I beat Final Fantasy 9! Oh, that was a sad, joyous, wonderful game to go through! I'm not sure where I'd rank it between the other 3 FF games I've beaten. This leaves 5, 6, 7, and 8 to try in the series.
And I'm also giving up on Sword of the Necromancer. Roguelite games are just not for me. So now I've gotta find another game to occupy me for about 2 weeks.

I'm eternally grateful for the sensors, personally.

I spent way too long looking at the map and not REALLY being sure I got that particular one for the anemoculous. I'm not too worried about the geo ones
yet...when the next area gets announced, however...
--
In Genshin news...bless Condensed Resin. I can BARELY handle AR40 dungeons. I do need to cave and level up a couple characters (as of yet I have no one over level 60), and fighting level 80 abyss mages is juuuuust shy of impossible at this point.
I need better artifacts, though. Technically I need stronger characters. Zhongli (poor lad) is still my only 5 star. I'm spitting distance of soft pity on the permanent banner, and in reach on the character one... We shall see where Xiao is concerned, and I'm betting that the permanent banner will change since Keqing is getting her banner soon.
STILL haven't touched Twilight Princess again...but I'm going to tomorrow. Lakebed...here I come. *twitch* (Hoping that if I write it down I'll stick to it...)

Huzzah!!! I'm so glad you liked it! 4&5&6 are all really good in their own ways. There's so many different versions on 4 now, it's hard to recommend which one. the DS/iOS one with 3D models and voice acting is a fun experience, but it limits your party at the end of the game due to said cutscenes. I dislike it specifically for the fact I can't take my faves with me endgame. 5 is my second favorite mainly because it's tone is a lot different + the story is a little bit more dynamic. The main characters have sidequests to flesh them out while the main story only scratches the surface at times (especially with Bartz). If you play it directly after playing 4 like I did, the tonal shift was such a surprise. 4's cast is very soap opera, it's hard for me to remember when there isn't some drama going on, honestly. 5's is rather; four unlikely strangers get chosen by the crystals to save the world and they go along with it, because why wouldn't you? The Job system is also really freaking fun and very easy to break the game with. 6's story is honestly one of the best in the series and has a really fun ensemble cast. I don't really have much else to say about it! XD
7&8 I used to have very strong negative feelings and opinions on, but I've chilled out on them since. It just used to irritate the 7 was the golden child that got everything (Two sequels, two prequels, two anime specials, several light novels, and cameoing in EVERYTHING) while the other titles in the series were being ignored. The game itself is good and popular for that reason, so I get why SE wanted to keep the fans interested by expanding the universe and lore. With 8, I just found 90% of it to be very underwhelming, but I played it YEARS ago with my little jaded teen mind and never replayed it, so IDK if those opinions would coincide with today's me. I'd honestly just say 'it's OK' overall, but the battle system will always blow regardless. I have been thinking about replaying it recently due to Final Fantasy 14 having a long raid series (really hard instanced boss battles) themed around FF8, and now that its been remastered, I can most likely cruise through the story with cheats on.
Annnyways, I hope you have fun, Ronin! Sorry for blabbing on about FF so much! XD

I just really wanted the extra stamina boost before going into the Dragonspire again. Having the ability to run faster for longer really helps when you need to get to the next torch looool. I'm gonna try some Condensed Resin when I start grinding my characters again for their talents. I've noticed the damage output on the MC could be better, and it my fault for ignoring leveling talents.
Remember that the MC is a free five star with their constellations being easily unlocked via sigils and AR rewards. It may be worth looking into tooling them up to help you out while waiting for some better options?

Maybe getting geoculous will be more necessary than I thought. Looks like focusing on Geo MC is the better plan for now since their constellations are purchasable. Afaik MC is super reliant on constellations to 'get good'. (I guess that's everybody but a handful of 5 stars at this point though.)
Looks like I'll be talent book farming for a while too.

Which I guess is fair. Everyone screams about not artifact farming until you hit 45, so maybe I won't worry for a while. I've definitely been slacking on those...they just take forever.

So I've already beaten 4 and loved that one, probably my favorite so far out of the ones I've played and actually beaten (1, 4, 9, and 15). I did play the DS version of 4 and hated it. I played the PSP version and loved that one a lot. 6 was one I was close to beating, but I lost the save data.
I'm probably gonna be focusing on my Switch backlog since I'm demolishing it whether that's giving up on games or finishing them. I'm playing Dust An Elysian Tail at the moment. This is all I have for Switch at the moment.
After this is done, my choices for consoles are a tad slim; I lent my Wii U to my roommate so he can play Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, I don't want to touch my PS4 until I get a PS5, and I don't want to touch my PC until we get a new place (my computer is in my bedroom and my boyfriend and I sometimes have different sleeping patterns, so getting a good groove on a PC game is halted if he's still asleep in the morning or if he has to go to bed early. I learned this while playing Cyberpunk 2077).
So that'll leave my one 3DS game and my Vita games.

