I time traveled once yesterday so I could get out of the tent, which resulted in my museum being finished today. It's so beautiful inside! Also unlocked Nook's Cranny which had hideous things for sale, but I'm really looking forward to the clothes shop. I finished up all the new villager houses too. Felicity, Marina, and Anchovy are moving in. I can already tell I'm going to want to move almost every building, it sucks that it's so expensive.

I picked up two star fragments but I have no idea what they do. Also bought 2 stacks of turnips because why not, but it seems like they can't be stored? Can I just throw them on the floor of my house?

You can also throw them on the ground outside. That's where I left mine when I ran off to an island. Might be better to leave them inside though (in case of bugs).

I might actually test that this week and leave a stack outside the whole week.

Was it an oarfish?! I got one of those last night. They're so awesome. XD (Clipped the video of it coming out of the water.)

Got the full museum today - and I love it. :D That's probably been my biggest time sink so far, donating things one at a time to see the fun facts. <3 Aside from that I've just been saving up money for building projects. No intention of paying off my loan until I can't stand my teeny tiny room anymore, I'd rather have the money.
It was. :) Thing really startled me, lol...I thought it was a python or something. (Snakes freak me out.) And right after that I caught my first tuna, and then a barred knifejaw, so I was having a good fishing moment, there :)

I have now taken out a nearly 400,000 Bell loan with Tom, for my next house expansion (to get the back room.) Two rooms will be useful. I also wonder if it expands your inventory space, which I want to have ample of. But after this I plan to save my Bells for town projects like ramps and bridges. I don't love using the vaulting pole and ladder, so I look forward to that. THOUGH...to not waste money, I should probably just wait until I get my terraforming ability, which I think probably takes around a month of playing. I think I can make do with just one bridge for that long. I'm already gonna have to spend a fortune to shuffle all my buildings around once I am able to start shaping the land as I want it, and get rid of that horrible pond that totally ruins acre B6. I could fit 4-6 houses up there if not for that stupid pond, but as it is, I can barely fit 2. I want that to be my main residential area.

Can't wait to have my completed museum. By tomorrow, I'll have 50 items minimum to donate. It's a wrench to donate all those expensive things when I really need the money, lol. But I don't want to HAVE to catch a specific fish ever again...it's best to get donating out of the way.

I bet only one of my three villagers will move in per day, because that seems like the AC way to do things. That's okay; it's really nice to have new things to look forward to each day. Honestly I think that's the greatest thing about AC...it makes you look forward to tomorrow. :)

I’m playing slowly lol I’m not playing right now but I might later when it gets dark. And no I’m not messing with my Switch settings to make it day time.
Kikki wrote: Cute pic, Shan; I had no idea you even took one. Glad there were enough apples to share with 'cookies.
Lol I did. After you left and after I went to her town I went on a mystery island where had a ton more apples. So I ended up having more than you gave me.

Storage is what I need.

Truly the coinkiest of coinkydinks. I actually did just get Flora! Now just one more villager left to recruit for the third empty house. C’mon Roscoe D:

That's great, Fin! :) She's cute; I don't even remember a flamingo-like bird before, so I think this is the first time I've ever seen her. We both got lucky, then, as Fauna is, imo, one of the top five best 'normal' villagers, and probably the best deer. (Though the whole 'deer' category is rather nice.)

Has anyone recruited a 'smug' or 'snooty' or 'cranky' character? So far I think all the ones I've seen have been 'normal', 'peppy' and 'lazy'.

I'm gonna try fishing in the 4-7 PM range to try to get most of the last few fish I still haven't gotten that are available in March. Not including the coelacanth, there should be 6 fish I have left that are catchable this month. Besides, it seems like a really good fishing time just to make money...less sea bass and horse mackerel around then, ime, and more barred knifejaw and red snapper.

EDIT: ARGH. My sister broke my 41 fish streak. :'( She just had to go and tell me the price of some dumb fish I don't even care about as I was trying to catch my 42nd fish in a row. I couldn't hear the sound of the splash above her voice, so I mis-clicked.

Thought I'd post about my progress here.

Island: Ruby
Character: Megan
Fruit: Apples (native), coconuts (hopefully my first bell tree grows as well)
Airport: Blue
Villagers: Renee, Sprocket (+3 lined up to move in)
Switch Friend Code: SW-4325-4843-7313 (Megan)

The final stage of the museum's construction is underway. And I'm in the process of getting Nook's Cranny built (still need about 15 iron nuggets). All of my villagers are still in tents and the plaza/main square tent is still at the lowest stage.

Little (maybe) warning for anybody not at this point yet...

I'm still building houses...and (this makes sense) but beware if you're collecting your own villagers from the islands that different personality types are assigned to the different houses based on the furniture it calls for.

I got two invited and finished building the first house and went in to buy another island ticket when Nook gave the schpeal about somebody moving in soon. I go and check who bought the house and...it's not one of the ones I invited! It's somebody named Audie! (One of the new villagers apparently. :o)

I was a little sad that the villagers stopped spawning after the houses filled up though. XD I want to keep looking! There's so many I feel like I'll never find the ones I want!

Now to go play construction crew and maybe end the night fiddling with my dress design...oddly enough that's what gave me inspiration for an island theme. I dunno if it'll be possible, but it's so early who knows!

Yeah the same thing happened to me. I got Merengue and Flora, but the third villager to move in is Al, who I didn’t choose. And now the islands I visit are empty. Oh well. Since it seems like only Normal/Peppy/Lazy villagers are available in the first round, it means I’ll have a chance to find the characters I really wanted later.

