Honestly when I first played RF4 way back when, I didn’t even know there was a third arc. I didn’t realize until someone mentioned it here but it took almost 2+ in game years before I could trigger the 3rd arc...no wonder I didn’t know about it lol.

Almost done with Mario + Rabbids
Finished concrete genie.
Replaying AC:New leaf, just because I can.
Got distracted from RF4S but I’ll get back to that soon.
Gave my mother my Let’s Go Eevee so that’s off my backlog now.

Doing my best to keep distracted until AC:New Horizons comes out.

I think they must have tweaked RF4S. That or I am insanely lucky, because I triggered the necessary event to start the 3rd arc immediately. The first day it COULD be triggered, I triggered it. I'm not normally THAT lucky, so I'm thinking they may have made 'Memories' at least an automatic event. Which makes sense since you have to see it to continue the story...it really should never have been random!

I have no proof of that, but that's what I think right now.

The game itself seems to consider itself 'done' after arc 2, since after that you unlock the 'more orders' or whatever they're called, that are for people who have completed the game (according to the in-game text.) So I guess arc 3 is considered post-game content. I'm still chipping away at it and have managed to finish RP3, since my weapon was just baaaaarely good enough (and may be good enough to take care of regular monsters in RP4, though I'll need another upgrade for RP4's boss.) But to get the ingredients I need, I'll have to fight the boss 2 more times at minimum, lol...probably more. Oh well, at least I know what I have to do, to be equipped to continue.

I'm gonna play a bit more House Flipper in between. I burn out on RF4S after X many hours...it's just so memory-intensive, it wears me out. I just want to get to do up my own house in House Flipper and then I will consider it complete, as well.

As long as I don't rewatch that AC Direct for a 6th time, I'm not too anxious for it. RF4S got my mind off of it for a week, and then it naturally subsided enough on its own for me not to be constantly thinking of it, lol. Plus I'm satisfied at having decided my town name, player name, and overall island 'theme'.

~

EDIT: BEWARE HOUSE FLIPPER.
Spoiler:
I cannot find any place to look for help or report these problems because on Steam you are only allowed to post in the House Flipper forum if you own the game on Steam. :? Which really sucks, because my game has gone haywire. It's fine if I just do small (boring!) jobs. But recently I decided to buy a house and fix it up to sell...the actual house-flipping part. It worked okay at first. But then I tried to install a sink in the bathroom, and it...froze. I'm not sure how to describe it, because I could still move around, but my cursor would no longer interact with anything. So I went back to the 'office' and then back to the house, since I read on the Steam forums that that reset things for some people and then they were able to continue. For me: nope! So then I tried shutting the game down, checking for updates (of which there were none) and then restarting it.

The game got even worse. After that, I could no longer interact with ANYTHING...not even to open a door! I can go into the shop and try to buy paint, but I can't put the paint down anywhere so I can't complete the purchase. ANY purchase. So I can't buy, I can't move, I can't sell, I can't paint or tile or clean or anything, not in this house I bought, even though I had already finished one bedroom and was nearly done the bathroom. It was fine if I just went to the small jobs on other people's houses, but returning to the house I bought was completely screwy. I could no longer do anything with it at all. It's really sad, since this part was actually really fun. And I have nowhere to report this or look for help. Frustrating! At this time, I do NOT recommend House Flipper, as the best part of it seems to run the constant risk of suddenly becoming unplayably buggy.

In a last ditch effort to somehow shock the game out of its issues I have uninstalled it and am now re-installing it. I'm not overly hopeful that it'll work, but can't hurt to try. Even if it deletes my progress...which I'm not sure that it will since I think save data is separate...it's worth it, because as it is, I've got no reason to play any more. The one truly fun part of the game isn't working, so...

According to the RF4 guides I've read, they classify Arc 3 as post-game material.

I've gotten 4/8 endings in Octopath. I think I can finish another one tonight (Cyrus'), and the remainder this week :) I'm quite sad the adventures are ending! I've become attached to Orsterra

Hooray, I finished the final story arc of My Time At Portia and cleared the game for the first time! Will I continue to play with that file? Not likely, but I may start a new file someday in the future, just probably not soon. It was a decent game for the most part, but I'm glad to be done with it for now.

Games cleared for the first time in 2020: 5
Backlog: About 12
I am so ready for Animal Crossing now, less than two weeks left to wait!

