I still need to do a lot of post-game bits 'n' bobs cleanup myself in XC2. Ursula's quest line is the most ridiculous side quest I think I have seen in gaming, ever. I mean, they calculated the number of hours needed to do it with the most efficient method, and I think it was something like 40. (-_-) And I haven't done ANY of the extra fighting stuff, so honestly...there's loads left to do in post game. Dunno if I'll ever get back to it, though I always vaguely mean to.
My heart rate monitoring with the joy con in Ring Fit doesn't seem very reliable any more. Most of the time it can't read my pulse at all and other times it's just wrong. Luckily, I spent years regularly taking my pulse, so I'm pretty good at knowing what it is by feel. If I'm barely breathing fast, it's under 140. If it's comfortably fast, between 140 and 150. Approaching 160 and I start to feel light-headed. I'll probably keep trying to take it, but just for the ten or so extra second of rest between levels, lol.
I also bought my first couple of smoothies (in addition to ones I've found in treasure chests) and a new outfit. It clashes horribly with my trainer avatar's hair, though.

I saw you playing Ring Fit this morning!
Annnnd, yep, finished up Fire Emblem Three Houses like I thought I would. Gotta say, S Ranking
In the Black Eagles route kinda finishes off the story nicely, like a little bow on top. Though...
Anyways lol.
Time to get some costumes!

Today I had to skip Ring Fit because of my left calf. My right leg is about 1/2 inch longer than my left, so the left wears out faster. Yesterday I had a bit of pain in my left calf at the very end of my session likely from the long sprint required in one of the levels. Since is was still pretty tight this morning I figured I should let it rest again today. Better safe than sorry! Looking forward to playing again tomorrow!
Yay for you getting to smoothies and new clothes Kikki! I went with that new green outfit personally. Also the fudge you made sounds amazing and it was so sweet of you to make it for your dad!

Kikki, that fudge sounds awesome.

I've never made fudge, but I've had homemade fudge and it certainly had an addictive quality to it, hahah. I'm glad it was such a hit!
Maybe they will put out a demo for Pokemon Sw/Sh for you to try? I hope so!
Congrats on finishing your fourth playthrough of Three Houses, Bluie! That's quite a feat.
I spoke too soon on Portia. It seems while it waits a bit longer to crash or lock up, it's still an inevitable thing, even on the lowest possible graphical settings. I'm not sure what else I can try at this point. It seems to be running just fine, and then out of nowhere it stutters and locks up. It's a huge bummer.

Even with how little I got to do, I was really enjoying playing again. Maybe I'll return to it somewhere down the line when I have a less crappy computer, lol.
So for now, I'm playing Legend of Mana to fill the next few days before pokemon. This game's aesthetic, art style and soundtrack will never get old for me. It's definitely got a spot on my favorite games of all time list.

Ooo, Legend of Mana is a big fave of mine. It was actually a member who used to frequent this forum who got me to play it and I really enjoyed it. If SE is planning on remaking it like the previous three Mana games, I do wonder how they'll go about it. Hmmm.
OK, I've been grinding Nopon Stones for around 2 hours and my brain is mush. I've gotten a good chunk of the costumes, but none of the overly expensive ones. It'll take some more patience, but I will get them.... tomorrow.... maybe.
For now I'm going to take an anime break and see what I feel like doing tomorrow. Dragon Quest XIS grinding or more Xenoblade 2 costume grinding.
*Sighs in wishing Pokemon was here already*

That stinks, Ehppy

I primarly played Portia on my husband’s rig (since I was working nights at that time so he certainly wasn’t using it lol), which is pretty powerful even though the only PC game he plays is WoW, so I am not really able to give you any ideas for solutions to run it at lower resolutions, etc.
THIS THREAD on the Steam forum might give you some ideas if you’re really determined to play. Uninstalling/reinstalling may be the answer, as much of a pain as it is, but it sounds like the OP was having similar issues to what you’re having.
If none of that works, Legend of Mana is definitely a great alternative! My favorite character from that game is probably Li’l Cactus

I saw Bluie and Pachi both on at the same time this morning too, playing FE:TH

It's a little like having company.
I'm going to try to get motivated to play Ring Fit tomorrow morning around 7AM as I have an early appointment and it'd be much better if I can get working out and showering done before heading out. I always get up quite early, like 5 to 6 AM, but unlike ten (even five) years ago, it now takes me an hour or two to feel like I have any energy, lol...so first thing upon awakening I really have NO desire to move myself around much. Especially since I wake up so stiff, with my back and neck and jaw hurting. (Moving around actually helps with that but when you're sore you still don't feel like moving, even if you know it'll probably help. Ime, anyway.)
Guess we'll know tomorrow if that actually happens. There's snow sticking on the ground now, too...really saps my motivation to ever leave the house, lol. Snow makes me sad...

I'm quite far into Chapter 8 of Bravely Default now, though I'm currently struggling with one boss fight. My friend who's played already says I don't have far to go so I guess this is the final stretch! My party just reached max level and my playtime is nearly 130 hours (though actual time spent on this is probably way longer considering all the time I spent losing battles lol). Planning to finish this before the end of fall term break (aka this week) so I can finally move on!

