I always have a problem with the backlog, so much that I stopped making a list
My problem is that I cycle through two hobbies: gaming and studying a few sciences (as a hobby). With very long or grindy games, I tend to switch over to studying before I finish them, and after the studying phase is finished, I can't remember what I did in the game and usually that prevents me from continuing. Such a shame.
Right now I'm playing HM:ToTT, but before I had a long study phase again, and before that I started Etrian Odyssey, the very first one. It was awesome, but I wonder if I can ever get back into it. What floor was I on again?.. What was I doing and what was it all about?.. I feel disoriented just from thinking about it
One solution I've found is to write up notes for myself on what I did last in a game and plan to do next, whenever I feel that I'm going to drop a game in favor of studying. Then later I can go back and reread the notes to continue from where I left off. That doesn't always help if I've forgotten all characters and plot...
And it's the same with my studies, I tend to drop them in favor of gaming very abruptly. But there's no 'I can't remember any of it!' side effect as far as studying is concerned.

I love Arthur, but he's third to Leon and Dylas. I purchased the Archival edition, and the art book is amazing! The cover is a bit thin, but the overall pepper quality is great, and it features art from ALL the Rune Factory games, plus developer notes. It's nearly 2" thick as well!. Well worth the $60 price tag
I discovered ocean fishing in FFXIV, so my fishing hit level 80 before anything else today lol. My bard and white mage are both level 74, so whatever. I have that 40 quests left between Stormblood and Shadowbringers as of now. I just wanna finish the MSQ, so I haven't bothered with too many optional dungeons or trials.

Yaaas, got my copy of RF4S archival edition! I'm excited!! Happy for everyone who got theirs too!
I haven't opened it just yet. I decided to wait until I finish my FE3H playthrough. I'm pretty close to the end on that one though so I'll probably be able to play tomorrow.
Can't wait to get in there with everyone else.
I've no idea what character I'll marry Frey to. I went with Dylas in my first playthrough, and now I'm being torn in just about every other direction.

Oh man, this game. Doug thinks bread is a 'spongy energy vampire', and his BIG SECRET to forging great equipment is to
take it off before working on it. Lol, the craziness of this cast is what's fun, though. But I forgot how sickening they made the Jones + Nancy couple. I remember them being schmaltzy, but I forgot that there's at least one entire event based around their
twoo wuv. I get that they wanted to show that they're super-in-love pair, which would be nice, but they laid it on so thick it chokes you, instead. A subtler touch would have been more enjoyable. The whole 'a friendly secret' event is enough to make one want to eat dirt to try to balance all that saccharine.
Though it's loads of fun playing this again. There are so many ways to proceed, it's a little different every time. And how did I not realize that you get Princess Points for killing monsters? (Though only up to 100 PP, so 50 monsters per day.) And the Object X trick. WHY DID I NOT KNOW IT? Cook up a stack of 9 rocks or branches or iron or any trash item in the medicine station, and it'll be a failure, which results in Object X. If you eat an ObX, it will inflict EVERY status ailment on you. But each time you get a status ailment, it raises your resistance skill in that ailment, so...eating up a stack of ObX every night before bed will ramp up your resistances and raise your vitality and so on, and since you're going to bed anyway, that'll give you back your HP and RP and remove the effects. Such a good trick, and I'd never heard of it. I never made an Object X before!
EDIT: If Vishnal's events all pop up first, I may go for him, but in the meanwhile, that poor fella who I THOUGHT I'd go for the very first time I played, may be waiting yet again for his turn to have his own file. Maybe the fourth time will be the charm for you, Vishnal, because your current rival does stuff like this...

^ As a person who’s married Dylas, Leon, & Doug (in that order) in the original, you REALLY can’t go wrong with Dylas
For me, I wonder if I should go for someone new this time to complete the list or should I go for someone I’ve already married :/ (I’m not asking I’m just thinking out-loud).
I’m not interested in any of the others but if I get to know them that might change...but idk.
I’ll play through and see who catches my eyes.
Far as backlog goes I’m going to see if I can complete yoshi’s crafted world (too lazy to capitalize) really quick before continuing RF4. I want to complete as many games possible before AC comes out. But when I played crafted world yesterday, it started cramping up my hands and hurting a little. I’ll have to be careful not to push it...