Yeah, it FEELS like post-game, somehow. I mean, the goal feels like it could fit into the main story and doesn't need to be post game, but somehow, life in Selphia also feels like it's wound right down after the 2nd arc, and that anything that follows is optional. Well, I don't know if this is possible, but if it is, I'd like to get RP4 and 5 done today. RF4 for sure...that should be easy enough. (EDIT: Done. Not gonna get RP5 done today, though. Too much skill and material grinding to do for that. Might be able to get as far as the boss, though.)

~

Congrats, greensara! :) MTaP is a beast of a game, length-wise. Even if you rush through without any side stuff, it takes 50-80 hours, ime. (Though I'm no speed-runner...I'm sure they can think of ways to shave more and more time off until you're asking yourself how it's even POSSIBLE to complete the game that fast...but for regular players, I'd say it's a long game no matter how close you stick to the main plot.)

~

Well, I couldn't fix House Flipper even with a re-install, BUT...it was only my action cursor that wouldn't interact with anything. Which meant I couldn't do anything, not even open doors, though I could still open the shop...and I could still sell the danged house. I hadn't finished it, but I'd cleaned everything up and finished one room, so I was able to sell it at a very small profit. When I bought another house, IT wasn't frozen up. I made sure to keep any 'installations' until the end in case the freeze-up thing happened again, so that the house would be almost entirely complete before I was forced to sell it...but luckily, it didn't happen. So that's just what I'll do for now in case of glitches...clean, build and/or demolish if necessary, then paint the walls and cover the floors in fresh new stuff and furnish each room...THEN do any installations at the very end. By that point even if it goes buggy on me, I won't lose much money.

Well, RF4S didn't hold my attention for too long all things considered. I immediately switched to Trails of Cold Steel III. In the middle of chapter 2, the (what I assume to be) 1st field exercise day. Man... I'm not even that far in, and the game's already wanted to make me cry. They're good at tugging on my heartstrings.
I'll just spoiler tag my other feelings...
Spoiler:
I just feel so incredibly bad for Rean. Like holy « Cow Poopoo ». He's being perpetually wedged between a rock and a hard place and he's just rolling along with it. It just feels like he's being used and it doesn't sit right with me. Probably because he is just being used. Meanwhile with the other characters... Juna's slightly annoying to me, but I still like her. I think it's just her interactions with Rean are slightly grating while the ones with Kurt and Altina are nice enough. I hope after Chapter 2, she takes it down a notch with Rean. The poor man's got enough to deal with. Kurt, I really do like a lot. Nice kid, if not a bit dense, but at least he's a lot more... Aware of things. Altina is... Altina. I liked her in 2, and I like her here. As for Ash and Musse... Well, Musse's teasing/trolling hasn't quit overstayed its welcome yet, but probably because I find her... Knowledge a bit more interesting. Meanwhile Ash is a literal walking, talking trash can but as of right now, I like him. Suspicious of the fact that he knows Lechter, but for the time being I'll let it slide. I laughed when he called Shirley "Little Miss War Crime".
Although one thing about this game is that I wish I had more context for the Crossbell stuff. Ah, poor Zero/Ao... Hopefully we get the PS4 ports because I feel like I've only got half the context I need. And it makes things awkward when the game sorta nudges you and goes "HAHA! Cool reference, right?" and I'm just left wondering what the heck the point was.

It sure is fun harvesting giant crops. I even love the extra name they get. Tyrant Turnips, Doom Pumpkins...I love the silliness, and how absurd these crops look, growing in the fields. I also love the crystal flowers. I really want to get at least one of them to level 10 AND gigantify it, but it'd be even more fun to watch the villagers faint, overcome with awe at my insanely awesome crop. Too bad they don't do that...

Currently struggling to get 2 Wooly Furballs. Heck, I'm struggling to get ONE wooly furball. It's even more difficult than getting a Turnip Miracle, it seems. Fighting a lot is easy with little Bluie along for the ride, though...she's as powerful as the other elemental fairies, but she also seems to heal my entire party really frequently. (Edit: Hundreds of Turnip Ghosts later..got myself a Turnip Miracle...which I won't ship because Raven never seems to carry the stuff I want!...and a Gold Turnip in the same drop. )

~

House Flipper continues to be buggy. Even though it supposedly saves every time you go back to your office, it did NOT save my entire last house reno and sale...it saved after I bought it but not after I reno-ed it and sold it, so I lost several hours of work. Not sure I'm going to go for any level of 'completion' on this game due to it being so very glitchy. I'll just consider it done whenever I feel like I don't wanna play any more. (It IS fun, but it'd be way better on PC because it was clearly designed for the extremely smooth and precise movement of a mouse, NOT a control stick. And it's full of bugs. Those things take a good lot of the fun out, unfortunately.)

