I have been pretty busy getting ready for spring lately, but I did manage to get some game time in this weekend. I did pick up Skytree Village and powered through to finally get the ores needed for the final house upgrade and furniture needed for marriage. Funny thing is I didn't even have to propose to Cyril, his reverse proposal triggered without even trying, lol!

I also picked up Portia again and finally got the factory! It is pretty handy, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't connect to the regular storage boxes which I had all neatly organized. Not so with the factory storage. The story is able to progress again, just found the second key, I am fairly sure I may be able to finish it before Animal Crossing, at least that's my hope.

Between these games and the busy real-life planting amping up, I think I will be able to stay occupied until the 20th, especially if I avoid watching the Animal Crossing direct again, lol. I did go ahead and order the companion guide too, which I never do, that's my level of excitement and anticipation. Less than a month now, lol!

I have finished the story for Rune Factory 4 Special, but I'm not done with this file yet! I've got to marry all the girls and get ready for New Game +. So far, I've only met the requirements to date Amber and Clorica, but I've seen Dolce's event; she just needs to get to 7 hearts. I've only seen one of Xiao Pai's events and I haven't seen Forte's or Margaret's yet.

As for Eliza's requests, I need to ship a level 10 veggie (I have a level 9 turnip seed bag), ship all non-golden veggies (no idea what I'm missing, but more seeds should unlock once I finish the level 10 veggie one), harvest a Blue Crystal (growing), harvest an Autumn's Grass (growing), and cut down a Twinkle Tree (growing).

Annnnd I finished the available Eden raids. Holy « Puppy Doodoo », did we ever have a clutch victory with Shiva. The moment she was about to wipe us, we took her out. Everyone in the chat was screaming, cheering, or crying. With that, my FFXIV journey is at a pause (besides helping out with raids and such when needed). I finished before Animal Crossing and now I have a good chunk of time to play the games I set aside.

The Grisaia Trilogy is going to be quite an undertaking, but I'm a fast reader, so let's see how long it'll take for me to finish them. If I do get them done with ample time left, I might crack open Cold Steel III. I should probably prioritize Pokemon Shield but... eh. I kinda just want the expansions rather than playing through generally the same game again. I'll have to check my gaming mood after three loooooong visual novels LOL.

Played the FFVIIR demo. I hate Barret's voice. I sincerely think they need to reconsider his voice actor. Otherwise, demo looks great, Cloud sounds great. Combat felt somewhat clunky to me, but also it's not a terribly long demo, so I didn't have a lot of time to get used to it before it was over, either. Music is AMAZING. Looking forward to the release next month.

Did the first dungeon in Shadowbringers FFXIV today. Since the game gave me the option, I went in with NPCs. It was so much fun and relaxing for me because it allowed me to learn the mechanics without stressing. I'll need to queue again with real players because that's where the real practice happens, but I think the NPC option for learning a dungeon the first time you go in is awesome.

It felt strangely similar to the original. That sounds stupid, when I say it, but...the graphics are SO updated, you'd almost think it'd feel like an entirely different game, but it didn't, to me. Though having the voices is nice. (Though I agree, I really dislike Barrett in this. Why does he have to sound like Mr. T? Also, having his lines voiced makes him sound like more of a jerk than he came across in the original, imo.) Cloud comes across as so detached from life that he's barely alive at all. I don't remember having any opinion of Cloud at all, when I was playing the original.

~

I'm getting through a bunch of close-packed festivals right now, and have had my third or fourth date with Dylas (it would have been one more, but I forgot him once.) I bought him the shiny fishing rod with all of the approximately 20,000 that I was given by the adult townsfolk on New Year's Day. He'd better be sparkly every time I see him fishing, now! It doesn't give a larger FP boost than anything else, either, but I thought it'd be nice for Mr. Fisher-Horse to have a really nice fishing rod, and there's no way I was getting him the 999,999 one!

What kind of horse likes to fish, anyway? Dylas really isn't horse-like, imo, unlike Leon, who really is quite fox-like with the wily teasing nature and all. I like Dylas, but I miss Leon. I have yet to get Frey hitched, but I think it's settled...Leon is my absolute favourite and no one can supplant him. (Doesn't hurt that I like his voice best, either.)

I just offed the first boss-type monster of Leon Karnak but it's kind of discouraging how fast the weapon that worked awesome in the first area, is barely effective in the next, even disregarding elemental weaknesses and strengths. You were pretty good for about two minutes there, Fists of Dark. Gotta go get me a malm claw or two so that I can make another, stronger weapon. I really should tame a malm tiger while I'm at it...they're so cute.

EDIT: Woot! I finally triggered Smile Practice, and Dylas is at 9.5 hearts, and I've been on enough dates, so pretty soon I should be eligible to trigger his marriage event. :)

And they're strong too! I liked bringing one around on dungeon runs :)

Yay, I got one, and all it took was some lumps and bruises while brushing it as many times as possible before handing it a single quality fur, and it was tamed :) It's really nice and aggressive, too, and runs to beat the tar out of any enemy we encounter, lol.

Now I've just gotta somehow trigger Dylas' marriage event, get married and have a kid, and finish Leon Karnak and Rune Prana. That...may take a while, lol. Good thing ACNH isn't until the 20th?

EDIT: Forgot to put that I did buy House Flipper (PS4) and it's pretty zen, actually. Not that much creativity since you just fill jobs to order (though some of them leave the details up to you, so you can actually make the place look nice to your own standards.) It's a nice break to take when the very detail-oriented and memory-intensive RF4S starts to wear me out, lol.

EDIT 2: Woot, finished with Leon Karnak. And the malm tiger is a very good attacker, but super wimpy in defence...gets killed really fast. I wonder why I haven't unlocked the order to get the Sharance Maze. I've already gotten into Arc 3, so I should have it, but I don't.

