I played what I wanted of The Crown Tundra and I'm calling it done. I don't want to spend my time frustratingly trying to catch legends I don't want, so I scooped up a few and finished the main story involving the local « Harvest Goddess ». I just don't have the passion for Pokemon to 100% it.

I'm in a very artsy mood lately, after 10 months of not even wanting to pick up my pencil, so I'm more working on art than playing games. And when I'm not, I'm more in the mood for binging some shows. Maybe it's the cold? LOL idk. Anyways, I do have Robotics;Notes and Yokai Watch 1 for Switch on my backlog, but I'm also going to be giving Dragon Quest X a try. There's a way you can play the entirety of 1.0 for FREE and I am no way in hell going to say no to free Dragon Quest (especially since this is one of the main games I've wanted localized since announced! ;w;). I know almost 0 written Japanese, so it might be rough, but I'm looking forward to finally playing it!

Honestly tho, November 20th can't come fast enough. Age of Calamity is probs gonna end up my GOTY looool.

EDIT: I bought Hades. I watched a review of it from a YTer I like&trust, and it looks like it could be my cup of tea. I looove games that have continual ever-changing dialog and events depending on choices/progress (Undertale, Hollow Knight, Knights in the Nightmare, Final Fantasy XIV, Soul Sacrifice - I could go on) and it seems to be chalked full of it. I played Bastion a year or so ago and liked it well enough, so it's not like I don't trust it to at least give me some enjoyment regardless. Love the character art already.

I'm a bit sad that Cyberpunk 2077 got delayed again, but this means I'll have time to play Spiderman Miles Morales at my own pace instead of rushing it in 5 days.

In the meantime, I've been replaying Pokemon Shield to get the legendaries I couldn't on my first run. Crown Tundra really is the best experience out of Sword and Shield. The build-up in both DLCs makes me think Game Freak's next game is a sequel. And I mean a full-on sequel, not an Ultra Sun and Moon thing.

I did choose the female MC this time around; they have better customization options imo. My character looks like a meme lord and I love it.

I don't know if I'll go back to Banjo-Kazooie. The levels are getting harder and harder. I'm in the Egypt theme world after giving up on two jiggies in the Christmas world (stupid snowmen)

Well, it took a while, but I finally did it. I finally beat Rune Prana and rescued Venti. Now I can get started on getting married to everyone since I'll have Venti at my wedding in my canon file!

I've heard talk lately (completely rumor) about Nintendo maybe making some sort of dongle for Lite owners to use to connect to a TV. Would be nice.
Ohh that would be nice! But idk I think Nintendo would rather that buyers get the full Switch rather than make a dongle..

I hope you enjoy Hades, Bluie! Everyone seems to really like it. Fanarts of it are blowing up on twitter haha. I've been interested since I saw it in the indie showcase, but it seems like a hack and slash game and I'm not too good with those ^^;

As someone who has more than 100 hours on Hades (since I had Early Access on Steam), I think you'll really enjoy it, Bluie. The story is great with excellent voice acting and even though I lean more towards turn-based games over real-time, I had a lot of fun with it. It's one of the only roguelike games that I actually enjoy playing. If you are interested in picking the game up, Pachi, it does come with a « Harvest Goddess »-Mode, which will let you take less damage the more you die, which is helpful for those who are starting out. And as a roguelike, you really are expected to fail a bunch so that really takes the pressure off, at least in my experience.

There's also a dedicated button to petting Cerberus so that's an automatic ten in my book.

Okay, so...I bought Carto. I knew I would, probably sooner than later, if I had any gaming time to spare. But it was only on 10% off until release, so...I went ahead and bought it, since NOW is probably my only free gaming time until December. (Or until 2021, can't tell yet!)

And I've finished it, lol. It IS a 5-8 hour game, after all. And it's really exactly what it appears to be if you watched the video I posted a link to (on Nintendo Everything) the other day. No real surprises. I have rather high requirements for what I think a great story, or even a good story is, and I feel that the story of Carto was really ordinary, no surprises. But I do love the art, and I love the way the characters move, and I enjoy the main gameplay, aka: swapping map tiles around.

It was definitely one of the rare games I enjoyed based mainly on the gameplay itself rather than on the characters or story. I think they did a wonderful job of animating these teeny characters...I love when Carto nods or frowns...and it runs as smooth as butter. Never saw a single glitch or problem. The one major criticism is that sometimes, you're left floundering, not sure what the heck you're supposed to do next. It always has to do with rearranging the map somehow and finding something or talking to someone after you do so (like getting an oasis tile to appear by arranging the right tiles in the right shape) but sometimes I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing.

