I think they’re the same from what I’ve watched.Kross lover/fan wrote:^ yes you can still date/marry the special characters. Not sure if the requirements have changed or not tho.

On the topic of the special candidates: Can I take them to romantic festivals, such as the Fireworks Festival, or no? I'm especially curious about Won in that regard, if anyone has any info.
Experiencing the romantic festivals with somebody is a big deal to me, so for a first play through I always make sure to pick characters I can share them with. I'd like to romance Won for my first play through I think, but I probably won't if I can't take him to the festivals, etc.

I don’t think they did since you had to invite them right there on the beach. The guide doesn’t mention whether they participate in Starry Night either, but it only says the MT boys send you letters for that. So I’m guessing none of the special candidates participate in festivals until you’re married in the GBA version.

Nope, no word on the release date. Don't worry, if there IS news about the release date, it won't slip by unnoticed. We'd be all over it.
If you want to keep on top of announcements, you can follow Xseed's Twitter. Xseed never announces release dates much in advance. Going by their patterns over the last several years, they announce about a month in advance of the release of games that will be available in physical form. I have seen them allow other news sites be the first to announce a game at least once before, but even in that case, Xseed retweets the announcement, so it's a good thing to keep track of to get the news as early as possible.
I'm not really expecting it that soon, tbh. RF4S will almost definitely come out first, and it probably won't be out before January since they changed their RF4S page from saying '2019' to just 'this winter'. (Though it'd be great if it came out in December!) They also have Heroland coming out any time now ('fall 2019') and Sakuna of Rice and Ruin is also due out 'this winter'. Then they have two other games somewhere on the go, that are just TBA right now. (SoS: FoMT is also still listed as just TBA on their site.)
I really don't know when to expect SoS: FoMT, but I don't think its going to be all that soon. I guess anything could happen, but we'll definitely pass the news on really quickly; FOGU members are really vigilant when it comes to any Bokumono news.
