Hmm, then maybe I was remembering it wrong. Can you ask someone on a date during a festival day? If not, then that's how I got it confused. Like I said, I did that research years ago, but I do know for a fact that if someone rejects your date offer when it's not close to a festival day then the next day is guaranteed to be a random event day, and it always draws from a pool of all events, whether you have the requirements to start them or not, sometimes making it seem like nothing activated. That's why it's usually hard to trigger Memories since you keep landing on dead events.

I 100% agree with you there.

I think that’s what they meant. Dates on festival days and you can’t date during town events.

Here’s a question; since RF5 will technically be a console installment, I wonder how they’ll go about using portraits or in-game models for dialogue (like in Oceans). I really enjoyed the art expressions from Frontier and hope they steer back in that direction.
but hey, I’m just happy the game exists.

My guess is that they’ll use moving portraits like how they showcased in the RF4 plus trailer. I feel like we’ve been seeing more and more use of that system in the past several years, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they did it.

I hope they do too! I really like how BanG Dream!! does it so I hope they do something like that for 5, which is what it looked like a little bit from the RF4s preview

IMHO the live 2D portraits for RF4S look kinda off because they're working with art that was done roughly 7-8 years ago and probably wasn't done with moving portraits in mind. If the art is done from scratch, I imagine the live2D portraits looking better.

@shan yes sorry that's what I meant! You can date on festival days. But you can't date through an event as far as I know
For special i get the feeling they'll just move the old portraits to the new game and maybe touch up a few if screen become an issue.
For 5, I kinda want them to do portraits like in Ace Attorney spirit of Justice bc those were lovely

HALO! Long time no see!!!!XD
@FoolishGhoul: And wow, those animated portraits look amazing! I hope RF5 does something like that. As for Special, it seems they only have the animated portraits for the Honeymoon events, as that's the only part of the trailer I saw them move. And I really hope that isn't the final look of the game, as we'll only have (slightly)moving portraits for the new content, and the same blocky, blurry 3D models that really haven't improved from the DS games. Just the model and detail on that sword he had looked atrocious, and shameful for a game remastered for the Switch. That would be like getting Awakening again with them still lacking feet. I understand it's just a remaster and not a remake, but they could have put sharper textures on the blocky models at least...

If I had to choose, I would prefer non-moving portraits, then 3d models, then moving portraits. But I really wouldn't be disappointed with and if those options, persay. Just as long as they look good.
I'm having a hard time deciding if I want new information spread out until release (most likely not starting until RF4S at the earliest), or if I'd prefer they keep hush-hush until a few months before release, and get an avalanche of information.

Does anyone think the 'new episode' option you can chose in RF4 Special will be another story chapter or arc added onto the end? That would be even better than the newlywed content, since to me that part doesn't sound like it'll have all that much to it...just a few skits/cutscenes for each candidate, and maybe something for your child. That's the impression I have of it so far, anyway.
This may have already been thoroughly discussed, but at 14 pages in only a couple days, I've already lost track of a lot of what's been talked about in this thread, lol. I have a vague thought that someone might have suggested the 'new episode' would be a story or chapter added on that introduces some of what will happen in Rune Factory 5. Which would be great.

^I'd really like that. Or even just an expansion of the third arc since there was barely any story there.

I 100% agree with you there.
While I don't watch Critical Role all that much, Laura Bailey voiced Dolce, Matthew Mercer voiced James and Leon, and Sam Riegel voiced Arthur and Jones.

Yeah my sister in law is a huge Critical Role fan so I sent her clips of all those characters. But I would love to see them come back for rf5

Nintendo Dream issue for this month comes out on the 21st. We might get more additional info on RF4S then and maybe tiny details on 5 if it features an interview with Hashimoto.
