That reminds me! :) A tip I read suggested to not use any healing items until you get to the boss. It's actually 3 tries for the whole dungeon, and when you respawn it's with full health and stamina. Unless you really struggle with the enemies on those floors, it's probably better to save your healing items for the boss. (I'm not sure about bosses...but when you die on regular floors the floor doesn't reset.)

Next day edit: Has anybody else gotten the Gala Skirt? I was so excited...and your feet clip through it even while walking. I see why it's "for dates". The top is still nice, though.

I got the entire gala outfit, but I was disappointed with it - specifically the shoes

I actually like the outfit you can get trading badges from the winter festival A LOT. Too bad it will take 2 years to get all 3 pieces since I don't think you can get badges any other days besides the actual winter festival days :(

I reeeally wish shoes weren't attached to pants/skirts...but I guess I can make the concession since there's a fair number of outfits. And they mix and match pretty well. :)

(Another clothing question: is it possible to recolor clothing? Somehow I doubt it but...we can recolor basically everything else so...boy would that be nice.)

Which somehow reminds me that I've got a whole new batch of screenshots to post...and one of them is just cute and not a visual glitch!

Is there somewhere in the game to buy weapons and clothing? I'm still sporting my super duper mega spiked practice sword at level 21 (or maybe 22 at this point). Or am I expected to craft everything?

(I'm going in super-duper blind so as to not spoil anything)

Clothing is almost exclusively bought - except accessories - from Carol's shop in Central Plaza. On the other hand I've crafted all of my weapons. There are a few rare weapons/armor that drop in specific dungeons. You don't really NEED those though, upgrading attack/defense with what you can make/buy regularly (plus loading up your house) is more than enough. (They can look cool though.)

The only weapon exception is the "knuckle"...which I THINK was from Total Tools.

Oh man all of you guys' tips are fantastic thank you!! I'll go out and grab better armor, add some furniture to my house, and build a better weapon. I have accessories that have been pretty helpful, and I'm almost done building my first cooking set so I can start making food!

I ended up getting the Venom I needed from the fish enemies and a quest Arlo gave me... right after I told the Civil Corps I needed them to find me Venom. Welp. Now I have 30 Venom for no reason.

I've been pretty slowly pacing this cuz I'm getting used to the mechanics - I built the bridge but haven't beaten the Cave Island boss yet. I have the level 2 worktable and am working on a bunch of commissions. This game is REALLY fun!

Who have people married so far? I am having a tough time choosing a candidate, I love all the characters I've met so far!

Yay, I'm glad it worked out with the venom collection! :)

And yeah! Another tip, in case somebody didn't investigate it yet. The little panel by the door in your house, you can use it to check how much extra attack/defense/stamina your furniture is netting you. There's a limit per house "level" too - I tended to overdo it with stamina upgrades in early game and didn't realize it. Whoops!

As for marriage, I haven't even started dating anyone yet. I didn't start gifting anyone till early summer and am only just now getting a couple of people close to "ask-out-able" range. It's tough having so many options! A harem is an option...but a scary one.

I married Qiwa. He's honestly more of a joke spouse. All of the Hulu brothers (except the one you can't marry) are just kinda there as options, but they're not overly unique from each other besides whatever their focus is. The option IS nice though, despite no development or little to no plot integration. They're short and rotund, not bombshells in the looks department, and are a little more quirky. Honestly a breath of fresh air.

I chose Qiwa as he's the one into fishing and I too love fishing (lol). His dialog is usually about his favourite pastime, but after marriage he's very sweet, worrying about you working too hard. A nice round boi.

I married Gust. Very early in, too. He accepted my (bf/gf) confession instantly when I'd barely gotten to 4 hearts, and then the minute I got to 8 hearts, he (Gust relationship spoiler)
Spoiler:
sprung a surprise proposal on me!
I think Gust and...Mint?...are the only ones in the game who can do that.

THe next update is supposed to add more post-marriage content as well as extra quest/story content for some of the bachelors. Lucky for me, I believe Gust is one of them. (Gust, Mint and Arlo are the bachelors they've put the most development into. For the girls, I think Emily and Ginger and maybe Phyllis? Not sure, there.)

EDIT: Also, I think I'm going to put Portia on pause until the update mid-late May (afaik). I'd just rather play it that way, and right now, Sims 4 is more fun to play around with casually. MTaP doesn't lend itself to casual play sessions, and I'm busier than usual, right now.

I haven't married anyone, but Arlo IS at ten hearts. I keep thinking about dating all of my favorite candidates simultaneously, but there are real consequences if you get caught, such as losing relationship points, or if you don't give someone an apology bear (they are extremely expensive in badges) in time, there's a chance they become stranger status again!

Oh interesting, I didn't know there would be more updates to the characters and that only a few of them have more development put into them. I currently like a fair number of characters, so I'm kinda curious as to how their stories play out.

I hear ya - Sims 4 is my go-to casual play game rn because I can set a timer, play for a bit, then get up and be done. Portia I'm in a cycle of 'just one more day' and play 2 hours at a time >.<

And yea, I'm not going to be getting multiple girlfriends/boyfriends. It sounds like waaaaay too much of a hassle.

There's a Ps4 achievement to "accept Gust's proposal." I can turn that proposal down if it appears, yes?

Yes, the option to refuse does appear. You can even refuse VERY MEANLY, if you want, lol. I think there's an achievement for marrying each candidate. I know there's one for Phyllis, too, that can only happen if you marry her. That would make it awfully hard to get all the achievements. Well, Switch doesn't even have trophies, so I guess I don't have to worry about it.

With all these achievements I hope it's still possible to break up after accepting a proposal. Completionists won't do very well with these trophies. (Maybe if the trophies stick around with reloading a save file...)

I think I've about hit my pre-May-update limit. I'm gonna get to a LITTLE better stopping point but I'm in the middle of a timed quest I'm fairly sure I can't finish because an item I need isn't appearing in the store it needs to be in. It's also supposed to be found in the wild...but it's not spawning there either. It's worth trying a little longer. Either way I think if I stop now by the time the update comes out I'll be itching to pick the game back up.

Is it nitre for pigments? I had to buy large planter boxes from the Church store, as well as nitre seeds (they're trees)...I did 2 and had to wait quite a while for them to grow up, but then I can harvest around 30 nitre per tree each time they come ripe. If the May update really does bring us level with where the PC version is, then the clothing store should sell pigments, thankfully, but right now the only way you can get nitre in the game that I know of is by growing the trees yourself.

I think you can build the boxes yourself but it was quicker and easier buy them, so I did. The only way I know of to get the seeds is also to buy them from the Church store.

That said, though...I've already decided to set the game aside until the update, too, as I not only have RL stuff to get done, even in my gaming, I really should focus on Dreams until I get that scene made. :/ It'll be more fun to play once everything is updated and we hopefully have less bugs to deal with, anyway.
