Backlog 2019
Yeah, it's really freaking pretty - and on the Switch, too! I'm only an hour or so in rn, but it's ticking a lot of my boxes!!!
The new battle system is gonna take a little getting used to, but I like it so far! Also, gotta say that besides her redonks boobs, Lila has a really nice character design. I love how her ears move depending on how she's emoting.

Glad it's so pretty!
How's the alchemy system so far...pretty much the same? And the events?

I'm about done the first day of field training in Ch 3, I think (always hard to be sure) and I have to say, I love Juna and Kurt paired together in battle now that they are at link level 3. Their link-level-dependent responses just work really nicely together. Nothing to do with the story, but if you prefer to see everything for yourself first, I'll put it behind a spoiler.
EDIT: Oh wow. We've been getting backstory revelations and enhancements all along, but the 'older' women in this game blow everyone else out of the water for how moving their stories are, imo. I've got a favourite for ending bond now for sure. (Though of course I'll try to see as many as I can.) But I have to say, I think the Falcom team has their own set of fetishes that they freely indulge in, in all of their games, but especially Kiseki.
I've definitely been taking breaks here and there but I think I'm...3/4 done Ch. 3? Something like that. I'm on June 18, anyway.
EDIT 2: In the last section of Chapter 3 now...these last bits were really long! And it came to me suddenly that I'm finding every Ironblood's reason for being loyal to the Chancellor really stupid. Well, of the ones we know, at least.
I could easily finish Chapter 3 today at the least, but my back is hurting so much that even sitting in a recliner hurts it. Not sure how much I can play.

I like it too! The new battle system will definitely be some getting use to; I've only played Rorona and Totori, so this was a curveball. I do like that the protagonist is different than Rorona and Totori. Haven't gotten to the alchemy system yet, but I feel like I'll get there later on.Bluie wrote:Yeah, it's really freaking pretty - and on the Switch, too! I still haven't gotten my copy of Luigi's Mansion 3 from the mail yet. We have no idea where it is.
Decided to play a quick little Halloween adventure game for the holiday today. Played through and completed 'Candy Please!'. It was definitely cute, but obvs only worth the $1 I paid for it on sale lol. Still it was kinda cute to run around making costumes and getting candy.
So far 8 games beat which is pretty good for me!

Started playing LM3 myself yesterday at midnight - went digital this time...I waffle back and forth between going digital and physical. Overall I'd say it's worth the wait. Since I never played Dark Moon it's been a long, long time for me...and boy, I missed this.
The only thing I don't like...(~4h gameplay spoiler)
Spoiler:
I've not played Cold Steel III at all the last two days. Not sure if I just got a bit burned out (it's a very detail-intense game that you have to pay a lot of attention to) or if I got nervous about the end. I'm into the field training part of Chapter 4, which means I'm starting to feel like I'm getting hints about how the game may end. I have the feeling that it's going to be heart-breakingly ugly.
Most of what I've experienced with this game has not been very surprising for me. Some of it I outright expected, some of it seemed so natural given past details that I just took it as a matter of course, and there've been a few new elements added as well, only a few of which were surprising. But putting them all together, I'm really quite concerned about how CS III is going to end. So it's possible I'm also putting off playing the rest. I did put off finishing CS II for half a year, lol, because I simply wasn't ready for my time with Class VII to end.
Anyway, I'm finding I really want to do something other than play games lately anyway. I rearranged my room to make it more suitable to 'play' Ring Fit in, and if my back isn't in shreds tomorrow, I'd like to try it then. (It wasn't supposed to be back in stock until Nov 4, but surprise! I got it yesterday.)
But really...I want to do paper art again. I want to fold and roll and cut and crimp and stamp and paint and paste and all that good stuff.
I will get back to CS III soon though. Unless I really did chicken out, in which case I may end up letting it lapse...

I am in the very last section of chapter 4 in ToCS3. I’ve been using a couple different guides to get through it all (Trails games are so massive I like to make sure I get as much as possible done on the first playthrough since the second may not happen for years, if at all). I’ve played nearly every day since last Friday except for maybe one day, and I STILL don’t think I’ll have this game finished by the time I return to work this coming Wednesday night lol. Oh well.
Still not sure how I feel about the story. I don’t dislike it by any means, but I think because of the sheer amount of detail and callbacks, I’m going to need to see the game through to the end until I can make a decision.