Still, between these two games, I'm being kept very nicely busy and I don't think much about Animal Crossing unless someone brings it up. I'm afraid of what'll happen if I finish both of these games, though.

I've been super sick this week which has actually been good for gaming... not so much for schoolwork as I've been out of commission for playing trumpet but at least I made some progress in Bravely Second, right? The side-quests are kind of heavy compared to the main story where I'm at right now (Chapter 3), but I finished a fair few of them and made some minor progress on the story along the way. Now if I can just hold myself together and finish all my school-related stuff in the coming month I'll have a lot more time to play games come April 10th (the due date of my last assignment lol).

^ D: Aw, hope you feel better soon! Being sick sucks, even if it does give you some game time. A JRPG sounds like the perfect kind of game for being sick though.

Been a while since I've popped in, huh. Haven't done much gaming though. I'm still not done with my playthrough of Ocarina of Time...partly I've been busy but I think I just don't have the motivation to play anything until Animal Crossing comes out. (Didn't think it would be this bad.) Brain is just...Animal Crossing, full stop.

Has anybody else started to listen to KK Slider music yet? I caught myself humming one of the songs this past week while I was cleaning and since I realized I've been listening a bit. :D It's nice.

Still working my way through Ring Fit ('gaming' yay?), and it's still kicking my butt. I've almost maxed out difficulty though, which is probably part of it. I'm (I think) somewhere in World 13 now, and I don't actually see the end in sight yet. Maybe they don't want you to see the end though, who knows. More and more of the 'get a perfect score in the minigame' sidequests are falling by the wayside though. (And there are extra courses that I don't know how to unlock, but...post-game, maybe...? Or maybe I'll just make the attempt to figure it out then to keep myself going.)

I'd love to know the percentage of people who've actually beaten the game by now...I know I didn't start till pretty much New Year, but...it's still an incredible amount of content. I keep forgetting to check my total time playing...

The more I see of Illuminata in town events, the more I dislike her, in spite of liking her design. The nosy reporter/investigator who thinks anything is justified in the name of 'finding out the truth', no matter that no one is asking her to investigate anything, how private and not any of her business these personal events are, or who they hurt in the process...I really hate that character trope to begin with, and Illuminata is that all over, which is so senseless when she's in a town where everybody loves each other and they all have each others' best interests at heart...she's just a horrible, nosy busybody. She accuses them of wrong-doing, and yet, she's the person in town who causes the most drama and problems and misunderstandings. I always forget how much I dislike her when I first restart the game. :/

Though that's not so bad, since she's the only character I genuinely feel dislike for out of all of them. I'm indifferent to a few, but overall, it's a really sweet, fun cast of characters.

Rune Prana is SUCH slow going. I did finally get good body armor, though, and now that I've got decent elemental resistance, I think I can get through RP5. And getting a gold turnip seed was good luck, too.

FFXIV has become more or less a 'do my dailies' game now while I wait for the next update. There's nothing I really want to buy off the market boards (got all my glams except one which a friend of mine is making for me, but the mats take 3 days to spawn looool) and the only other thing I'm working on is doing all the quests I skipped in Stormblood and Shadowbringers (but the monotony of that gets old quick).

I have however made an alt I intend to play once 5.3 drops when they fix Realm Reborn's story. I'm interested in what they'll do annnnd I also really wanted to play a hrothgar. They grew on me.

I thiiiink i'm almost done chapter 1 in Trails of Cold Steel III. I really want to do all the sidequests so I'm taking my time. Most likely get it finished today and I'm going to try and start Amane's route in Grisaia.

Also, I saw some Animal Crossing footage this morning and almost broke into tears LOL. Soooon, we'll have it soooooon!

Anyone suffering over Animal Crossing should definitely feel free to vent (or etc) at length in the AC thread. Share your favourite screenshots, roll around in agony about how 11 days is so, sooooooo long, discuss your name possibilities, all that stuff. Maybe it'd help? Or...maybe it'd make it worse, lol. I don't know which. I was having a hard time after the AC Direct first game out, but between RF4S and House Flipper (and Ring Fit, to some extent) I've actually been doing pretty good.

