I linked that a few posts back already FYI. None of the images are new (they're on the official site), but yes they do look nice.

Well, at least it's not the great RF4 info draught of 2012. Dark times, man...

I'm excited for a harder difficulty! I'm going through the Sharance Maze on Hard right now and it still isn't that bad if you just grind your equipment enough.

Sometime this year, they said on the announcement.

EDIT: Unless you mean RF5 in which case probably sometime late 2020 if not early early 2021.

I feel like they may be aiming for a simultaneous international release and we may get the game on July 26th, as well. This is just my feeling, of course, based on RF4 being a game that is already localized...the only new stuff they'll need to do is whatever was added by the 'honeymoon' section. (Unless they need to also get someone to redo Vishnal's English voice...dunno on that count...but it's not like the voice acting in Rune Factory is abundant.)

This feeling for me is strengthened a little by that rumour we had a while back, that Xseed confirmed to an E3-goer that RF5 was being worked on. Now...I don't think that rumour is true just because we've gotten the game confirmed, but it does lend it slightly more credence. And if it's been a thing for that long, I think RF4S has, as well, and Xseed may have been working on it already.

That's a big fat maybe, of course. But I do feel like there's some reason to hope for the English release to be at the same time as the Japanese release. And Xseed has the habit of not revealing release dates until we're practically right on top of them. I think Trio's date was announced exactly a month before it was released. So not hearing anything from them, even if it lasts a long time, doesn't bode ill, to me.

Just speculation, though.

I feel like in general, Nintendo releases have been being universally released at roughly the same time more often lately. So the fact that RF4s and RF5 were featured in a Nintedo Direct fills me with hope that these games will follow the same pattern!

RF4 took so long to release in the UK as far as I remember, and it was a miracle that we even got a digital release. Please don't let history repeat itself. ;_;

^On the plus side, Switches are region free unlike the 3DS, so you could easily get a playable copy of RF4S or RF5 from the NA eShop and play it on your EU account. If history does repeat itself for whatever reason, at least the workaround is easier(and cheaper) this time.

I think that RF4S will come out in English a few months after the Japanese version; if they were coming out the same day they just would have said so, but the Japanese Direct apparently straight up said July 26th while the American one just said "later this year." I have no doubt that it'll be a shorter localization period than previous games, but I doubt it'll be super close.

It would be best not to feel sure it's gonna be simultaneous because we're all just going on hunches and setting your heart on a specific date wouldn't feel great if it turns out not to be real. I do think they would have said in the Direct that it would be a simultaneous release if Nintendo were the one handling the game, but it's not...it's Xseed. Nintendo can't put a date in their direct if the localizer hasn't revealed it, and Xseed never reveals their release dates this far in advance. I definitely think simultaneous release is a possibility. It's just not one anyone should be hanging their hat on.

I saw that one, too, but it seemed to just be something about it being RF Oceans coming out X many years ago...at least according to the translation. I guess it's Tides of Destiny's 8th anniversary? I didn't link it because it didn't seem relevant, but just in case the translation is all wrong, like it often is, here is the tweet (unless you mean a different one, but this is the most recent one I could find):
