SoS: FoMT will be out 'this summer'. Since Europe already announced their date as July 10, I'm betting ours is between July 7 and 9, but that's totally just my guess.
I have mixed feelings on this. It might be earlier or later than 10. If it's the latter, I might get it on AU eshop. I just can't wait long.

Trails of Cold Steel IV has been confirmed for localization!

I knew it wouldn't be too long into the year until they dropped an announcement.

That's great news, though I think we were all kinda expecting they'd come out with IV about a year after III. I wonder how likely they are to be able to keep that release date, considering that they'll probably have to be working alone from home for a few months, this year.
There's a
new little peek at Witchbrook, the magic-school game by the once-publisher (not developer!) of Stardew Valley. A link to the game's new, official website is also included in that article.

Was anyone able to pre-order SoS:FoMT on the US Amazon site? There's a page, but it says currently unavailable

I would be surprised if they already sold out of their preorders, but just in case anyone was able to order it, I just wanted to check.

SoS: FoMT isn't on amazon.ca at all yet, so I don't know, but release dates and shipments are all rather sketchy this year, so orders showing as unavailable or backordered or etc doesn't really seem too strange to me, right now.
Toshihiro Kondo...president of Falcom, the development company behind Ys and Legend of Heroes (Trails)...has now
outright stated that Ys IX (Montrum Nox) is headed west, though no other details were given. But they always say they have no plans, so for him to outright say it suggests that a localization announcement (most likely from NIS America) is imminent. I hope so! I loved Ys VIII.

Falcom probably gets a decent profit from the West with their games. More than ever there's a market for JRPGs, and they've got a good piece of the 'weeb pie', so to speak. With how much NISA localizes these days, I imagine they have at least two translations teams. Odds are we'll get a YSIX announcement closer to Cold Steel IV's release.

Pandemics certainly change everything... I placed a pre-order on Amazon a couple days ago, so it's at least available in the states for $49.99 if anyone is interested in pre-ordering.

I find this a little bit hilarious. Nintendo has updated the Switch to version 10.0, adding
several new functions...and
none of them are themes or folders, which users have been begging for since the Switch came out. 6 new animal crossing
icons, but no themes. The ability to move your game data around, from system memory to a card or vice-versa, but no folders.
Really makes me wonder how hard it could be, can it really actually be difficult to do? They already have the ability to shift the game from a white 'theme' to a black one, so implementing more themes, even just more colours, seems pretty simple. And folders is just about being able to organize all the games you have saved so that they're easier to sort through. Makes me wonder if Nintendo just loves to be a giant troll.
It is rather funny, in a facepalm kinda way.

Button mapping is cool, especially for certain games. Switching them around to be the original controls for the PSOne ports/remaster, or rhythm games that could benefit from other setups.
But yes, folders and themes would be nice. I hardly ever have more than 4 icons on my screen, but I know plenty who keep every icon of every game they own / have played and would benefit from the organization. Personally, I spent a lot of money on themes for both my Japanese 3DS and my NA one.
The Japanese theme store was so robust, getting everything from mascots, to vocaloid PVs, anime, idols - I could go on. It was a lot of fun scrolling and finding the weird and wacky ones. I had the Kary Pamyu Pamyu one on for aaaages.
NA theme shop was thin in comparison, but what was there was appreciated. Hopefully they do have it happen sooner than later, because I don't mind the sleek black, but I could also have a little flair here and there.

Themes would be so simple. I mean, they already added the black ages ago. Even them adding a rainbow of new plain colour options, without any design or images, would be great! Then maybe later they could add patterns or effects to their colours for 'fancier' themes. Like a checkered black and white, or a striped blue, or a sparkly red. Etc. Even if they don't add a Xenoblade or BotW (etc) theme, that'd still be a nice step. I don't know what keeps them from doing it when the cry for it has been so loud, pretty much since the Switch's inception.
Folders I don't know about, if it's complicated or not, but it's hard to imagine it being especially difficult, to at least allow folders in the library section, instead of having 50 icons to sort through. Or even if they don't allow us custom folders that we can control ourselves, the ability to sort by more categories, such as genre, would be nice. (They allow you to sort by total play time, last time played, title, and publisher. Personally I think sorting by publisher is a weird one, not sure I'd ever use that option.)

Technically it already has folders (well, one folder), so it would be just a matter of allowing us to make more and assign games to them.

I was VERY excited for button mapping. It's a baby step, but it's a step toward accessibility, which Nintendo has needed to take for...ever? (I mean consider people who NEED to use one joy-con being able to cram controls onto one of them! Incredible!)
On the themes front I definitely don't see why Nintendo wouldn't add more 'color' themes. Legitimate themes could be a pain to design, even if we're just considering resolution differences between handheld and TV. But colors should be a no brainer. Just...add a color wheel...Nintendo. Who cares.

OOOoooh. Xenoblade's 'Future Connected' extra story
takes place a year after the base game ends! (Even though apparently you can choose to play it from the beginning? I had guessed that's why the only characters you ever see in it are Shulk and Melia, but even so, it's a weird decision to make it accessible from the start, imo. Wonder if that was really true.)
You may have to be a Xenodork to care about a detail like that when there's no other info to go with it, but hey, I am what I am. I really wonder how 'connected' this story can possibly be without revealing massive spoilers, when it's playable whenever you want...
I'd much rather this new epilogue/story had been locked to game completion and had real continuity from the end and events throughout the game, but I'm betting it won't because of this set-up.
