Ahh, I'm so excited!!
Still don't have my copy just yet, and I'm gonna be sharing it with family so I'll ... probably have to wait an extra hour and a half before playing, BUT SOOn. I can hardly stand still I'm so excited!
I hope everyone else is having fun with the game, and to everyone still in the waiting boat like me, hang in there friends.

RIP me because I can't come to a decision on what house to join.
I'm so stricken with indecision, so I'm letting my little sis have a turn while I deliberate. I think two of my sisters are leaning Golden Deer, so it'd be nice if we all went with the same route so we could discuss story things with each other easier, but there are some characters I really like in Blue Lions as well.
Not really a spoiler since I'm only an hour in at this point, but to be safe-
Anyway, just being an hour in, I'm pretty impressed so far. The game looks quite a bit smoother than the early trailers we saw. I've been avoiding newer trailers and stuff so I haven't seen the game in a while. And the intro cinematic has me really excited to learn more about the story. Gameplay feels good and Fire Emblem-y lol. I've only ever played the handheld FEs so it's also just really neat seeing it on a big screen like this.
Oh, and the music! I dig it. Only heard a bit so far of course but the music that plays towards the beginning when you're naming your character and all that, it's really cool. I was stuck on the name for a bit so I got some time to really listen. I love it.

I broke into my copy tonight because I literally fell asleep in the middle of a battle while playing Trails in the Sky SC haha, so I figured I needed a break!
Ehppy, I’m in the same boat as you are! I really enjoyed Claude from the start, but now I’m totally stuck because overall, Dimitri and his house seem SUPER interesting to me. Dimitri was already an ultra close second choice anyway...
I love that the voice actor for...
Interesting tidbit: I got an e-mail from Nintendo announcing the game’s release today. What makes it interesting is that there’s a survey for which house to choose, and Edelgard was sitting at a whopping 46%, with Dimitri at 28% and Claude at 26%. It didn’t show how many people participated, but I thought that was kind of fun on Nintendo’s part haha.

@Ryume
Ahh same boat!! lol almost exactly the same tbh. Claude's been my favorite since the first trailer, and I still like him a LOT but I'm so curious about Dimitri and the Blue Lions that I think I'm actually leaning there... Crazy to think about because I was Claude Squad from day one, hahah. You'll have to let us know when you decide, of course!!
I'm sharing the game with a few people so I'll get another crack at it later, but I think I'll go with Blue Lions and if I regret it I can start a new file and go with Golden Deer.
Speaking of voice acting, I'm really liking everyone's voices so far. Nice work, dub crew.
Ohh and that poll is interesting! Edelgard is so popular. It's cool seeing what other players chose to do.

It might be just me who thinks this way...but I've not really thought Edelgard's higher percentage really makes her more popular...I just think it means she's the only female leader, while there are two male leaders to choose between. I'm not playing this, at least not right now...might at a later time when I know more about combat and stuff...but I think I'd want to go for a connection with a leader first, rather than a student. So to me the percentages seem to reflect that about half of people want a female option to pair up with and the rest are leaning toward guys.
That's overly-simplified, of course, since I'm sure some people choose their house by which students are in it rather than who is leading it, but...I'm just not sure Edelgard is really all that much more popular than the other two. I just think she's the only female head-of-house.
Did that make any sense to anyone other than me? Lol.

There are definitely people that feel like they can only bond with or identify with a character that is the same gender as them or looks like them so that sounds like a fair theory Kiki.
I picked Claude because his personality seemed quite fun. I also liked his group of students a lot. But I would like to have a file for each eventually because they're all likeable in their own way. The more I talk with each of the leaders the more I enjoy them.

I can't stop playing you guys. This game has exceeded my expectations, especially since I didn't watch any of the trailers past the initial announcement.
I am currently playing on Hard/Casual, and oh boy, does it feel like a challenge. I did Hard/Casual in Fates, but it didn't feel as challenging (especially Birthright), but I'll keep trucking along. I think I'm on chapter 4 currently, and I got most of my team classed into their beginning classes. I just hate how little activity points you have initially to do things, but I think I'm managing well. I'm also trying to take on the daunting task of recruiting all possible characters, so if anyone has any tips for that, shoot them my way.
I absolutely love the artwork and transitions IS has created to illustrate the narrative. It is wonderful to look at, and I want each painting framed in my bedroom.
I am going to fawn over the Black Eagles for a bit, and a bit of story spoilers.

I ended up going with Dimitri and the Blue Lions for my first route. I am absolutely going to play all 3, but my curiosity pulled me away from the Claude Squad for now, haha.
Really love what bits I’ve been able to play so far, but even though I’m off for the next few days from work, it’s kind of busy for me with other stuff, so I probably won’t get to play too much before I’m stuck on another stint of 12 hour shifts

OK, I've had a chance to play some!!
I didn't play as much as I would have liked yesterday, cause I ended up having a rocky night, LOL but I've gotten to some actual gameplay past the prologue now haha. I ended up joining the Golden Deer, because of course ... Claude is and has been my favorite since we first saw the three lords, so I had to!
I'm very intrigued by the story thus far, even though I've barely gotten bits and pieces! Some mystery is fun and good though, and I'm looking forward to learning more.
I'm anxious to start the actual teaching portion, because I'm not the most stat-conscious player normally, so the higher customization this game provides is essentially like being handed a foreign object and being told to make it work to me so .... wish me luck, I guess? LOL

Got spoiled on a lot of things unfortunately, oof, but some of them I was expecting/suspicious of.
On chapter 4-5 on GD so far and while the difficulty has started to rise, it's honestly still relatively easy? Like the training of students give you a lot of potential for stuff and the fact they took away the weapon triangle just makes it a bit too...easy at times. At least compared to previous games. I've had to wind back (and restart only once) a few times but not nearly as much as I was expecting.
The hardest part is definitely just your limited resources, though. Limited moneyss. And that certain spells have a cap use per battle.
In terms of story/character, Im really loving Claude and so far the Golden Deer route is really interesting? While I do feel like Im going to really enjoy BL+Dimitri, I love Claude's character so far and how he interacts with his teammates.
