Unfortunately I don't have any of those flowers...well actually, I just bought some mums from a friend's island, but I just planted them. I could uproot some and give some to you, but I don't have many.

And actually, I don't think I'll take the record player after all. Thanks anyway and sorry for the trouble!

I love your flag, by the way! It looks great!

Getting the Able Sisters' shop tomorrow, super excited.

No problem, quigley; I kinda figured that wasn't the record player you really like. Mine is very weird-looking.

I should get to build Able Sisters after the next time Mabel visits. Sadly, this is the first time she ever has, so I need to talk to her at least once more. No problem on spending the required amount of Bells, though! She had such cute stuff, today.

Even with 30,000 Nook Miles on hand, I have nowhere near enough of them to buy everything that unlocked for me today. But I'm very glad to have the biggest possible pockets, now!

Mums are my island’s native flower, but I don’t have Nintendo online yet (will soon but it’ll be a few days). I also have pink and black tulips. Do you have any windflowers on your island Kikki? They look like poppies but it’s what my sister had growing on her island and it seemed like it’d fit your islands theme :)

Resident services is closed/upgrading today, so there’s not much for me to do right now. I want more furniture and villagers so I can make full use of Harvey’s island :( My immediate thought w/it was to recreate famous scenes from movies/paintings/etc but I need a much much bigger catalog to be able to do that.

I do have windflowers (anemones, which I'm actually quite fond of IRL, too!), and they're my favourite so far :) Though they're not my native flower...that's roses. But by chance I did get to buy 5 white windflower seeds from my shop once, and my sister had a bunch of other windflower seeds for sale in her shop, so I grabbed stacks from there as well. They look so nice.

Did you use your free Nintendo online code that came with the digital pre-purchase of the game, Fin? If you didn't get that, I can give you my code; I already have the family subscription, so I can't use mine anyway. It only lasts one week, but it could cover a gap if you want to get at the online features right away. If you should want it, my code is: C088HBLYVJBW49K8.

If Fin says she doesn't want it, then by all means, someone else take it. :)

Spent my day organizing my upgraded house and playing with the star wand and generally getting ready for the Resident Services upgrade tomorrow.

Minor spoilers for the star wand,
Spoiler:
I don't really like how the wand 'eats' your clothing even though they make sure to tell you that it's all an illusion. If I want to have the same hat on with every outfit, that is what I will do game. Damn you anyway. And I can't seem to get the darn thing to be a favorite? Which is weird? I guess maybe it's more fun if you take it on multiplayer.
Pretty sure I caught Cherry singing the alphabet today. And tonight my island turned into tarantula island 'lite'. Caught one that spooked Kid Cat, but it took so long that the clip missed the tarantula starting to attack. (Do we know if villagers can get KO'd by tarantulas?)

And I got a surprise attack (video below)...tarantula was just THERE when I came out of the shop. Surprised me so much I forgot how to press buttons. Caught it eventually though.

Things I have caught my villagers doing:
  • Playing 'airplane' (they run around with their arms held out to the sides repeatedly)
  • Sweeping
  • Watering
  • Singing along with a record (you can actually listen to them do it, though there are no music notes)
  • Singing and dancing together with music notes flying everywhere
  • Doing yoga
  • Doing calisthenics
  • Playing the thumb piano
  • Staring at bugs
  • Staring at trees
  • Reading
  • Fruit gathering or possibly looking for a place to have a picnic (with a basket over their arm)
  • gathering wood
The 'tea cup ride' costs 5000 Nook Miles, but I'm tempted to buy it to see if they actually ride in it. Maybe the springy ride-on horse would be better since half the price and only occupies one or two spaces. I have plopped down a lighthouse, now...expensive, but looks nice and I like animated stuff like the fountain or lighthouse. I do NOT want a wind turbine, though...so ugly. I hope they have proper windmills in the game. I'd probably put up several in my windy town. :)

...le sigh... my campground is built, but I still can't use my amiibo cards, yet. Seems you have to get a visitor to your campsite before that will become an option. Hopefully one shows up tomorrow, then...I want to get started on convincing Willow to move in ASAP! I also still can't check on my island's rating. Maybe you have to have X villagers before that becomes an option?

I was so excited to step into my campsite this morning and see who my visitor is and it's... Pietro. I've read that you're forced to invite the first visitor to live on the island or they'll never leave the campsite but man... I really don't want Pietro living on my island lol.

Could you try scanning an amiibo to see if you can oust Pietro from the campsite for tomorrow? Is that an option?

Unfortunately it's not, you don't unlock the amiibo option immediately. I think you have to move someone in from the campsite first to unlock it.

