I didn't think I could complete town plan #4 until the 2nd half of Y2, but looking at my progress rn, I could actually finish it by Spring, if not for those 30-yam requirement. I underestimated myself lol orz. Now I have to wait until Fall Y2 to unlock town plan #5 (and Amir and Sanjay) ;_;
I know there's the option of building a greenhouse and getting yam seeds via multiplayer, but the blueprint unlocks in Summer Y2 which is just one season away from getting yam seeds... I think I can hold out...
So now I guess I'll just spend Spring and Summer collecting all materials needed for town plan #5 in advance, and spending time at the animal sanctuary to get great products..

I always finish all requirements as fast as the game will allow, because I want Sanjay as fast as possible, lol. I just can't bear to play any longer than I have to without having him as a resident. I make sure to get the 'yams' in the first year. (I think they meant sweet potatoes here so I hesitate to call them yams, which are barely even related to sweet potatoes...but they do actually write 'yam' in the game, don't they? Throws me off. Maybe they really mean yam since yams are not as rare in some other parts of the world as they are in the US and Canada.) The first two times I played I got them by myself, by painfully resetting as many times as needed until I got the seeds as a prize in my first year, in time to grow the 30 needed. Last time I just went ahead and got them via multiplayer.
Still, the game has it time-locked so that you CANNOT unlock the two last boys until at least Spring 15th, as you have to participate in those three stupid Gardening Shows, and you can't participate in any until Fall 11th. I didn't like the Gardening Show to begin. (Even though I just enter with 36 weathervanes one time, then fill the space with lattice fences the next time and just alternate between those two options for every show. Win every time, lol. They all have terrible taste and making a pretty space that makes sense never gets you many points, so might as well go the easy route, imo.) Insult upon injury!
But in each of three times, I've gotten married to Sanjay before the end of year 2. (Well, the last time I played, this past summer, I went for Amir, just to say I did, though it was really difficult to restrain myself. I tried doing it as fast as I possibly could, and I managed to marry Amir on Summer 28th of Year 2.) If you went the natural route and waited for Fall Year 2 to get everything, they'd unlock on Winter 1 or 2 at the earliest, and then the soonest you could marry either of them would be around the end of Spring Year 3. TOO LONG. Couldn't stand it, lol.
I can't be patient when it comes to Sanjay, apparently. Though I'm not good at pacing my progress in any Bokumono game...

My SD card finally finished downloading and updating all my games. I now have a 400 GB SD card in my Switch with 249 GB left. It's enough room, for now, to fill up all my current games and future games, and, so far, I have most of them, but Nintendo's eShop is killing me with space!
With the SD card all done, that means I've opened the floodgates to my games there, especially Tales of Vesperia. I know I'm not going to beat it by Friday, so I'm just going to aim for before Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out.
I've also abandoned Assassin's Creed Odyssey, again, for now, for « Harvest Goddess » of War. I can see why people like it so far, and I do too. I just need a hook for me to really start liking it.
And now I have three days until Travis Strikes Again - No More Heroes comes out. So many games! I'm going to see if I can beat Tales of Vesperia, « Harvest Goddess » of War, and Travis Strikes again all before January 29. I know how long « Harvest Goddess » of War and Vesperia will take to beat and I suspect Travis won't be as long as either game given the price on it. It shouldn't be a problem.

I admire your dedication!
Yeah, I should've traded for some yam seeds and grew them during Fall Y1. I'll probably just animal sanctuary my way to Fall Y2 so I don't get bored much. Tbh this may be the first bokumono game where I complete the story line and not get married yet. I like to get to know all the bachelors and see their black and purple heart events before I choose who to date then marry. When I realized it would take me a looong time to unlock Sanjay and Amir (because of my underestimation), I thought I should've played as a male; I've unlocked all the bachelorettes and I find Felicity and Yuri really cute :3c
I just read up on yams and sweet potatoes. Apparently, yams are native to Asia and Africa, so maybe they do mean yams (since Bokumono is a Japanese game). But, that's kinda inconsistent since they've used sweet potatoes since M/FoMT.
I don't care much about the gardening shows tbh. I've participated in two, and it's both a fail lol (that still counts toward the town plan right?? I just have to participate anyway). The highest I've earned is 900G. I think it's ironic how it's supposed to be a way to earn money, but I still have to spend for the blueprints and materials to make it nice or earn a lot e_e

Yep, failing still counts! You only need to participate. But if it's a bother but you still want the FP and money from winning, just craft 36 weathervanes and 36 (I think 36 fit...I can't remember now) lattice fences and use them alternately, all weathervanes one time and all lattice fences the next. You'll win every time, and one uses only iron and the other uses only lumber...both things you can buy. Easy peasy...as long as you can afford it.
The whole yam/sweet potato thing is nuts.