I picked up Bravely Default again and made some significant progress on Chapter 7 in just two nights of playing, so I’m optimistic about finishing it this time. I almost dread the end of this game because I enjoy it so much, but I’m also excited to finish it because it’ll be a pretty huge accomplishment! I definitely want to finish it before I get a Switch which I’m thinking of doing this holiday season, so time to finally do it!
We're probably at the same point, then, or close, ryume. I'm on the last day of Chapter 4 and I think I'll be done with Ch 4 today, leaving just the 'final chapter', which I really don't know what to expect from, though I am increasingly expecting a particular unpleasant turn to the end...
I'll play this game again lots of times, at LEAST twice. Once more on an easy mode and then a third time on nightmare, pretty much guaranteed. I'll probably have a better feel for the story after a second play. The first time I just want to see what happens next in the larger picture, and tend to ignore any finer details.
I hate the card mini game...but I'm finding I have a chance to go back and get all or almost all the cards I didn't bother to try for previously, so I'm giving it a go for a while to see how many I can snatch up before I continue on with the game's story. I'm at a fun bit since I should be able to do a bunch of events soon.
EDIT: Turns out it's not possible to do that, but I did get the really good master card I wanted, so at least my next play will be much easier to collect the remaining cards.
EDIT 2: Finished Ch. 4. Wow.

It got here at 6PM. On Halloween. Where there are kids going around trick-or-treating and someone could have stolen it. Thankfully my boyfriend was home when I went out to get dinner for the two of us.Mikodesu wrote:D: Well that sucks! Speaking of that, I beat it today! Loved it more than 1 and 2 combined. I tried going back to Atelier Ryza, but I just wasn't feeling it. When I asked my boyfriend about it, he said I wasn't enjoying it all that much and he said the same thing when I booted up Atelier Totori. I went through a bunch of games on my Switch and did some deleting and gonna sell some titles as well for eShop credit.
Anyway, it's back to the list of games I was playing before as well.
Animal Crossing Wild World: Paid off the third to last debt and now working on the second to last one. If I pay off 13K bells a day for this and the last one, I should be done about a week to a week and a half before New Horizons comes out.
Borderlands 3, Harvest Moon A Wonderful Life, and Viva Pinata: Haven't played too much of these games lately, but I think it's enough to say I'm satisfied with the games I have now to not focus on Viva Pinata right now. So, I'm crossing that off for now and will come back to it later.
Pokemon Shield is my next game to beat and I can't wait! I'm debating if I should go physical or digital with it. I have two vouchers left. One is for Animal Crossing New Horizons for sure, but I don't know what to use the second one on. I'm hoping Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town is compatible with the vouchers, but I need a backup plan if it's not. I was thinking Pokemon Shield, but my boyfriend doesn't keep Pokemon games around for long once he's beaten them whereas I do. I had the same problem with Fire Emblem Three Houses, but got it digitally and he got it physically. He ended up returning it, but said he enjoyed watching me play it than he ever did playing it.
Not to mention, there's still Bravely Second to playCode_Name_Geek wrote:I picked up Bravely Default again and made some significant progress on Chapter 7 in just two nights of playing, so I’m optimistic about finishing it this time. I think I may have been too hasty about there not being another playthrough. The storyline is so massive, I may need to play again just before the 4th game is released for sure. I just don’t know that it will be immediately after I finish the first time, but you never know, I guess. I honestly won’t know until those end credits are rolling, haha.Kikki wrote:I'll play this game again lots of times, at LEAST twice. I too hate the card game. It takes much too long. I only play when it’s against my students or anyone I can raise bonding levels with.
Grats on finishing chapter 4!

Yup I haven’t forgotten about that one either! I’m not sure if I’ll play it right after BD but I do plan to eventually get to it!Pachi wrote:Not to mention, there's still Bravely Second to playCode_Name_Geek wrote:I picked up Bravely Default again and made some significant progress on Chapter 7 in just two nights of playing, so I’m optimistic about finishing it this time. Man, pretty much all last week was all work and no play for me. I'm getting published in a zine and I decided I wanted to get my entry done before Pokemon came out. Well, I did it, AND THEN I decided to finish all the art in my queue except one so I can mostly focus on Ryza this week.
I've missed playing it SO MUCH. Once I get the cleaning and my workout done today, it's time to jump right back in!
