I mean as far as handhelds go we've only had 3 bachelorettes in kimono like outfits. 1 each for the first 3 games. So I don't think it's that overdone. I like when there is a wide variety of clothing types though.

^ Yeah all in all there hasn't actually been too many kimono-wearing bachelorettes. That said, there's also a lot more to eastern fashion and aesthetics than just kimonos. And I'm certain that even if the setting leans more eastern, we'll still get a wide variety of character designs! I don't think they've overdone any one style in any particular game, but then, maybe they have and I just haven't noticed.

I know 5 is still a while off, but I can't help but feel like it's right around the corner. After waiting so long with no news at all, 2020-and-beyond is nothing. :)

What about the main character herself being in a kimono, if the game takes place in an Eastern-inspired area of the world? If the feMC was in a kimono, maybe the male MC would be in hakama? I'm not sure what the male equivalent of a kimono would be.

I don't care so much about what the candidates wear...but it'll be nice if their clothes really reflect who they are and where they're from.

Update: We're probably / hopefully going to get something on this month's upcoming Nintendo Dream issue. Their official Twitter came out with an update on the issue coming out in a few days.
https://www.ndw.jp/nd1905-301/

We're getting a 100 page special on Rune Factory, probably going to be a look back / reflection on the entire series + a staff interview. I don't expect something like RF5 character unveils but high chances are it'll be interviews with Hashimoto on how we get to this point and so on + some new RF4 Special info probably.

EDIT:

The special 100 page section for Rune Factory will contain the following ::
これまでの連載コミックを、100ページの大ボリュームで1冊にまとめた保存版。

ルーンファクトリー3 公式コミック
ルーンファクトリー オーシャンズ 公式コミック
ルーンファクトリー フレンズ
ルーンファクトリー4 公式コミック
ルーンファクトリー4+ ダブル・エース(お試し版)
The Rune Factory 3, 4 and Tides of Destiny Comic by the artist who does the colored ones for Nintendo Dream.
The Rune Factory Friends comic that ran in Nindori before RF4 started getting regular info again. This is different from the Rune Factory Gakuen comic that ended last year.
The Rune Factory 4+ Double Ace comic.

Then from the actual magazine itself ::
ポケットモンスター ソード・シールド
開発資料も!『ヨッシークラフトワールド』インタビュー
Nintendo Direct 2019.2.14から見る今後のラインナップ
・ファイアーエムブレム 風花雪月
・ゼルダの伝説 夢をみる島 コホリントツアー
・スーパーマリオメーカー 2
・ASTRAL CHAIN
・鬼の哭ク邦
ルーンファクトリー4スペシャル&5 インタビュー
テトリス99 スタートアップテクニック
ほか
Rune Factory 4 Special and Rune Factory 5 Interview, presumably with Producer Hashimoto himself.

Like Daisuke said, probably not any character reveals for Rune Factory 5. But I would be happy with any new info.

Things like new content in Rune Factory 4 Special. Some general information on 5. Like, whether it will continue the overhead view style of 1-4, given it is a mainline entry; or if we will get something closer to Frontier or Oceans, due it being on a hybrid system.

And would love any further insight Hashimoto, or whoever is being interviewed, might provide as to the series revival. As having followed what information was available up to the announcement, I expected the series to come back. But there is still plenty of details concerning its return I would like to know or have clarified.

I speculate that at best we'll get new screenshots for RF4 SP and some hints on the exclusive content for the Switch port but the main focus is the interview with Hashimoto so like Osuchin said, much of it may focus on the inner workings as to how the series got greenlit for revival.

A section from Nindori's web page on the upcoming issue translates as "RF5 Announcement Commemoration" so it'll probably cover a range of things not pertaining to the game itself but like will it be a new engine, what kind of themes will it have, how is Hashimoto carrying on with development progress on it so far and so on.

Rune Factory PR's Twitter account put up a link to one of the comics in that 100-page collection of comics. It's 4 pages long, but...yeah, I can't read it, lol. I've never really been into the Bokumono or Rune Factory comics anyway, but for anyone who wants to see that tweet and click the link for themselves, here it is:

The Rune Factory comics that ran in Nintendo Dream have all been scanned or uploaded in some form anyways. All episodes of Rune Factory 4+ Double Ace are on the official website for RF3 + 4 Platinum Collection from 2017. And if I recall, someone on tumblr translated / scanlated all of the Rune Factory 4 comics. I like their art, I prefer it to the manga that ran in Dengeki Maoh back in 2012.

Bookwalker also does Apple payments; that's how I usually buy through the app on my iPad. The digital version doesn't come with the bonus comics though. You'll have to buy the physical version for that (and it takes a bit to arrive from Amazon Japan).

Here 'ya guys go:

Aww, I thought I would get the comic too.
The interviews about 5 don't really say much, just that they're excited for it and want people to like it.

Thanks for the scans cher.

@ the interview contents
As I suspected. The RF4SP section is more substantial interview-wise but most of it is just expounding on what we know already about it.

Interesting to note is who the Assistant Producer for 4SP and 5 is as revealed in the Nindori interview: Shiro Maekawa, a SEGA / Sonic Team veteran who left the aforementioned company in 2008 and nowadays acts as a game planner for Marvelous. He's known for having worked on the scenarios of Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes.

This is his first time working with a Producer role and probably his first relevant game in over 11-12 years but he is still an assistant so Hashimoto will have the final say on a lot of design choices they're working with. Either way, I'm excited to see where this goes.