But I'm done now, anyway, so it looks like I had plenty of free game time to give to it. No sign of Cold Steel IV shipping yet, even though amazon.ca says it is in stock (drives me NUTS to see it listed as in stock, yet remaining unshipped on my preorder from months ago!) I'm trying out the Pikmin 3 demo, now. The mumble-talk and some of the art style reminds me of Chibi Robo: Photo Finder. THe Pikmin are sweet little things, but if I were won over by cute and sweet things I'd have a pack of chubby puppies rolling around my ankles right now (my parents often have puppies). I don't anticipate liking the gameplay enough to buy the game.

*Thumbs up* I defs want to enjoy it and I can't see it not being my thing if I can get into it's groove. I can easily latch onto any game in any genre as long as it's got content to keep me coming back. I mentioned Hollow Knight, a game in a genre I'd never normally play, ever, but its content and style is what drew me in and kept me there. I've seen A LOT of fan art on twitter too, hard to avoid, really loool. I may start it today depending.

I ended up playing a lot of Sonic Forces and Yokai Watch 1 last night. I drew literally from 6AM-7PM and I was just needing something light but engaging. I've had Sonic Forces for awhile and hadn't touched it, but I deadass listen to the soundtrack every day I go to work. I have loved it's OST since it first came out and it puts me in such a good mood at 4AM driving through pitch black Texas countryside XD. Anyways, game itself is fun, if not a bit janky. I died more to falling off platforms (usually by barely touching the edge :/) than actual loss of rings. The game is such a bro move to the Sonic fans tho, letting them essentially make an OC and be awesome with Sonic is equally adorable/knowing exactly who their fanbase is and just letting them have what the want (if only the bare essentials). I'm a hot pink cat in a ridiculous outfit and Sonic treats me like i'm the best thing since sliced bread. Had this game come out when I was a child, I would've been a Sonic fan FOR LIFE LOL.

With Yokai Watch 1, it was pure nostalgia for me. 2015 was THE YEAR I was super into YW content, and finally getting to play the game was so exciting. I loved every second of it and it's been my favourite in the series since then, so getting to replay in in HD and with QoL improvements it fantastic for me. They removed the stamina wheel while running and the restrictions on your actual Yokai Watch are gone too, so you can have any rank of Yokai in your party regardless! I literally pulled an S Rank out of the Crank-a-kai last night and, while it's a bit broken, I am not complaining! My only issue is trying to remember the locations for specific yokai + items so I can be ready for fusion once it unlocks. Thankfully the english guides for this game are really detailed so I can look them up quickly if I do get stuck, because no matter how good my muscle memory is, I still can't read Japanese! I ended up playing the game til 12AM I was having such a good time - whoops!

So, temporarily not playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, because of the new Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra DLC. But, I'll pick it back up for the Halloween event. :)

Still working on the three Legendary quests for Pokemon Shield in the Crown Tundra, all that's left is capturing the 6 Regis. I've decided to shiny hunt for the Regis. Hopefully it won't take too long.

I recently bought Iwaihime, plus it's DLC on Steam (scenario is by Ryukishi07 of When They Cry fame), 4 games on Steam in a bundle to learn Japanese (when I get back to it), Atri -My Dear Moments-, and Adabana Odd Tales.

So, with the announcement of Story of Seasons - Pioneers Of Olive Town - (Releases March 23, 2021), I've decided I also need to beat Story of Seasons Friends of Mineral Town, beat Rune Factory 4 Special (before Rune Factory 5 releases in the west), and at least start Doraemon Story of Seasons.

Also, the Japanese release date for Rune Factory 5 is May 20, 2021.

Surprisingly, I DO like Pikmin 3 enough to buy it. Just not right now. The type of gameplay is sort of what I expected, and yet it's really different. It's...hmm. How do I say it? It's like it has a very multifaceted personality. I never have to do one thing for long enough to get bored. And I like how it's broken into days and each day automatically saves. They're also a really nice length to play just one or two of and then quit. And I really like exploration and completion of things like finding all the fruit and bugs and so on. I'll probably buy it someday, but unlike Carto, which I basically finished in one day, Pikmin 3 is too long for that. I'll put it on my wishlist and leave it for later, along with about 20 other games I have accumulating.

Haven goes onto my 2021 list now, too, cuz it got delayed to Q1. I don't mind. I have enough. Though it looks wonderful.

