Yeah there are a lot of leaks, I've skimmed over stuff but there's a lot, I won't posting anything further since the two i posted earlier were less spoiler y but some of the information is...wow.

I like a certain amount of leaks, but the amount I've found is waay too much for me so early in the week. (I like being informed to a certain degree since it takes me the better part of a year to finish an FE game and I have a terrible memory.)

Yeah, I definitely don't mind some - I went out of my way to see all the starter students in the houses, as well as looked at the reddit leaks earlier on - but I don't like when the entire plot and all the twists and turns are leaked. No shade at people who enjoy reading all of them and such, but I always try to avoid spoilers, and leaks just make it twice as hard!

I usually did when i was younger, but thankfully the only twist I found (that wasn't easily accessible) was already one people predicted. but I've realized how much is coming out before it got past my threshold so I'll stick to youtube and tumblr over reddit

So, um some of the timeskip portraits got leaked and I will say that Lorenz timeskip look reminds me of Duke Venomania from the Vocaloid Evillous Chronicles.

No spoilers but we got queerbaited real hard. Just a heads-up to go in with low low expectations, that's better than believing in tight-lipped Nintendo who confirmed nothing and didn't even correct reviewers who had the wrong idea. I hope the press was worth it for them.

While I generally agree with this assessment (ESPECIALLY that of go in with low-low expectations, holy « Cow Poopoo ») some of the info brought up in the reviews probably went against the embargo act, were taken out context/spun by the reviewers themselves, or the reviewers were simply wrong because of certain aspects that were different from this time around compared to previous games.

Spoiler:

that being in that some "s" supports are NOT romantic in nature and that was across the board for M/f and s/s alike. They are there and s supports, just not romantic in nature.

And so in many ways that's not Nintendo's responsibility for clarification. However, the ^ the spoiler tagged factor in mind, is 100% IS' "responsibility" and feels like a reaaaal big bait and switch for a LOT of players. The whole thing is really nerve wracking and stupid and couldve been done better in a million ways.

Either way this is ... really sucky Things were definitely framed/worded in a way that made it seem like s/s romance was a thing, but it's hard to know how much of that was misconstrued by people reporting on things and how much is intentional on the devs' part.

-Alois, Rhea, Gilbert are NOT romantic S supports like people initially thought. They are all platonic, for both o/s and s/s. In Alois' specifically, he views you like your his kid and in the m!Byleth version the end slide mentions M!Byleth getting a wife or something off hand.

So thus, the only s/s options are:
-Linhardt (the ONLY m/m option)
-Dorothea (f/f)
-Mercedes (f/f)
-Sothis (?????)
-Edelgard (?????)

Sothis is ???? atm and at this point in time I'm not sure what exactly entails for Edelgard (or any of the lords really). Certain details about her supports + supports in general is kind of just confusing at the moment. Not sure if people are just missing stuff in the data/code or if it's just taken out of context or what.

tl;dr - With S supports not necessarily being romantic-explicitly (and not a thing for npc x npcs at all, even though the matchmaking endings are definitely there) and with certain details about certain characters showing up or failing to show up, there is a lot of confusion right now.

I would go in further detail, but to be honest it's just too damn soon and the information is unshaky/unreliable at best. Like I saw some stuff that initially had me super upset and now I'm not as sure if the info was "reliable" on face value (not necessarily wrong, but wasn't looking at the whole picture due to it being looking at specific code).

The best thing I can say is that when it comes to supports/stuff; everybody should go in with the absolute minimum expectations/hopes as much possible. Both s/s AND o/s stuff. Cause as it seems now ????

The good news is that the story continually seems to be given a « Cow Poopoo » ton of praise, but I think a lot of the supports stuff may be...complicated. Or at the very least unnecessarily confusing.

Apparently Rhea's support chain IS romantic but her ending slide is not in nature (or more so of a formal/professional nature). Gilbert has the same kind of ending slide, but nobody is sure about his support chain, so he could be in a similar situation.

Alois' end slide specifically has you join him and have a father/child bond and marry someone of the opposite « Chicken Hugging », so I am assuming the support chain is platonic too. If not, that'd be super « Snuggly Bunny » up.

Sothis apparently has a romantic support chain but I'm not 100% on that. Edel's end slide seems to be romantic but perhaps a more subtle level, not sure about the support.

Both Linhardt, Dorothea, and Mercedes have romantic endslides.

Jokes aside this is super disappointing to hear. Mostly, I'm upset that it was never clarified that some supports would be platonic. I know it wasn't mentioned anywhere that they would be romantic either, but seeing as how in the last two installments of the game S support resulted in marriage, they should have known that's what everyone would expect. Scratch that, I'm SURE they knew, so them clamming up about it - especially in regards to the s/s stuff - seems intentionally misleading to me.

All in all, I don't need romantic supports to enjoy the game, but being lead to believe they were going to be there for anyone with an S tier until this close to release - not gonna lie - has me pretty bummed. I guess I'll wait until the game comes out and see who is available, but I'm very disappointed with how all of this has been handled.

TBF Gilbert COULD still be romantic in the support chains and the ending slide is just platonic cause it's from an outsider's perspective, but I wouldn't put 100% bank on it right now. And either way, that'd be 2/5, more or less so it still sucks.

As for Alois, idk what they were thinking with that one. Cause no matter how you frame it, nobody is gonna be happy about it. And the supports potentially being romantic but suddenly end slide is platonic would be the absolute worst, especially for m!byleth cause the slide specifically has them marry a woman so...just... @_@

TBF for the Alois thing, this goes for f byleth as well, allegedly. But the whole thing is ???

There is also some ??? gray area over one more person but I'm going to wait until there is more explicit information cause I don't want to upset anyone unnecessarily. But I will say is just go in with VERY low expectations and keep an open mind across the board.

I think a lot of it is that the game is just really bulky in content and there is still some confusion over how certain things are going to work out, so it's probably just best to wait and see until the full embargo stuff is lifted.

Yeah, fingers crossed, cause there being only 1 romantic m/m option is so lame. 2 would be lame as well, but still.

I haven't read all the details on Alois but from what I've heard yeah, that would be super weird, and was a weird choice to begin with?? so either way it's just .... weird, at every turn, I feel like LOL. The Byleth marrying an unnamed woman in that end slide is so dumb to me too. I don't have full context so maybe it makes sense?? but it just seems pointless.

I may or may not know who you're talking about, but I did hear talks about one character having a platonic S support and I will say if that's true then I am .... very sad LOL

While I can understand the disappointment in the relationships, I also recall reading that the character developments are deeper. That generally leans towards characters sexual preference being more defined as well. I personally have always preferred better defined NPC's rather than the 'everyone can bang anyone' mentality some developers toss in without putting any effort into the characters themselves. That said having a limited number of potentials means you can't cram every relationship type into the mix very well either, and at the same time build them as well defined characters also.

Course still waiting to get final confirmation of what we have. And perhaps some DLC will add more based on feedback. Since I have to wait for the Switch Lite to get the game everything will be known by then.

Hopefully we get clarification about how supports work... I was originally thinking Claude's house but was like oh wait, if I can romance Edelgard as a woman that'd be awesome So much for that, potentially.

Because I married the « Snuggly Bunny » out of Gunter, Fuuga, and Yukimura in Fates and it hardly rustled jimmies. I just don't get this, maybe I will if I pursue him? IDK, this is weird.

Not to sound like i'm tantruming or anything. I just kinda didn't want to romance the students even with the revealed plot. I guess I'll just see how things play out - I'm gonna love this game regardless.