Just finished part 1 of RF4S on my Lest file. I forgot how much I feel during this game. I know I'm going to marry Dylas in my main file once I get to it. For now, I'm gonna do my best to marry everyone so I can get their another episode story unlocked. I know Dolce is my favorite bachelorette at least even after all this time.

Hey, Ronin. Do you mean their Newlywed Mode? Because the Another Episode mode is available for free right now on the Nintendo e-shop.
So, I beat the second dungeon in Rune Factory 4 Special. I have a monster barn and the chicken monster (don't know what it's called), but I don't have any fodder or a fodder bin yet, so I feel bad for it. I'm nearly in the middle of Spring, Year 1. I'm making lots of progress in going after Arthur. It's easy to give him gifts during Spring. It took me a while to do the fishing tutorial/request because I forgot to give the fish to Vishnal after catching the fish for like 3 days. Whoops!

The 'Another Episode' stuff is not the Newlywed content...they're separate from each other, as one is DLC and the other isn't...you can watch the 'Another Episode' bits just by DLing them, but you only experience the Newlywed stuff by actually getting married to each person in the game (to unlock their separate newlywed content). Though it's a good idea to go get the Another Episode DLC while you can, if you want it, since it's only free for a month, iirc. (Though it's just narrated episodes a bit like a radio story or something; I read/watched Ventuswill's and for me, it was not very interesting.) The Newlywed stuff is actually playable in part...you don't have to just sit there and read or listen to it, you can actually participate.
I'm about to go to Leon Karnak, and trying to remember if Maya Road is supposed to be done before or after that. I can't seem to do any damage to the Maya Road monsters. I'm gonna try different elemental stuff but so far nothing's working...I know I've done this twice before but I can't remember it all.
EDIT: Ah, I wish we could see the other contestants in the Harvest Festival doing their appeals. Their questions are funny...I'm betting their answers might be even funnier.

It seems I'm going to spend some time in Pokemon. They have Dynamax Mewtwo for challenges (with awesome rewards) and Kanto Starters for Pokemon Day.
I'm trying not to pressure myself too much in RF4 but people over the Xseed server were determined. Some got Dolce already on Spring 18. I'm in relax mode though since Arthur is already unlocked. It would be a different story if I am after Leon, however.

Howdy ya'll just wanted to talk about some of the games I'm playing.
I just downloaded Rune Factory 4: Special and am excited to hopefully play through and actually finish this game this go round. Despite sinking hours into RF:ToD and RFF and RF3 I had a hard time sinking time into RF4 when it came out and I'm not sure why? I know it is supposedly the best of the games in the series but something about it didn't click for me when I originally played it on the 3DS.
I also am playing through FE: Three Houses again, I finished the cindered shadows DLC, and now I'm working on another Black Eagles playthrough... where I will save scum to S-rank both Yuri and Jeritza as M!Byleth so that I can officially have done all of the M!Byleth with other men.
I also made the grave mistake of pre-downloading Animal Crossing: New Horizons... and the icon just sitting on my switch is torturing me.

Putting this behind a cut cuz I can't remember if anyone is playing the game for the first time, here.
EDIT: Argh, this may be impossible. I'm determined to go for Dylas this time (Vishnal just lost his appeal somewhere in the last five or so years, I guess...I'm just not into helpless bumblers, no matter how earnest and hard-working they are. And even though I've already seen his required sub-event!) as I like to see what different people are like, but Leon is making it
very hard. He's so much more my type than Dylas, who is an adorable tsundere, but I like a sexy mature guy quite a bit more. Plus the way he's always such a brat, but at the same time, is always on the lookout for ways to help everyone around him. Dang it. I just have to keep reminding myself that I have lot of save slots and can try Dylas and revert to a file for Leon if Dylas doesn't live up to hopes.