Bleh. I sure hope I get someone good, then. I visited an island this morning, but there were no villagers to invite, so I guess you have no choice but to accept someone random, the first time. Pietro is a Smug, right? Hmm, maybe that's gonna be everybody's category, next. The only ones left other than that are Snooty and Cranky, I think. Of 'Smug' types, I'd most want Raymond, but Marshal, Lopez, Zell or Huck would all be pretty cool. I'm aiming not only to have all villagers I think are cool-looking, but are also in 'natural' colours, or at least more pastel ones, as opposed to colours like magenta or crimson. But I really just want to hurry up and convince Willow to come.

Yup, he's smug. Of all the smug types I think I'd prefer just about anyone else tbh. Pietro is one of my least favorite villager designs, to the point that it felt like the game was personally spiting me when I walked into the tent lol. Oh well. He's moving in now, whether I like it or not.

On the bright side I have the Able Sisters' shop now! My current outfit:

Also got a bunch of seeds for flowers I didn't have from randoms who visited me. I'm excited to finally have cosmos!

So I’m now building stuff for the three houses. I already invited three villagers and they are: a blue cat who looks like Rover, Skye the wolf, and a duck who I forgot the name of lol

I got Pietro too, Panda Parfait. I should have avoided talking to him at all. I didn't know the game would FORCE me to invite him to the island the minute I spoke to him with no option to back out. I know all smug villagers are the same, just with different skins, but that's the worst Smug skin out there. Well, almost. It's his colours that are the worst. I'm going for NATURAL, lol. I would even like to replace Peanut, and she's adorable...she's just too magenta. Well, it seems like making villagers move out isn't that hard...ignore them and complain to Isabelle about them completely, and eventually they'll get the thinking bubble that usually indicates they're considering talking to you about moving out.

I'm gonna get anyone I don't really like to move out. Even ones I only 'sorta' like...they're all going. I'm get bored interacting with villagers even in the best of circumstances, so I need to have all ones I think are just so cute/appealing that I can't resist them. Anybody else has gotta go.

In better news, I have two new flower hybrids starting to grow in my town. One is a pink tulip, and the other appears to be a pink windflower. Hard to tell in the first bud stage, but it's too light to be red but too coloured to be white.

EDIT: Fogu is loading extremely slowly for me today, dunno why...every other site is okay. Anyway, I placed all of the possible remaining spaces for 10 villagers, and random visitors showed up on the mystery tour islands again. Which is nice, but I went to 4, and got all duds. Well, one was okay, a pink girl dog named Cookie. I didn't want her, but she wasn't crazy ugly like the three other characters I ran into...an alligator, an anteater and a squirrel with crazy jagged mouth and a unibrow. (Del, Cyrano and Ricky.) So, no new islanders recruited for me. And I'm out of Nook Miles. I got a few bits of furniture and some DIY recipes but otherwise it was a waste of miles...nothing rare. Also, it's a waste of tickets to go during the day, as almsot all of the rare islands need you to go at night to get the most out of them. Or not during mid-day, anyway. Tarantulas only appear at night, koi and emperor butterflies only 4PM to 9AM, etc.

I'd really at least like to end up on an island with a bunch of hybrid flowers, or flowers I don't have yet. :/ I'm out of money now, too, after paying my third house expansion and getting an incline and one more bridge, and moving Hamlet's house to be in line with all the new plots I placed. (Gotta try to scrape up enough to move Reneigh's house in line as well, tomorrow.) The northern houses may need to wait to be realigned, until after I unlock terraforming. 50,000 sure is a lot of money to have to pay just to move a house.

Oh man, sorry my bad luck rubbed off on you lol. That sucks! I'll definitely be testing those methods to get him to move out, hopefully it doesn't take ages. I know amiibos allow you to choose to kick someone out asap if you're at the max amount of villagers, might be worth saving them for that if you're determined to have a certain aesthetic on your island.

Ooh, I really like the look of the pink windflowers! I'm trying to grow hybrids but it's a slow process.

Today it finally rained on my island and the first fish I caught was a coelacanth :D Also my town rating is 1 star so... I guess I have a lot to do before I get anywhere near terraforming.

That's definitely how amiibos worked in New Leaf, but I've been looking around and can't find any evidence that it also works that way in New Horizons...no one has suggested using amiibos to oust a villager you don't want, yet, that I've found. I really hope it DOES work that way, that'd be great! Then we wouldn't need to care who ends up on our island since it'd be easy to juggle villagers around, but I do care, as I really DO have a certain aesthetic I want to maintain. :) I want as much of my island as possible to fit in with windy/stormy or natural. Failing that, soft/light/pastel is also acceptable. But clowns are creepy and Pietro's colours are insane. (He'd be awesome if you were going for a carnival theme or if you just want the most brilliantly coloured, cheerful-looking animals. Nobody better, in that case!)

Oh, btw, about your rating...
Spoiler:
just having...um...I think it's 7 villagers in your town will automatically bump you up to a 2 star rating. I think. I get some conflicting information. I know you can't reach 3 stars without having at least that many, anyway.