Day 3 of my Island Living was spent building houses for the three villagers I invited yesterday. I'm quite pleased with my choices at the end of the day. I also did some serious landscaping around where the new houses are, and as a result... I'm out of peaches. I was moving trees around to make things look pretty. I've got a lot of trees to move in the future too. I only straightened out that one area...

Also it seems I misunderstood Blathers the other day. Construction started today for the museum, not the completed project. C'mon Blathers, Timmy and Tommy built Nook's Cranny in a single night why can't the museum be built that fast? I've got so many creatures on my beach and fossils in my storage! Oh well, first order of business tomorrow then. I feel a bit bad for leaving all those critters out on the beach, but oh well...

I got Wisp tonight too. He gave me a swimming cap. Thanks Wisp... I also bought turnips from Daisy Mae at 96 bells per bunch, so I'll check those prices this week. It'll be fun. I also paid off my first real debt to Tom Nook, and got a slightly larger house. Man, tomorrow's gonna be packed with stuff to do. I can't wait really.

I posted a tutorial on how to catch wasps every time on Twitter. Got the special Mile for catching 5 in a row today and I caught about 8 of them today alone. I think I'm starting to get my Animal Crossing groove back!

Unfortunately my rare fish supply is awful. My weather has been too cloudy for shooting stars but not cloudy/raining enough for more rare fish on every night so far.

Here's the wasp video if anyone needs it (they are scary!):
Spoiler:
I always shake my tree from the same general spot and it works 100% of the time, but let me know if there's anything I can do to make the setup more clear if you're having problems.

It's raining for the first time in my town, and I'm all excited, lol. My full museum opens today and I can finally get down to donating those 50+ items! Man this is gonna take a while. Can't wait to walk around the exhibits after to see how much it has filled in. I unlocked customization today, too.

Oh, about the villagers moving in. It seems that they move in in reverse order? I managed to invite three before the three house placement thing was triggered, and today Sherb has moved in...he was the last one I invited. So I'm assuming now that next I'll get Fauna and finally Peanut. I assume if I hadn't managed to invite Sherb as my third, I would have had someone random come in first. Guess we'll see :) Love how this game makes you excited for each new day to come, lol.

EDIT: By the way, I got a letter with a gift from Sherb this morning, on his first day here. It says:
Sherb wrote:To my snackbuddy,

Congraps, Alizée! You gotta new room in your house! I sent you a congraplications present. I hope ya wanna decorate your new room with it!

Crangoliptions! - Sherb
It was hard getting his spellings right, there, lol. I have favourited this letter and will keep it forever. (What he sent me turned out to be either a punching bag or an exercise bike, neither of which are nice-looking so I don't really want them, but the letter is a treasure. Maybe I should make a home gym, lol.)

EDIT 2: I can now confirm that expanding your house also expands your storage space. I had...I think 184 yesterday (definitely 180-something) and now that I added a back room, I have 240.

EDIT 3: Donated a buncha stuff and thankfully Blathers didn't lay into honey bees the way he did other bugs. We were gonna have to have a throwdown, if he'd done that! If I had to choose which were to go extinct, owls or honeybees, Blathers...you'd better be saying your goodbyes.

XD Well I got a weird surprise this morning! I haven't touched Pocket Camp in months (it was oddly nice to get my time back from that) and...lo and behold an old Pocket Camp friend sent me a Switch friend request!

Took me a minute there...staring at the name...

My morning NH update, apparently move-ins are completely random. I only finished 2/3 houses last night and my first invite was the first move-in.

It was hiding behind Hamlet's house, but today was the first day my newly-planted flowers bloomed, and they've definitely spread...one seems to be a hybrid. An orange pansy, from what I can tell from the bud. Got windflowers yesterday and tulips today, and my island came with loads of roses. Hoping I'll find hyacinths and chrysanthemums, soon.

Gotta say, the crafting itself is okay, and I've got a few nice DIY recipes now, but I can't really get to love material gathering...I find it a chore. And I sure hope there are non-breakable tools later on, becasue replacing them so often (even with the 'pretty good' ones) is tedious. There's lots of that in this game...features I love, things that are a huge improvement over New Leaf, and also a few things I'm really not digging at all. (I think tools should have worked as clothing does in the wand, for example...they should be taken out of your inventory space and stored inside the ring itself. And I wish you could craft from storage. Carrying around junk all the time, or having to run back to your house continually is frustrating. Guess I'll put a workbench in my house and do most of my crafting there from now on.)

Deleting the character my sis made in my town today, but I milked her of Nook Miles first and bought 3 Tickets. Now I'm gonna get rid of her (she can play her own game today) and reclaim that prime spot her house is in. :D I wonder if I can still invite villagers I see on random islands. Well, I don't want to invite too many. I can only get 5 more villagers, and I have 3 (4 if I include June, but I may leave her out since I already have Fauna) that I want to get from amiibo cards.

Today is not too exciting in Windfall, once I got a good look around the beautiful museum and found my orange pansy. The game is settling into a calmer daily groove now.

Felicity moved to my island today! I'm wondering if the order is based on which house you complete first, maybe? I completed house #2 first and that's the one she moved into.

Also finally had the opportunity to buy normal clothes since Mabel was at the plaza. Hopefully she's going to open up the permanent shop soon.

I have to agree about the tools, Kikki. I'm fine with crafting furniture and stuff, but having to have a steady supply of materials just to remake your tools over and over is a bit tedious. I'm still only on the second tier of tool quality (...there are higher tiers, right?) so I'm sure it will get better, but right now it feels like I'm constantly getting interrupted because I have to remake my tools. I'm tempted to just carry around a workbench in my pockets so it's less of a hassle, but I hate wasting so much inventory space just so I can make tools on the go. Maybe I'll just make a bunch of workbenches and put them all over the island lol.