So I went back into Ring Fit after a day of rest for my left calf AND...
IMMEDIATE pain in my left calf when I started jogging... I was only able to manage 5ish minutes today because of it. I guess the uneven legs make any kind of jogging impossible for me without injury...

I guess I will start using silent mode tomorrow instead. It's a shame because I didn't mind the jogging in place, but I don't wanna hurt myself.

Better to reduce your exercise than get injured and be forced to stop entirely, Samansu.

And the silent mode isn't all that much easier than regular mode anyway, unless you're half-assing the mini-squats. Just slightly deepening your bob will increase the energy output. I've been in silent mode all along, thanks to my sleeps-past-noon-every-day sister.
In Ring Fit, it seems you CAN'T finish the second battle with Dragaux if you are below the recommended level (17) unless you happen to have a lot of smoothies on hand. If you're level 16 and have 10 smoothies, I'm pretty sure you can finish it fine. I almost always get 'great' ratings on all my exercises, so it's not that I wasted any attack or defence power.
Anyway I just barely didn't finish him off. Though the battle with him pushed me up to level 18, so I'll just go back and buy more smoothies (and probably play a few mini-games for extra XP...I wouldn't mind leveling up to 20) and I should be able to finish this battle with the muscle monster.
EDIT: Also noticed that the heart monitor in the joy con works quite good ONLY when you merely 'set' your thumb over it, without pressing
at all. Not just 'press lightly', but don't press. Even a little. Then it seems to work quite well. For me, anyway. Not sure about everyone else.
~
I've mostly convinced myself to get Pokemon Shield. When I said that I'd never really know what I thought of it until I finally gave in and tried one, I figured, hey...I like the looks. I like the new Pokemon. And even if I end up not liking the gameplay, I can just...make curry. All the curries. I hear there are something like 100 versions of curry or something like that, and experimentint with ingredients to figure them all out sounds like fun. And once I try this, I can either decide I do like it, or write it off for good instead of wavering every time a new game comes out.
Not sure I'll get it on day one, though, since it's not a big priority for me, and I'm not sure spoilers are something I need to worry about with this series, since it's not story-oriented.

Oh for sure I know! Squatting will still be difficult and I'm sure I can get my heart rate up doing it. Plus without impact I won't injure myself. I just have to accept that unless it's low/no impact I can't do it. Ah well such is life! I still don't regret not getting surgery to 'even' my legs. I just didn't trust doctors enough not to mess up shaving bone down the right amount for them to end up even.
Yeah I would say that is true. I was level 15 when I faced him and had a bunch of smoothies and got him down to 1/4 or 1/5 health, but then he got me. Perfect blocking and mostly perfect attacks didn't matter. I just hit 18 this morning, but I was thinking of going to 20 first as well!

Level really doesn't matter on courses, but apparently it really does on boss battles!
EDIT: Oh and that's cool about Pokémon! I hope you enjoy it! I'm not getting it, but I'm not into all the new mechanics and stuff. I'm more of a nostalgia Pokémon player, so I prefer Let's Go since it is the originals

Go make all that delicious curry and play with your adorable mons! Especially that new tea ghost I have heard people talk about!

Yay! I really hope you enjoy Pokemon, Kiki! The hubby and I found out our Gamestop is doing a midnight release and we are PUMPED! Reviews are coming out and it looks like the hatemob are just going to have to die on their hill. People like the game despite the flaws. Wrow, who woulda thought?!

I see you and Samansu playing Ring Fit a couple of times at the same time too! Not sure which day, but it was sometime this week
Kikki, you may want to get a physical copy of Pokemon if you're not sure you're going to like it (though I do hope you enjoy it!). With a physical copy, you can sell the game and get some of your money back.
I'm a teeny bit regretting that I got a Lite now, with all the Ring Fit talk. It seems like a great and fun way to exercise for someone who's lazy, like me

I'm a lazy exerciser; I cba going to the gym alone. While we have a stationary bike at home, I'm still not very motivated to use it regularly

Geek, you can check your actual playtime in the activity log

Which boss fight are you challenged with?

Ring Fit does
work with the Switch Lite (you can see
a video about it from Game Explain, if you want) but since you'd also need a pair of joy cons and it's harder to view when you only have the Switch Lite screen to look at, I'm not sure how viable that is for most people.
I appreciate the suggestion

I normally try to buy physical but since we have no local game store (gotta drive about two hours south to get to the nearest EB Games) I can't trade my games in anyway, and if I want my cousin and sister to be able to try this easily, it's best if I have a digital copy, since they can just use my purchasing profile on their own Switch(es). (They tend to keep my physical copies forever, so I don't actually like lending them out. My cousin still has Vesperia, and she never even plays it. And my sister probably wants to borrow it, lol.) With a digital copy, they can essentially borrow it at the same time, though not play it at *exactly* the same time.
I'm kind of my family's game supplier, lol. If not for me, two of them wouldn't be playing video games at all, and the other would only have half the variety. I'm not sure if I should be praised, or scolded.

Yeah I did figure it could work on the Lite, but that means playing the game with a tiny screen while shelling out money for joycons, and I don't think it's just worth it, sadly.
Ahhh I see. I was thinking of ebay or buy and sell groups, as my local game store doesn't do trade ins too, afaik.
Haha, I definitely think you should be praised! As long as it's not negatively hindering your family's daily lives, anyway. Video games are a fun thing to bond over too.
