions, but I think we're guaranteed a good game no matter the answer at least.
Edit: Interesting thought: maybe tying holidays to updates is an anti-piracy measure?? I dunno why it would prevent THAT much but I guess people with hacked Switches won't be able to get the full experience?

Ah, Animal Crossing direct! I won't say much since I'm on my phone, but WOW! This game is gonna be Ah-Mazing! I'm genuinely amazed by the amount of customization power we'll be given. So glad I just happened to book my vacation for the first week it's out.
I'm currently playing Wild World to hold me over. Might retire it the week before, y'know, to not burn out on Animal Crossing.
Spoiler:
I think we're already getting pretty spoilery if anyone came here without watching the Direct first, so I don't know if there's a point to this, but I'll use a tag anyway, just in case...
I'm over-excited, now. I need to do something super calming. Time for tea and one of Enya's sleepier tunes. I've been up since 3AM and am a bit crampy and could seriously use a nap, but now my head is buzzing. I'll be okay for a few more weeks but once we're within a week of release, I'm going to have to run out and build a new backyard deck by hand, I think, to keep myself from running up and down the walls.
I hope that Nook app thing works on tablet, as I do not own a cell phone.

The more I write the more questions I have!
I know they keep emphasizing how many people can live on the island, but have they ever mentioned a villager limit?
Maybe that would give away how big the islands are. Especially if they intend on adding options to expand somehow.
Spoiler-leaning stuff...

Yes, villager limit! That's something I've been curious about for awhile now. Not to sound greedy, but even ten in New Leaf didn't seem like enough. I'd be happy with twelve, but 15/16 (or more) would be amazing! Not gonna get too cocky, though. With the amount of stuff to do, having too many villagers could be a bit too much to add to the juggle.

So, here are two visual novels for Steam, releasing this year that sound really interesting.
1) ATRI - My Dear Moments
2) Adabana Odd Tales
They're both able to be wish-listed on Steam at the moment, too. And they look rally cool.

Supposedly the Final Fantasy VII remake DEMO is out now, but I can't find it anywhere. Maybe it's not rolled out in my region, yet.
EDIT: Oh, okay. I tried this once already and it didn't work, but the second time it did send it to my PS4. You have to access the demo on the store on your laptop/etc and SEND the download to your PS4...it doesn't appear to be on the Playstation Store on your PS4 itself. Or that's what I had to do, anyway, though I don't get it! But anyway, you can get it from this location. Naturally, you have to be signed in to your account. I don't know why it didn't work the first time I tried it, but it's downloading now, at least.
Also, save data does NOT carry over. And the demo is 7.554 GB. I'm not sure I'll be buying FFVIIR on release anyway, even if I love the demo...depends on how ridiculously I've been sucked in by Animal Crossing...that game may want to hog all of my gaming time for quite a while. I'm really not sure, yet! Still, free demo. Worth trying out, imo.
EDIT 2: Omg, Barrett is SO annoying. I hate him. I like everybody else, though. Jessie and Wedge are both sweet.

Code Realize: Future Blessings (a fandisc to Guardian of Rebirth) will be heading to the Switch on April 23rd. The price the article has listed ($60) is for the Limited Edition bundle. The game itself is just $40.
