I dislike the Rival couples :/

So they're weird af, ngl. I´d rather pair Pierre with Sabrina (In frantic farming they had some ship moments) or Pierre x Lana they are on the same table in the cafe in the evening and seem to be BFFs
Natalie and Denny bc Denny needs someone who tells him if he goes too far or smth, Julia and Vaughn since they spend a lot of time together and Elliot and Lana because same with Denny and Natalie or Elliot x Sabrina, both are Nerds haha. Will x Lily is the only good one. And Shea x Alisa as forbidden love. (Alisa can only love the Harvest goddess) and Witch Princess stays alone forever...xD

Yeah, I do agree that frantic farming had some weird shipping moments. It seems as though it supported Elliot x Julia and Lana and Denny (both had very few ship moments with the MCs). Natalie is more heavily shipped with Mark (Male MC) than with Pierre, which is especially apparent in Natalie’s ending. TBH I like this pairing more than Natalie x Pierre. Vaughn does have a few moments with Sabrina, but he seems to spend more time with Chelsea (Female MC) in both of their stories and she is the only other character to appear in Vaughn’s ending. This is not surprising considering Vaughn’s popularity with the player base. As for Sabrina and Pierre, they are basically paired together in Frantic Farming as their own partners from IoH are with the MCs.

As for saying they are not very good, well Harvest Moon has done much worse (Chase x Maya and Ann x Cliff in 64 are unhealthy relationships), none of them are toxic like the couples I mentioned above, but they are not amazing either, just meh.

In fact I am grateful that the older games have rivals as since the 3DS era we have been missing out on them and the towns honestly feel kind of stagnant without them.

That unhealthy pairings are probably just fillers because no bachelor/bachelorettes were left.

The SI pairings didn’t seem natural to me either. I didn’t play frantic farming so now I’m going to have to look up these shipping moments. Weird rival couples are better than no rival couples imo.