Some may have seen my crying about it elsewhere already, but after a spate of unwanted FP events doubled by Town Rank events every day for what turned out to be 8 days in a row (!?!#!#@), I am finally done with them for now, and for the last two or three game days I've been able to go about farming and triggering the events I actually WANT. Got Haulani and Tigre yesterday and Ludus' 2nd friend event today. Will get Yuzuki's 1st friend event tomorrow, Hinata's 2nd friend event the day after that, and then Ludus' 1st love event on Friday and Ford's 1st love event on Saturday. I'm really behind on love events compared to previous plays of Trio, but I haven't been making any attempt to be organized and ahead of the game, this time. I think my progress otherwise is fairly similar, though.
*whew!* I don't want to think any further ahead than that. But it's different when you actually want and plan to trigger these events!
I still absolutely do not care about continuing with any new games right now. I have Fenyx at least half done, and Tumblestone maybe a quarter, and Torchlight III isn't started, nor is Cattails, since I only did the first day. I'm also totally ignoring ACNH again, LOL, after getting caught up...dang it. I am just so bored with it, even updates aren't reviving my interest. Festival looks uninteresting. Though I did really like the look of those lantern/balloon things I saw...I'm really not interested in yet another crafting material I have to catch with a bug net. Petals, leaves, snowflakes...I feel like the air has been filled with flying crafting materials for, like, half a year. Oh wait...it has, hasn't it? We'll swap from snowflakes to feathers and then finally back to petals.
They can call me if they add actual permanent changes rather than just returning our festivals to us one at a time (I might get interested if more crops were introduced, or if Brewster came back or QoL upgrades were implemented, such as bulk crafting, crafting from inventory, etc.) I need more interesting stuff to do every day in ACNH, not special events.
Happy enough just tootling around old games right now; feels cozy. Sticking to no new games purchased for as long as replays look more interesting than them.

Glad to see you enjoyed FF9 Ronin!!! It's my favorite in the series so I love seeing other people love it too. Of the others you listed I've only finished 6 & 7, but they're both solid games. Although I played 7 for the first time last year and I did feel like the gameplay didn't age all that well. The story is still worth experiencing, but I played almost the entire game on x3 speed because the default is slooooow and some of the enemies have comically long attack animations.
I'm still playing way too much FF14, just finished base Stormblood. There were some parts I loved (the Steppe was SO good, Doma in general was p good) but the other half was kind of meh. Overall I did like it, just not as much as Heavensward. I still have the patch content to do, though, which is usually the best part of the storylines, at least so far. I can't believe I'm closing in on Shadowbringers. I wasn't convinced that I'd be able to make it through such an immense amount of content but it's happening! It helps that the game is genuinely really great once you get past the ARR slog.

I kind of knew what to expect at the end since I read up on it, but seeing it is definitely different. I will say this though as I do have some criticisms.
Despite those criticisms, I definitely still enjoyed my journey with Zidane.

I finished a week of 'arranged' events, and am lining up my schedule for another week. I sure like when events go smoothly! But I know that crazy phase will happen again when the majority of my Lulukoko villagers start hitting 2 hearts (they're not far off!) And then it'll happen again with Tsuyukusa. Well, nothing I can do about that!
I didn't know for sure who I'd go for this time. In my very first play of Trio, I went for Ludus because his events had the most attention-grabbing 'pow', though Yuzuki's are the sweetest. He's the most to my preferences and I enjoyed my Yuzuki file (which I did on my second play) notably more post-marriage than I did my Ludus file. I also like Ford, I think he's the funniest, which makes him the 'cutest', but I don't think I ever need another file with that much forehead. Figured I'd end up going for Yuzuki again. But you know, I'm finding I totally want to go for Ludus again. There's not much doubt, at this point, I'm just surprised, lol.
Be so nice if new post-game content had been magically added since the last time I played, lol.
Not sure what I'll play when I'm done with this. Be good if I could finally deal with all the puzzles of Fenyx, but I still don't want to think about them.

So, did my daily Animal Crossing in New Leaf -Welcome Amiibo- (3DS).
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS), I did my first town ordinance (early bird), attended Flurry's birthday party, and made some extra money and stuff. Also, Clay's moving in.
I also got a bit farther in Pocket Card Jockey.
I couldn't do my Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout, because my parents and I went for like a 7 or 8 hour trip/drive, and so I couldn't workout.
I'm probably not going to finish the Balan Wonderworld demo. The game doesn't appeal to me much.