I'm now watching (it's paused while I write, of course) the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity opening scene, and I can already say that I love the Egg. The Guardian Egg. I want one. Or two, maybe, so they can be friends.

Pleased by it having an easy mode. I was also very tempted to put the game on English voice and French text, since it gave me the option to do so, but...I don't want to miss anything. I think a game that moves slower would be better for that.

ooh I see, thanks for the info! I lean towards turn-based too, and the only real time games I can tolerate (recently anyway haha) are Rune Factory and Okami. and petting Cerberus yes that is a plus point  I'm still not confident to buy it full price, so I'll keep a look out for a sale~

Hyrule Warriors is fairly fun, though I doubt I really have the hang of it, yet. I like fighting with Link because 1) I love Link and 2) He's fast, much faster than Impa or Zelda in how quickly he can move across the field. However, Impa does quite a more damage, so she kills faster. I couldn't quite get Link to defeat 300 Lizalfos in 5 minutes even though he was level 8, and Impa did it fine even though she was only level 4. (Haven't tried to wipe the lizalfos out with Zelda, yet.)

There is quite a lot to do/unlock in this game (which is my first Warriors game. My first musou of any type.) I think it'll be okay since the difficulty can be kept low, and you can retry whenever you fail, but I do anticipate having to retry quite a lot. I like using bombs, but I can't get the hang of using cryonis or magnesis. I always end up picking up dropped enemy weapons rather than the big block I was aiming for. And I don't even know what Cryonis is supposed to do, battle-wise. But just fumbling around with arrows, bombs, and X and Y is okay for now.

Brain Training (Brain Age) is going pretty well, I'm getting minutely better at the exercises. Haven't been able to retest my brain age yet, though. Dr. Kawashima won't let you keep training after about 3 exercises. I mean, you can FORCE your way into more, but he doesn't want to let you. Which is okay by me. It helps wake me up, mentally, but unless you're doing well, they're not very fun!

I think I'll redo Day 3 in the Pikmin 3 Deluxe demo. I failed to bring the dragonfruit home by about one second, lol, and it resulted in about 20 of my pikmin dying, too. Boo. I don't really know how to go any faster but I'll have to try. I'm sure I can beat the monster (the last monster battle of the demo) quite a bit faster, this time...maybe that'll give me enough time to grab the carcass, the phone, and the dragonfruit and make it back to camp before night falls.

Having fun with games, atm. Though I'm pretty dead on ACNH right now. I'll go back to see Halloween, but I don't have anything to do in Windfall any more until there's new content. After Halloween, I'll be aiming for maple leaf and mushroom season to grab my interest.

I only played stage one of the Age of Calamity demo, just to see how it controls, because I don't wanna do 1 chapter then wait the better part of the month to get back into it. I like it so far and I am looking forward to getting the whole thing in my hands. I lol'd at Link grabbing the egg-guardian as it approached Zelda. It was very 'Oh no you don't!' XD

Started Hades like I said I would and I like it so far! Everyone is either delightfully sassy or incredibly supportive and it makes dying a treat, seeing what new dialog awaits me on my way back. I can see myself putting a lot of time into this one!

Finally finished Persona 4. I need some time to process all the emotion so this is going to be pretty short but I enjoyed it a ton. Next on the list is Persona 4 Dancing, and whatever else catches my attention. Hope everyone is enjoying their current games! :)

I went back to my Frey -> Lest file to try and marry Dylas again. I keep triggering every town event except Smile Practice. I have 6 town events I haven't triggered yet, but it seems the game is desperate to make me see all of them except for Smile Practice.

I just "finished" Hades (aka finished the main plot) and LOVED it. « Harvest Goddess » Mode is a godsend and I loved how death really didn't feel like a big deal and mostly just made it so you play nice satisfying loops. I loved petting Cerberus and romancing the characters and the music and graphics are GORGEOUS. Highly recommend! I don't normally play rogue-likes so I was pleasantly surprised I liked this one!

Now I'm playing Spiritfarer and it's so soothing! It's kinda like managing a hotel on a boat? With spirits. Who are finicky and don't want to eat their food all the time :T And you can give them all hugs!! It's such a sweet game, I'm loving it so far.

I'm still playing ACNH off and on as well, mostly to pick up candy for the Halloween event and decorate my town. It's a good 'I don't know what to play but I need to blow off steam' game.

Hmmm at some point I wanna go back through the rest of Supergiant's games. I have Pyre and Transister on Steam, so maybe I'll go play those once I'm done with Spiritfarer. OH! And Crusader Kings III. My wife's been addicted to it and it looks super fun!
