See my post just above, Bluie, if you didn't already; I got around the bug, though I don't know if it works the same way for everybody. I still don't think I actually failed a mission so I honestly don't know how it ended up that way.

EDIT: Oh wait...yes and no on that one! I did fix the problem I had at first, on loading my most current file...but then they sent me a letter saying that phase of the bridge was done and new commissions were going up...and now I can't accept the main missions any more. (!?!!) And I don't even have a failed mission in my log anywhere to blame it on. So it seems this Portia Bridge section of the main story is just bugged. Argh.

So, I ended up not getting My Time At Portia for the Switch. Maybe it's best I wait longer.

D: Good « Harvest Goddess » so this is another game breaking bug. I can't tell if I've gotten around it...though the bridge isn't BUILT yet. The quests are done but I don't recall seeing construction on it.

Harvest Moon kawaii, that might be for the best for now. I'm sure it'll go on sale on Switch at some point and maybe by then we'll have another bug fixing patch out! :)

Kikki, did you ever find the time slider? If I'm correct it should be under game options as "Game Speed". (Would help if they'd keep the jargon consistent...)

I think if I hit another game breaking bug I may be done. I've hit most of the building milestones, so this can sit on the shelf till all the possible patches are done. Right now my only issue is Mint still being bugged. If the bridge doesn't bug out maybe he'll fix himself once it gets built but...we'll see.

Yeah, I found it, Mikodesu, thanks :)

This is a weird bug. But I did read that the Portia Bridge mission had all kinds of problems when it was being tested in Early Access in January, so probably in a build after the one we go. I guess they forgot to fix some of it for the console version with this update because no one had complained about it, yet.

Apparently one version of the problem is that the game never progresses beyond this point...the bridge never finishes. Not sure if that's part of the one we're up against now, or if this is just the one that stops at not being able to take the main commissions. The game would still progress in that case, though Higgins would have a pretty big advantage over you in your monthly showdowns, which stinks by itself. Right now I'm going to wait it out...I'll let the 9 days or whatever pass and see if this second part of the bridge gets finished, or not. If it doesn't, then we're kind of stuck until we get a fix. I still cannot take the bridge missions (though they just announced today in my game that the bridge was done...the missions are still on the board, but...maybe THAT is the glitch?) but I DID get to take the Eufala Tunnel mission, so I'm honestly baffled about what's going on.

Honestly, they were utterly nuts to have knuckled under to pressure from shareholders. That or the shareholders were crazy stupid not to realize how crippling this is to the game and thus how limiting it will be for sales. Once a game gets a reputation for being horribly buggy, it never really loses that, even if they really did fix everything. A good portion of people will always remember the bad news about it and shy away from it. -__-

EDIT: Got a chance go to out to the Portia Bridge...and it is indeed finished. So it appears that this second 'Portia Bridge Bug' is just that the commissions for the bridge don't disappear from the board even after the bridge is finished, but it IS finished, so you can't actually accept any missions to work on it any more even though they're still on the baord. Which is mildly annoying, but it doesn't actually hinder your progress, so...*shrug*.

All of that regarding the Portia Bridge is REALLY weird, because I finished the bridge without any problems at all long before the patch was even announced. In fact, I've done several missions out in the desert, including storyline stuff, all prior to the patch. I've played my Switch file for about ten minutes after the patch came out, and got annoyed at the lag when dealing with the menus, so i haven't bothered with it since. It honestly sounds like they took several steps BACKWARDS with this patch somehow.

I wonder how the console port got so screwed up. I've sunk 30+ hours into the PC version so far, and I've encountered NOTHING even half as annoying as the things I ran into on the Switch. There's been a few glitches to be sure (extremely minor things like clipping and QQ sunk halfway into that floor that I've seen ONCE so far), but honestly, it plays like a completely different game on the PC, at least thus far.

Yeah, I do think the update actually introduced new problems. I'm not sure if the Portia Bridge stuff is that or not...I didn't see anyone on console complaining of it before the update, but now that it's out, there's quite a few (almost everyone playing at this part of the game who has the update) who say they're having issues.

But in general, the issue in this case seems to be simply that the commissions stay on the board even after the job is over. That may have been the first bug as well...it's kind of hard to say, since I did have one failed mission on my slate that I don't remember having before.

I can't play on PC so no matter how well it runs there, it's just not an option for me. (This laptop doesn't even have a dedicated graphics card, and external cards are outrageously expensive.) It's console or nothing, in my case.

PS: Albert just said something weird to me. "Cricket! I think you are good. You deserve better than those girls." Cricket is my character, so that's not weird but...who are 'those girls'? Also...I just finished doing a quest to the Eufala Tunnel unexpectedly. Remington gave me a reeeally nice weapon. Wasn't expecting that! I hope he's not expecting me to give it back now that I'm done. But now that I've opened a huge chunk of the land, I'm gonna have to craft a bunch more Dee-Dee Stops. Man, will I never be done with those?

Need lots of Dee Dee Stops. Carry them around, just in case. Think it was like 15 total maybe.

My game's been okay. Crashed twice since patch but everything's working and progressing. I'm near the end-game missions so not gonna restart, no way.

