Stranded Deep has a release date for XB1 and PS4, and it is...tomorrow.
It looks pretty interesting! I mean, I hate the ocean, on a near phobic level (probably not full blown phobia), but the game has a lot of features I'm into, like farming (HOW?), crafting, cooking, unlocking and leveling skills, building houses...lots of cool, interesting stuff, and the graphics are pretty nice. I'm gonna look into it, at least.
It's a BIG negative that it has no story or apparent point/main goal to it, though.

According to one Japanese gaming site,
Digimon Survive has been 'delayed indefinitely' for what to me sounds like a really stupid reason. (Because of the movie!) I guess it's probably true, but Bamco hasn't commented yet so further clarification is yet to come. But unfortunately it sounds like the game may have been scrapped or set way back for an overhaul.
Which if true, really sucks, since I liked the way it was shaping up and don't want them to change it due to some movie I've never seen and never will. :/
I don't know what the chance is that this isn't true, but I hope it isn't.

Huh. Interesting(?).
I had gotten a little lukewarm towards the game (not enough info trickling out to keep me excited), but this intrigues me. Seeing that the reboot anime is airing right now too, it could be marketing thing along with development hell. Time will tell.
EDIT: Just sorta stumbled onto this, and this may or may not really effect anyone here, but the artist of Collar X Malice (Mai Hanamura) has been under fire lately for being exposed as tracing her work off of another Otome artist (Yuiga Satoru). It is a mess, but topical here seeing the game is releasing over here soon.
I'm not trying to scream 'boycott' or anything, Aksys is great for continuing to localize VNs, so support them if you're planning on doing so.

I don't think the game itself should suffer. Presumably the writers and programmers didn't do anything wrong. If Mai Hanamura (whose art I have always loved...though I guess it may not really be HER art that I love after all) is guilty as charged, then her name should be taken out of the credits and the real artist should be credited instead, and appropriately compensated. Imo, anyway. Unless of course the real artist doesn't want it to be used at all.
Assuming this is true, of course, cuz I really can't tell who is telling the truth, there. And assuming that it IS true, I'd also wanna know who was really at fault. A lazy, untalented or unscrupulous artist, or a company pressuring workers to get things done fast (or in a certain popular style) and then expecting employees to take the fall for it if the wrongdoing is ever discovered. If the latter were the case and Otomate itself were behind the bulk of the issue, then I'd say boycotting the game/company would be warranted. (Mind you, the localizer, Aksys, would suffer too, and they probably have absolutely no connection to any part of this.)

Update on Digimon survive...it's still planned for 2020. According to Bamco, Famitsu made an error. (I hadn't even realized it was Famitsu reporting on this.) No word on if they're giving it an overhaul or not, though.

Geoff Keighley, who dropped out of E3 even before E3 was cancelled,
is arranging and/or hosting an ongoing digital gaming event this summer. Hopefully it'll help fill the void left by E3 and the probability that we won't be getting even a Nintendo Direct, this June.

No one else is posting, but I'm still gonna, as I need more game news and maybe others do, too. THis is barely news, as I don't know if it indicates anything beyond SOME progress happening somewhere, but...
Tales of Arise has been trademarked in the US.

I do have a bit of additional gaming news...apparently
Indivisible just randomly dropped on the Nintendo eShop? Even the devs didn't know this was happening...and it's not even the most up to date version or cover art. (Afaik things are pretty bungled getting approvals on indie games right now.)
It is 20% off though, so...that's a thing! Wish I knew how it ran...I'd love to pick it up finally.

Hmm, I wonder why that's bungled. Doesn't seem like something that needs to be affected by covid19 junk, but I guess EVERYTHING is pretty screwed up, right now.
But hey, another bit of actual news. Or news of news, anyway! Even if it's for a game I don't care about, I know some others definitely do. They're gonna
release information on Cyberpunk 2077 on June 11th.
Also on Cyberpunk 2077...
the ESRB rated it M.

If you are going to be playing Xenoblade Definitive, look out for spoilers. Some media person has apparently broken NDA and is leaking details about Future Connect.
I hope they get fired, tbh. (My source for this is News of Monolithsoft+, but I won't link the tweet just in case the comments get spoilery.)

That's kind of harsh to wish someone would lose their job over just a leak.

If someone doesn't respect their job, which is to not break a NDA on a highly anticipated piece of media, why should they have the privilege of keeping said job? They don't seem to care about their consumers, it's super « Cow Poopy » to leak and spoil things, especially to those wishing to go in blind. They didn't do their job, they wanted some clout instead.
The fact that I have to put in leak heavy buzzwords into my filters or go full blackout mode every time something I'm looking forward is close to release is tiring and shouldn't have to be a thing I have to do. NDAs exist for a reason, and if you can't do the simple task of not breaking it, then you're in the wrong field and should expect consequences.

I completely agree. If they deliberately go against what they promised to do, and is the foundation of the field they are in, they shouldn't be working in that field. I don't agree that it's harsh at all...it's only fair. They've proven themselves to be untrustworthy with information that they promised not to disclose...why should they be trusted not to do so again? They're not a victim in this, they're the guilty party.