Funny you should say that. It DOES feel very familiar, and while there are obviously some changes, they really stayed pretty true to the opening events, both sequence-wise and feeling-wise, of the original game IMO. As for Barret, I think they went too far with making him sound over the top/attempting to give him a dialect, almost. It's really grating on the ears. As for Cloud, knowing what I know of his character development, I actually think it's rather appropriate to see him portrayed that way in these early scenes. It makes me interested to see how they will handle his character development as the game goes on.

I am excited for RF4S, but I have barely played any of it. Still too distracted by FFXIV and school. I am totally looking forward to going through Leon/Dylas/Arthur's events all over again, though. And every other bachelor/bachelorettes, same as I did in the original release. Luckily, my graduate program is on spring break this week, so while I still have Japanese class today and Thursday, that's considerably LESS stressful than my grad classes.

My harem is nearly complete! Just need Clorica to realize that I need her animated cutscene and extra event in this game in order for the harem to be complete. I did trigger Amber's marriage event, so I'm almost done with her. I'm now stuck on three requests: Blue Crystal, 50 Grapes, and Pineapple Juice. I'm growing the blue crystal flower and grape tree now, but my cooking level is too low for pineapple juice. I don't even remember the pineapple juice request nor do I remember how I got my cooking skill that high.

My comment on Cloud seeming empty/detached wasn't meant as praise or criticism, in this case, but to note one thing that felt a bit different. I don't remember getting ANY impression of Cloud in the original game, but in this remake, I feel like he's empty, like a doll or a cyborg. I also didn't give a hoot about Wedge or Jessie in the original but the remake makes me like them. (I can't remember the other guy's name, for some reason. I guess I must not care about him as much, lol.) So basically, while feeling very much like the same game, just with a major spiffing, it also feels like they were able to give everyone a lot more personality. I guess that's natural, now that we can hear their voices and see their expressions.

~

Couldn't do any gaming yesterday at all. I was in the city most of the day, and when I got home I was so tired, I barely felt like I could stay awake and watch TV (to keep myself from falling asleep too early and messing up my sleep cycle.) There's no way I could have played a memory-intensive game like RF4S yesterday. I don't know if others find it to be like that, but I always have so many things I need to do, it's a struggle to remember them all. Like right now, I need to grind up all of my crafting abilities (that's a sort of constant need), trigger Dylas' marriage event, find some light ore, grind up my axe/hammer weapon ability and get some better weapon recipes in that type so that I can use the light ore to transfer an axe or hammer's incredibly high attack power to my favourite weapon type...fist. (Dual blade is also good, but I can't deal with slow attacks, so long sword and axe/hammer are always out.) I have to get my spear skill up too, to get more spear recipes since you need a spear in Rune Prana to reach monsters behind barriers. (That or I'll need use Glitta Augite or Racoon Leaf to augment my other weapons to increase their range.) I also need to upgrade my shield with a dragon scale to try to get some of that defence power even when I'm using a two-handed weapon that doesn't allow you to hold the shield. And I have to finish growing my level 10 cucumber and pumpkin and ship them, then start growing a few giant veggies. And figure out WHY Sharance Maze hasn't unlocked in my game...I still can't make an order to get it. And tame a Yellow and a Blue, since I only have Green and Red, at this point.

Just...too much to organize in my head when I'm tired.

~

Ronin...have you tried using foods that increase your maximum RP, so that you can safely craft items that are above your skill level? That can sometimes get you past a hump where all the stuff you can make is too low a value to increase your skill (without making a million of them) but the better stuff is too high-skill. You can also wear...I think hand-knit scarf, while crafting, in order to half your RP consumption.

EDIT: Got a Yellow and a Blue and changed Blue's name to Bluie. Because why not? :) ALSO...when I went to play most recently, the game said it had an update. Nothing appeared to download (or it must have been so small as to be basically instant) but after I did so, the orders to push away typhoons and get the Sharance Maze appeared! Yay. Took along Bluie and Yelo and threw disastrous dishes to clear out the first room, and levelled the little blue fairy from 69 to 76 with just that one room. :)

Ohohoho~ >:3c

I hope Bluie continues to serve you well!

I had no intention of playing FFXIV all day yesterday. The previous night, a group of FC mates and I were helping my husband beat the Coils of Bahamut and someone brought up apartments in the FC house - both that they exist and that our FC buys them for our members. Welp, I got my apartment and then I went into full Animal Crossing mode, decorating until I was satisfied and absolutely broke LOL. I have a little hideaway now where I can play my tunes and hang out with friends.

I have been playing Grisaia, and I think i'm almost done with Makina's route. It's taken an.... interesting turn, but I'll stay my judgement until I finish it outright. Probs play some more today.

Couldn't hurt. I was also checking Arthur's things to see if he'd sell it.

I married Amber and Xiao Pai, so their newlywed mode events are unlocked. I probably won't play any of them until I've gotten all of them. I did harvest a blue crystal flower and a giant golden potato. My grape tree is also fully grown, so I'll have that finished in no time. I'm growing a green crystal flower too. I'm making progress!

Except for Clorica. She's almost at 10 LP and still won't accept that I mean business.

I've gotten several pineapple juices in dungeons, though I don't remember precisely where. I know I get pineapples from fighting the rolly pineapple monters in Leon Karnak, but the juice, I think, is totally random and could be found in a chest anywhere. (More likely when you get a higher 'searching' skill, since you get better items the higher that is.)

That also couldn't hurt. I'm also doing random requests from Eliza so there's always the chance a chest can pop in a dungeon. I want to nationalize the baths dang it! (at 22K Prince Points)

Edit: Oh, it doesn't carry over to NG+. I'll just accumulate points then and continue to build up the farm.