I just have to decide whether to cancel my pre-order on the physical copy or not. There's always a chance of getting the game EARLY (even if only by a day) if you get physical, but the better chance is that you won't, and won't have it in your hands until at least after lunch, while the digital version is yours the minute you wake up on the 20th, if you've pre-ordered it. There is also the horrible risk that if they don't ship it at just the right time to arrive on release day, you could get it THREE DAYS LATE, since it's a Friday and we've no weekend post, here.

Anyway, I'm going to wait until next Monday-Wednesday to see if they give me a shipping update, and if they haven't shipped it Wednesday, I'm gonna cancel my order and go digital. I am NOT waiting on this game! Not even a few hours, lol.

~

Got me 3 10-fold steels in one day of moderate grinding for them, that was lucky? Though I can't use them anywhere in the near future anyway, with a difficulty rating of 95. I seem to have good luck with gold veggies and mineral squeeks, but terrible luck with turnip ghosts and shmoolies, who never want to give me any of the good stuff. But now I have to be a responsible adult (which is always something of a farce) and do boring stuff.

I have fully finished my Lest file. I married Margaret, so I got all the newlywed modes and animated cutscenes from the girls. I unlocked new game plus! The 10FP one is always a hurdle. I also got my kid, so the second opening is unlocked!

As much as I want to continue with RF4S and start-up Frey, I'm gonna wait a bit on it. I have a friend coming over the day Animal Crossing releases and he's curious about the game, so better to start off with the plot's opening and tutorials. Until then, it's back to my Fire Emblem Three Houses file with the Blue Lions and the DLC.

I am at Chapter 15, so I don't have much longer until the game's conclusion. It's different when I've unlocked all of the supports; I'm not grinding up all of the characters, just the ones I'm using a lot.

Spoiler:
Recently beat:

None

Backlog:

(3DS, Nintendo Switch, and PC) = A lot (over 136 games)

Currently playing:

Yoshi's New Island (3DS)
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Teams DX (Switch)
Spirit Hunter: NG (Switch)

Games I have pre-ordered:

Animal Crossing: New Horizons (March 20, 2020)
Digimon Survive (2020)

Games I want:

Luigi's Mansion (3DS)
Rune Factory 5 (Switch; 2020)
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Hou (Switch) (Japanese only)
Snack Wold The Dungeon Crawl Gold (February 14, 2020)
YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of This World (Switch)
Detective Pikachu 2 (Switch; release date unknown)
Story of Seasons: Reunion of Mineral Town (Switch) (West: 2020)
Robotics; Notes Elite (Switch) (Coming 2020 in the West)
Robotics; Notes Dash (confirmed for the West)
Yo-kai Watch 4 (Switch; confirmed for the West)
Rewrite+ (PC)

Games beat in 2020: 0

Games bought in 2020: At least 6 (of those with confirmed release dates)
So, I've been playing both Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Teams DX, and Spirit Hunter: NG more. I have about 6 hours, I think, each on both games.

In Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, I'm right before tackling Mt. Thunder (
Spoiler:
where Zapdos is
). I'm taking it more slowly because I want to raise my rank and level before Mt. Thunder. But I think I'll do that next.

And in Spirit Hunter: NG I finished the first case. I'm really surprised the first case in NG took over 6 hours, including the prologue.

I did end up buying Yoshi's New Island on my 3DS, and Saturday on my road trip with my parents I beat the first world in it. So, now I'm on World 2. (Here I used the My Nintendo offer of 30% off.)

I also bought Kirby's Blowout Blast, but there's something weird going on on the My Nintendo website where the Kirby Blowout Blast coupon connects to a Chibi-Robo discount, and vice versa. So, had to use 100 platinum points there, instead of just 50 platinum points for the mix-up. So, wasted 50 of my platinum points (as I'm not interested in the Chibi-Robo game.)

Added a spoiler for Pokemon, by the way, even though it's a remake of a 15 year-old game.

@ Geek, I hope you recover soon!

Speaking of side quests, I'm in that dilemma of "do I finish the main story then do the side quests or do I do the side quests before finishing the main story?" for Octopath. I couldn't do the sidequests before because my level was too low, but now I'm finally in a good level to go through the side quest dungeons; however, I'm also just three endings away from finishing the main story as well as piecing how all the heroes' stories are connected. What to do