Still fun and the relic finder upgrade is really useful. New personal missions are good too.

Edit: Crash #3. Character was walking around all bent over or looking up. Riding her llama made her head wobble like her neck's broken. Then it crashed after a couple of days of that mess. Weird.

I am certainly not trying to advocate people spend additional money for a PC copy if they can, btw. That was not my intention. I was more marveling at the stark contrast between how the game runs. I really feel bad for console players - heck, I would rather play games on a console any day over PC. This is a rare exception, alongside Stardew Valley, where I preferred PC over console.

Yeah, I think i'm gonna call it quits until further notice. I put 30 hours into this game and that's a lot more than I usually spend with my games these days. Hopefully the issues get all around fixed next time.

I just did the Winter Solstice yesterday and I'm working on 'The Driller' (nearly done...just one more steel shell! I also nearly have the Green Wall quest done, so my progress is pretty okay) and I saw Albert walking out of town toward me and noticed he wanted to hang out...but I don't have time. I NEVER have time for random hang-outs. This is a busy game! So I went on about my business. But then when I decided to go check the commissions board while my carbon steel bars were crafting (endless flood of carbon steel bars...I really wish they had balanced the game better and not made EVERYTHING in the latter 2/3rds of the game take carbon steel bars) and noticed that there were now FOUR people waiting outside my house with hang-out requests. Geez. It's nice to be popular, I guess...but who has time for all this? I just hang out with my game spouse and ignore everyone else, tbh. There simply isn't enough time in a game day to waste several hours on making friends.

There's also a blueprint I really need. I want to upgrade to the Level 3 Assembly Station but I haven't yet gotten the blueprint to make the Electric Furnace, so I can't make the Stainless Aluminum I need. Having the blueprints arrive randomly is not the best game mechanic ever, I've got to say...especially since I have to wait 6 days to get each one at this point and you can only go for one at once. :? I always have a blueprint request on the go with the Research Center, but you still end up waiting on ones you need but haven't gotten yet.

EDIT: The Portia Bridge Commissions are still on my board. Looks like the glitch is that they just never disappear, even after it's long built and the commissions can no longer be accepted. It clutters up the board a lot...but I guess that's the only real problem.

EDIT 2: The game still allows commissions for stuff that you can't possibly make yet. I think that's just a mistake on the devs part, not a glitch, so I don't know if it'll ever get fixed. :/ I took a com. for concrete, thinking it was a simple recipe...I can't possibly remember all of this stuff accurately...but you can't make concrete until after you've gotten to the Western Plateau, which is still quite a way off, for me. I wish they'd take that out...make it so that only POSSIBLE commissions can go onto the board, so you don't accidentally take one you literally cannot do and then have to lose rep points when you inevitably fail it.

Erg. Decided to give level 3 of the Sewage plant a try. Did quite well, until about halfway thru....software error forced the game to close. Bah.

Redid that morning, then went thru it again. No error this time. Now I can pay the Civil Corps to get stuff from there for me, too :P

What a shame you guys are seeing so many crashes. :? I'm wondering if there's some sort of memory limit issue relating to the game being so long that could be contributing...not that we can do anything about it. :/

Has anybody noticed lag on Sophie's ranch post patch? I never lagged there before the patch there but now it's pretty bad. (I've been actively avoiding the place cause I'm afraid it'll crash...)

Also, I got through Level 4 of the Sewage Plant, beware the platforming challenges, though the whole thing ran great. Word of warning about the Lion's Claws though. They don't seem to cause any issues outside of the Sewage Plant but inside of it they cause lag.

No more software error crashes after #4 (mining in the swamp ruin) but my character randomly looks like she has a broken neck. Very disconcerting. Her head is bent to the right or flopped back like a Pez dispenser. I'd say this is a graphics glitch - not game breaking but sure looks bad.

Argh! I was rearranging my yard after upgrading my house to level 2, and ended up accidentally putting the large planter box with the nitra tree in my inventory, so I ended up losing it! Then, I was talking to Xu and button mashing, so I ended up mashing my way into giving him a gift of the first item that comes up in the list of gifts - my iron sword. SIGH :( I have the Lion claws or whatever they are called from finishing the sewage area, but I really don't like them because there they're slow and when you combo (button mash), they have this weird charge up that you can't NOT do, and leaves you open to attack.

On another note, I've been playing around with the voice over. Purely from a sound stand point, Chinese isn't my most favorite sounding language (I also dislike the way several other languages sound, so please don't be offended), but the tone at least seems to fit the characters, except Tody - he sounds like he's 100 years old.

The English work isn't too bad either, but I laughed out loud hearing Arlo. It fits him, but they totally did the slight, ultra-refined sounding British accent for him on purpose, I'm sure. And I swear Mint has two different voice actors. One is super nasally and quintessential nerd sounding, the other is much nicer sounding and not nasally at all. Gust is very slightly effeminate sounding to me, but it works well for him IMO.

Ouch, ryume....both those mistakes are painful :( Moving large planters was worse in earlier builds (watched playthrus on YouTube) because even picking them up without putting them in your inventory removed whatever was in them.

I, too, have accidentally given away my sword. It sucks. It sucks even worse when the person you gave it to hates it.