Spoiler:
Yeah, it does cost a lot. I must have had enough somehow, though...at least the lattice fences only require lumber. I hate losing, lol.
Oh yes, that's actually what the squares I buy are called. Hopia Ube. They're really tasty, though sometimes I like to warm them and eat them with a tiny bit of cinnamon maple syrup. I've never had a purple sweet potato fresh, though. I'd love to; I should see if my parents can order the tubers. Or if they sell the purple ones at that Asian grocery. I hear orange sweet potatoes are sweeter than the purple ones, though. But I still want to try...

It is quite dispiriting when the villagers voice out their dissatisfaction with the garden but hey I already built you guys houses what more do you want from me I'm supposed to be a farmer first ლ(゚д゚ლ)
Yes, hopia is delicious! If you get a hold of the purple kind, you may want to try it mashed then chilled

OK, to make things a bit easier for myself, I'm limiting my backlog to physical releases until I finish them. So NO indies until I get through these three games:
My main reason is if there's a sudden good sale at EB Games and there's a title I want, I need to have a few physical games freed up for trading. I tend to hold onto my physical games until good deals pop up - i'm not overly attached to my games, so it'll be good to have them finished just in case. I can play my digital indies whenever I please, so eh, they're all dropped for now.
Spoiler:
I've gotten Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters Daybreak: Special Gigs for $19. Technically, it's a gift (purchased with a GC)...and I'm not going to be rushing to hurry it. It'll be fit in whenever I don't have any other new game to finish. Psycho-Pass didn't stay on that 50%-off sale long enough for me to decide to buy it, so it's been passed over.
I really feel like playing SoS1 over again now, though. But I bet if I did, I'd find it unsatisfying compared to Trio. Whatever they do with SoS Switch, they're gonna need to keep their game up enough that Trio's huge number of events and good mechanics don't overshadow something new.
Vesperia is proceding well. I have no way to know for sure without looking up spoilery material, but I think I'm probably 60 to 70% done, so no problem finishing it in January, anyway.
I...don't know what's next! Lol. Liar Princess comes out on Feb 12th according to the amazon.ca page, and Code: Realize - Wintertide Miracles comes out on Feb 14th (that date is confirmed...not sure about the other one.) I don't think I'll get Liar Princess right away, though...it's too expensive. So many things coming out in the next half year, but none of them with actual release dates, yet. Makes it hard to plan gaming times ahead.

Spoiler:
Both Caligula and Nelke's dates have been confirmed by their publishers. Caligula is coming out on the 12th of March while Nelke will be released on the 26th of March.

Oh really? Cool, thanks. We probably even had that somewhere in the announcements thread. Heck, I could have posted some of it myself and still wouldn't have the faintest inkling; I can barely remember my own birthdate.
Funny though that those articles didn't pop up when I did a Google search before posting.
I got older articles that said the Japanese release date and said the North American one wasn't confirmed. I wonder if I can force Google to prioritize more recent articles...I'm not sure how the search findings are prioritized.
Well anyway, doesn't change my timeline, since I still won't have anything new to play (other than Wintertide Miracles) before mid-March, so I should be able to squeeze my new game in there. I hope. February is going to be a crazy month, with my dad doing chemo and radiation every single weekday for the whole month and having to commute back and forth to the city each time. All bets are off, I guess. But in terms of my new-game load, I should have time to play TTGH, unless life gets too weird.

An update on DA:Inquisition
- Finished majority of quests found on Emerald Graves and Emprise du Lion maps.
Next goal are
- Takeover a keep found in Emprise du Lion
- Stop procrastinating and start a romance with Cullen already
- Time to lessen some Inner Circle Quests.
Just want to ask for an advice from those who played the game, what level would be a good time for dragon hunting? I deliberately left those bits because those dragons are huge.

Ohhhhh boy, it's been a long time since I went dragon hunting! I think the strongest dragon was in the low 20s or something, so I think around 22 or 23 would be enough. The dragons have different strategies and abilities when confronting them. If I remember right, the Hinterlands dragon is the weakest at level 12 and the strongest is the one in the desert of no consequence at MAYBE 26. It's been a few years since I played Inquisition.cinnamon_yuki wrote:Just want to ask for an advice from those who played the game, what level would be a good time for dragon hunting? Took me forever (...by my standards) but I finally finished Red Dead Redemption 2! I really, really loved it. I wasn't prepared for the emotional roller coaster this game took me on though and it was kind of draining lol. Almost felt like a relief when the credits started rolling.
I guess I'll try to start moving through my backlog soon. I might start with Subnautica, most of my other backlog games are preeeetty long and I need a break from games like that for now. Plus the Resident Evil 2 remake comes out at the end of this month and I know I'll drop everything to play it asap.