Well the good news is that I'm at the final dungeon for Cold Steel IV now. After 120+ hours, I'm finally in the home stretch. I'm not sure how long it'll take me honestly, but with my continual underestimation of the length of things, I wouldn't be shocked if it took me anywhere from another 5 to 7 hours. Just because of cutscenes.
I'm so close to being done. Then I can move on to things like Cafe Enchante. After CSIV, that's just what I need at this point.

I finished 999! Just like AI: Somnium Files, I binged the game (I finished at 1AM

) after getting my first ending lol
Thoughts below +spoilers (I also have questions, would be nice to hear from anyone else who's played the game)
Reddit says the sequels build on 999 further and explain some stuff, so I'll play those too; I already have them anyway. I originally planned to take a break from Zero Escape after the first game, but now I just wanna know how the sequels connect. and with that, maybe I'll just juggle three games (Virtue's Last Reward, Collar x Malice, Ni no Kuni) and play whichever I'm in the mood for xD

An update on my (still first) CP2077 playthrough, I have started on Act 3.
I'm still playing this and Nioh 2 (going to release this coming Friday) until SoS Pioneer of Olive Town comes out.

Gaming doesn't usually help adulting get done, but today was the Pumpkin Jamboree in Trio of Towns, which reminded me that I have some extra milk to use up, so it's time for CHOCOLATE PUDDING. Because why bother with vanilla or butterscotch when you can have chocolate? Which means I need to go out and make it, now. Forgot it once already, but the game reminded me. (My chocolate pudding is to die and/or murder for, no comparison at all to purchased or boxed, and it may use up all the eggs I have left, but it's worth it, and tomorrow is grocery day anyway. How I wish that meant that my groceries would rain gently down from the sky and I could just go harvest them like I'm harvesting my Trio crops each game morning. Grocery day could be like a treasure hunt around my own yard!)
Very happily nabbed a new painting from Redd in Windfall today, too...the one with the ermine. 9 to go, plus 2 sea critters in March, and the museum will be 100% complete until/unless they add more to it in future updates. Like a gyroid exhibition. We only have ONE more update coming before the game will already have been out a year and all the festivals will have been added back. I'm very curious about what updates they'll be doing from April onwards.
Tomorrow in Trio is the first day of Winter. I have no seeds!

Will have to run around early to buy them. Hit Westown B lock a game week or two ago, but will have to wait an entire season to break through it to A rank, since the winery is required. Lulukoko I have to wait TWO seasons for, to be able to harvest fresh Lulukoko flowers. Ugh, forgot that the requirement is to 'harvest' them, not to SHIP them. Same with tree fruits. Well, I will probably have the basement on Winter 14, but I also need to harvest tree crops, which take forever to grow, basement or not...they won't be ready much sooner in the basement than the ones I have growing outdoors would be. I'm just gonna have to leave old Lulu locked until Summer Year 2.)
But for now, real life is looking better than any gaming, because, well...
pudding.

I read this as 'Pikmin Jamboree' at first and went "HUH, WHAT? WAS THAT A THING IN TRIO???" lmao.
Kikki wrote:9 to go, plus 2 sea critters in March, and the museum will be 100% complete until/unless they add more to it in future updates. Like a gyroid exhibition.
One of the things that would get me playing again is bringing back Brewster + Gyroids. Once I finished paying off my house, got my town the way I liked, and got all the fossils in the museum, I lost interest to continue. But adding a NPC that isn't bound to a season with collectibles available year round would 100% tickle my fancy. I already put over 100 hours into the game regardless, so it's not a huge deal if I end up going back to it or not, but some more QoL improvements and non seasonal events would be such a nice thing to have. At this point, if I ever do get the urge to come back and complete what's already there, I'll just be time traveling / season hopping.

My life completely belongs to FFXIV and Genshin Impact starting Tue of next week. I even have to rush home from work today because my FC is doing a prep group for the next FFXIV update and they don't wanna start without me. I am thankfully off work the day the patch will be live, so I'm legit gonna spend the whole day working on it while it's hot!
Also, minor rant incoming: I am SO TIRED of outfits being stupidly gendered in FFXIV. From a business standpoint, I understand why there's different gendered outfits in the cash shop, because more $$$, but as for the outfits I can get in game without spending a dime of real money, STOP FREAKING RESTIRICTING THEM. They're not even consistent which makes it even more irritating! Like, yes, all races and genders can wear the tuxedos, wedding dresses, hula outfits, and fancy noble shirts/dresses, but that one skirt that's prefect for making a cosplay outfit? Pfft, thats a girl's skirt and you play a boooooy character! Square Enix, I'm gonna freaking lose it, I'm at my limit. I spent an hour last night trying to find a good skirt to finish my outfit, came up empty handed due to restrictions and ended up using shorts instead.
