I’m really liking the festival music. Some of the other remixes have been a little hit or miss, but that one sounds good.

^^^ Yes, hope to see this again as well. I like how FoMT gave each girl their own unique wedding look. I just hope they don’t get lazy like in HMDS, where they made artwork of all the bachelorettes in wedding attire, yet never actually put them in the game :(

As long as it's done cutely at least.

I know it's awful but my kid in AWL sometimes grinds my gears. Bragging about loving animals more than I do and never even feeding them. As long as they went cute and not cocky it'd be cute.

I had a dream that they announced the release date to be in early March 2020 and then I woke up and it wasn't real :(

A clip of going to Gotz for house upgrades. I think. :) At first my translation app wouldn't touch this...it said it couldn't be translated, which I've never seen before. I had to manually select Japanese to English translation options to TELL it what to do, but then it actually gave me a translation that completely makes sense.

"If you have money and materials, ask Gotz to expand or renovate your home or zoo. The bigger the shed, the more animals you can keep."

It seems you'll need to collect stones now too. In the original you only needed lumber. It's a nice touch.

Also, it looks like the kitchen comes with the first home upgrade?

Yeah they were kinda useless originally besides being nice fencing material and the one recipe that needed them. So it’s nice to see stones getting more use.

I guess this means they’ll also be easier to find, back then you could only get new stones by waiting for a hurricane to bring them I think.

My translator app still won't translate these Tweets for some reason unless I manually tell it what language to translate from. But at least they're making more sense than before. Could it be that previously the translator was assuming these were in Chinese or something, and that's why the translations were so very bad? Anyway! One more clip, of being healed by the hotsprings:

"If you are tired, you can take a break at the foot of Mothers Hill before you collapse. Healed in a hot spring, recovers a lot of physical strength!"

This is the first time I've paid attention to the remix of the winter theme and it's interesting what they decided to do with it! It doesn't have the same melancholy sound as the original (which was mostly strings if I remember correctly), but it does have a certain nostalgic feel to it. The use of a choir/voice synth sound for the accompaniment is really interesting actually - it makes me think of the holiday season and Christmas carols, especially combined with the melody on bells. There's also some obligatory sleigh bell of course which is a little more cliche in "winter/snowy" video game themes but it's not too in-your-face in this particular track.

I actually like this newer version of the winter theme instead. (I mean, I don't have a problem with any of the remixed/re-visioned songs.) But I definitively like this one over the original. The og always depressed the heck out of me. It always felt like it was meant for a sad cut-scene but was scratched into being the winter theme. So I definitely enjoy this new one a lot more. I enjoy how it sounds bittersweet.

Agreed. I'm somewhat nostalgic for the original winter theme, but it did always make me feel kinda depressed, and it wouldn't take long before I was like, gosh I can't wait for spring!

I'm kinda curious how different the songs will sound when you're about to pass out.

Never heard any of the original FoMT music, so went to listen. That's AWFUL. It's not that it's an ugly sound, but it's so exhausting! I have trouble listening to heavy-sounding or soothing music without going clonk...that would have done me in, in fifteen minutes. It just sounds like the music is draaaaaagging itself on, like it's about to drop dead. Yikes. Glad they changed it up!

Though I think my favourite winter theme will forever be from Story of Seasons.

Hopefully there’s more to do in winter in general. In the older games growing crops in winter wasn’t a thing until now.

I actually hope they don’t add winter crops to the remake. I always liked the downtime of not having to raise crops in the winter, and I feel like having an actually accessible mine is a good tradeoff compared to the newer games where mining isn’t really a thing. I wouldn’t mind it if they added something else for people who don’t really enjoy mining all winter long, though.

That’s really the only problem I had with games where time stops indoors— you pretty much have to stand outside all day to wait for things like the Starry Night Festival.
