I was planning on getting Oninaki anyways (I'm one of the 12 people who liked I Am Setsuna and Lost Sphear), but it's cool to hear we've got some good devs taking care of it. Advertising lingo aside, as long as it's fun, I couldn't care less if it's 'shocking' or not.
I got an update from the Chicken Wiggle kickstarter that was pretty much a nonupdate. "We're still working on it! Bye!"
I'm not clamouring for the game, it'll be out when it's out, but maybe keep updates for actual updates? Meh.
Visual Novel/Survival Simulator. With it being available on PS4 and Switch, I can maybe see it localized? NIS's more VN games tend to get skipped over more than localized, but we'll have to see.

Dunno if this is old news or not, but he's made a little video himself. Reggie is retiring in April. I don't think this means anything for our games, but I'll kind of miss him. When he doesn't have a script to read off of, he's such an awkward, odd guy; he's always made me laugh.
I don't know who the Doug Bowser guy is who is replacing him. I just want him to be personable, as I'm not sure what importance the Nintendo of America really has in what goes on with our games. (I genuinely don't know what they do.) I'm a bit sad this means E3 2018 was our last E3 with Reggie in.

Reggie leaving makes me sad, but he's earned the break/time with his family or w/e.
Also, the fact that the guy's last name is Bowser is LOL.

Title: My Girlfriend is a Mermaid (A.K.A. She is Mermaid)
Release date: February 28, 2019
Price: $19.99
Rating: T (Teen)
Publisher: Sekai Games
Developer: TALESshop
I was wondering if anyone has played the English Steam release for this game and if it is worth it? Is the English translation good? How is the story/stories?
Also, I was debating on buying My Girlfriend is a Mermaid (this), Cinders, or Tokyo School Life for my Switch? Which one (or two) are the best option(s). All of these games are also on Steam, but I've never played any of these before.
Tomorrow (February 19th) I am getting Steins;Gate Elite for the Switch as well, and I want some good e-shop visual novels. I have Planetarian (by Key) on my Switch, but that is the only other high quality one on my Switch. Most of the others (that are) done by D3 Publisher and Operahouse are very poorly translated, and I don't want to waste so much money anymore.
Thanks so much for your help!!!
Sorry for double-posting, but this post was me!! I didn't realize I wasn't logged in.
Update:
The price of My Girlfriend's a Mermaid has been changed on the U.S. Nintendo e-shop. It now costs $25, not including tax.

Reggie is such a beloved man. I'm really gonna miss him. He was a great mixture of sincerity and memes.
E3 this year is gonna be really weird without him.

Not gonna lie, I teared up a little at Reggie's goodbye message on Twitter today. It'll be strange not seeing him at E3 anymore. I really did enjoy his presentations. However, with a name like Bowser, I think NoA's in good hands. Hopefully he's able to step into Reggie's shoes the best he can, but do his own thing too. Hopefully we get one final Direct with Reggie at some point, but I'll understand if he doesn't. He deserves a nice retirement and break, but I hope he won't be too much of a stranger to Nintendo.

Wow, I didn't see that about Reggie. It'll be pretty strange having E3 without him...and I doubt there'd be a direct between April and E3 to introduce the new guy. I would have expected Bill Trinen to take over for Reggie...he's almost as visible as Reggie and well liked. Ah, well. Hope Reggie enjoys his retirement, he's done a lot of good for the company.

I had a little bit been looking forward to maybe seeing Reggie talk about Animal Crossing at E3 this year. Hopefully this other guy has a fun personality...I'm not familiar with him at all. Guess we'll find out before long.
NEXT DAY EDIT: I keep hearing about Xbox/Microsoft wanting to somehow make their games available to play on the Switch, or something like that. Tbh, I don't really understand the full of what it would mean since I have no idea what Xbox Game Pass is (I have never had an Xbox or even really looked into it) so...yeah, dunno. Sounds like a service that has different games all the time so the offerings might change? However it works, if it even has the tiniest chance of meaning that I might be able to play Ooblets on my Switch, then...woot! (Though probably that's not what it means.) Also, source.
A video has surfaced showing the differences between the Switch and PS4 demos of Atelier Lulua.
Both of them look great. The Switch version isn't as grainy as the Lydie&Suelle port + it looks like it's running at a smooth 30fps. I play the Atelier games regardless of specs, they don't matter to me, but it is nice to see Gust finally getting their footing on the Switch. The Knights of Azure 2 port was abysmal, Lydie&Suelle was fine, Nelke also looks fine, and the ports of the Arland Trilogy seem to be fine as well. But Lulua looks like a new engine and that Gust has figured out how to get their games looking like they belong on Switch.
It gives me hope for the future Atelier games and Blue Reflection 2. It also seems they've finally dropped the Vita (Nelke has a version, Lulua does not) which is GOOD. Let the poor thing die already. It's on its last legs in Japan, just housing VNs and Otomes at this point (and a few first person DRPGs here and there).
I'm more excited for Lulua than ever now.

Hmm...this game Claybook looks very interesting in that it lets you create pretty freely, but...it doesn't seem to have any actual point? Unlike DQB, you're not building a town for people to live in. And unlike Mario Maker, you're not creating levels that can be played, afaik. So...it looks cool, but at the same time, I just don't see any point to it. It's kind of like...giving us a program where we can play with digital playdoh and then show what we made to other people?
Not sure if someone mentioned this game already. Link includes a trailer too.
Never heard of this game but I like how it looks. Might give it a try.

Ni no Kuni II is getting another big DLC option on March 19th. (That seems to be the date for Japan; not sure if it's the same for elsewhere.) I think that's great, and might be worth the price, but at the same time, I played NNKII on release and was completely done with it by the time the first one came out, and had moved on to other stuff, no longer thinking about Ni no Kuni at all. I really liked the game, but it's not one I felt drawn back to even with promises of new character episodes or etc. It was lots of fun at the time, but not really memorable once it's nearly a year in the past, I'm finding.
Now if they gave us DLC that expanded our ability to grow our kingdom or customize it, I wouldn't be able to resist and might actually get pulled in, lol.
EDIT: True to form, Xseed has given out a release date exactly a month in advance. Trails of Cold Steel Decisive will be out on March 26th. Xseed retweeted this, so it must be real. It's later than I hoped, and this means I'll be playing Nelke late most likely. Haven't decided yet...I guess now I have a month to iron out my purchase priorities