Yeah!!! I finished Shadowbringers last night! I'll be honest, Heavensward is still my favourite when it comes to expansions, but I did have a great time regardless. Urianger continues to be my favourite character - gosh I love him and his beautiful face. Please never put the goggles and hood back on. I still have the 5.1 and 5.2 content to get through - super hyped to finally play the NieR raid.
I'm a little miffed at my SiL for spoiling something even though she probably didn't mean too. Her phone case reveals the identity of a specific character that's incredibly important to the Shadowbringers' plot. While he keeps his face hidden, as soon as I saw him in-game for the first time I went 'Oh, it's -character name- whom my SiL obsesses over and had too much merch of'. So the 'big reveal', which probably would have had a much bigger impact on me if I had been blind to it, was still emotional and well done, but had me stewing inside. Like, I get that you like this character and wanna share and whatever, but ffs, have a little more care with something like that around people still playing. I'm not going to dictate who/what you put on your personal property, but maybe not shoving a spoiler character in my face is a good idea.
Anyways, once I get though the rest of the available plot, I'm probably going to take a bit of a break and play some Grisaia Trilogy or Pokemon Shield. I didn't expect to blitz through the game this fast and there's quite a chunk of time before Animal Crossing. I could keep playing and do a bunch of optional content, but I think it might be good to take a little break as well. Might still play a little in the evenings though - mainly because my FC is most active then.

I decided to hurry up and have Frey start dating Dylas, before Leon can become too serious a temptation. (I'm not into the idea of 'hareming', so being already committed to one person is a deterrent.) I'd heard that most confessions at only 7 hearts failed, but my very first confession was...I don't know yet. He said he has to meet Frey in the town square the next day. I'm assuming that's an acceptance, though I no longer remember how it went. But why would you need to formally meet someone in the town square just to say "hey, stop pulling my leg, you joker"? So I guess it's probably accepted?
I also heard some folks can't get their 2nd arc to trigger before a season or two have passed but in my game it triggered the minute it was able to, for some reason. I wasn't even looking for it. I don't know if that's an improvement in the game, or if I just got lucky. Town event are coming one right after the other, too, so even though it's only been two seasons, I've seen about 12 of them. I guess they could have tweaked it a little? I really don't know.
Gotta work on increasing my various crafting levels. I'm only 32 in forging, and about 37 in cooking. Feels kinda low.
EDIT: Yep, success

Frey is now dating Dylas. (Though I always name her 'Freya' so that calling her just 'Frey' is a nickname only the spouse uses, after marriage.) It was on her birthday, too, which I hadn't even realized...someone just handed me a present out of the blue. And the day she started dating Dylas was the very day before Valentine's, which also caught me by surprise, lol. Guess I got that just in time! And on the same day, arc 2 triggered. Fall 11 was a very busy day for me, in-game! I hope I'm not too underlevelled...I'm 71. But it's on Easy, so even if I am, it should be okay. Hopefully. I seem to have forgotten as much about the game as I remember.

Decided to create a small backlog entry as a reminder to finish some games.
I bought Rune Factory 4SE, but I’m not going to play it at the moment because I have other games that I am focusing on at the moment:
Harvest Moon Animal Parade
Project X Zone 2 (I enjoyed the first game so I decided to play the second as well and it is an improvement over the first one)
I also sometimes play a bit of Virtua Fighter 5 in order to improve my skills and become less bad at the game.
I try and keep the amount of larger games I play limited to a small amount (1-3) at a time in order to not be completely distracted from life. Playing Project X Zone probably wasn’t a good idea though...crossovers can introduce you to new games that you may end up wanting to play.

I beat Act 2 of Rune Factory 4 Special! I don't remember going through it this fast, but this is good for the backlog. However, just finishing the story isn't enough; I gotta unlock the Newlywed Mode stories for the bachelorettes and finish all of Eliza's requests before considering this file good and done. Then gonna do it all over again with Frey.
