I often don't understand Nintendo's decisions. Like, why haven't they implemented themes, at the very least? They can be paid themes, they don't need to be free. If I really like the theme, I'm willing to pay for it, just like I did on 3DS. (Whose activity log was WAY better than Switch's, btw. Why on earth did Nintendo take such a big leap backwards?)
And with your play activity, it has been infuriating from day one. Why does it only tell you how many hours you've played after 10 days have passed? And why doesn't it tell you your actual time rather than your time in 5 hour increments? And why can't you make any of your games private? I personally would choose to keep demos from ever entering my play activity, and games I tried but ended up not liking, I'd delete entirely. You can delete your play activity, but only ALL of it. Whyyyyyyy, Nintendo? Who does it benefit, for people to be able to see that I tried the demo of MOnster Hunter Rise for 5 minutes (or 'a little while' or whatever dumb thing it says when you've played fewer than 5 hours.) Plus it erases your play time after a while, or did to me! It told me I played XC2 for the first time TODAY, and that I have NO hours logged in it. Wth? I played it to completion on release, and again for a while just a few months ago to get a little more done on Ursula's questline!
I can't play today...too anxious. I don't know why; typically I'm not an anxious person. I think I have feminine issues incoming, but I don't associate anxiety with that. Once in a while, slight hyperness along with freakishly good mood, and once in a while, a bit of crankiness or extra sensitivity, but that's about it.
Maybe I'll boot up Farm Together. That game is chill. Just farm. Farm and farm and farm your cartoony-looking crops, atop your trusty, cute cartoony tractor, putting along. No social aspect, just farming, with seasons changing every 15 minutes, unlocking crops by raising the level of your other crops. I don't know why I like it, but I've clocked quite a few hours (plus all my activity got deleted at one point, like a bunch of people's die, so it's higher than the number currently showing in my log.)

I totally agree that the Switch UI is such a step back from the 3DS UI in so many ways. I miss the themes, the badges, the detailed activity log, organizing games myself, the little jingles that play when you scroll over games, putting things in folders... The Switch menu looks (and sounds!) so bland and boring by comparison. And they're obviously tracking more detailed playtime statistics than they show because of that "Year in Review" thing they send out, but of course that only comes once a year and is still more limited than the 3DS Activity Log.
Anyways, I finally beat a run of Hades! I plan to keep going to get more achievements and see more of the story of course, but it's probably going to be slower progress than before, more of a "pick up and play" than a continual effort.
Mainly I've been playing Persona 3 Portable, and I have a
lot to say that's very spoiler-y so I'll toss it down here. (Warning: major spoilers!!!!)

Hey everyone.
First I understand and agree with all of the frustration about the Switch's lack of themes, it's weird playtime tracking, and that the 3DS' little nuances and other things were much better than what's currently on the Switch.
Today, I played more Animal Crossing: New Leaf on the 3DS. Getting close to unlocking Kapp'n and the Island because Tortimer showed up in my town today. Today in New Leaf was Groundhog Day in the US. I've played slightly over 8 hours on my new digital copy.
I also did my daily exercise in Fitness Boxing 2.
Computer wise, I forgot to mention I started up Kind words (on Steam), but don't really care for it, because it's more like a crisis hotline/helpline where you respond to ACTUAL people.

But there are little stickers that you collect and receive for helping people???
I also started playing Tears 9,10 (a Korean visual novel; from/on Steam) today. I played about 30 minutes and really enjoy the story. According to the reviews on team, I can estimate the game being a few hours long with substantial/necessary replay value. On the HowLongToBeat website, not enough data is listed.
Maybe I'll boot up Animal Crossing: New Horizons to see which holiday(s) are being celebrated on my island today. Probably Groundhog Day since I live in the US.
Also, I still plan on finishing the Steam Prison demo.

Yesterday my body randomly gave me the gift of baseless anxiety, and today it kindly does not want me to become bored, and has given a second gift, of equally baseless mopey-ness. Couldn't deal with winter in Trio (dumb, I know, but I couldn't!) so didn't play that yesterday and finally before bed last night went onto my completed (into post-game with some more tablet targets to hit and things to rebuild) DQB2 file, and I built Captain Brownbeard a lighthouse-esque home by the dock, which I really liked and it was fun.
Went back on this morning to see what else I could build, and ended up revamping the approach to the temple a little and built a hall behind the Hermit to look out toward Cerulean Steppes with couches lining the walkway and marble floors and paper lanterns, and it's cute, too, but for some reason I kept getting sadder. Went onto ACNH for about two minutes, no Redd, grabbed a Festivale pennant/flag thing, and exited, since that was all I wanted to do. Which is fine.
I was only a few game days away from completing the Farming Tips entirely. I had already beaten "Mr. D" and only had to raise my brand one more time, and the animal festival was coming up, so it would have been done, and I'd have gotten the basement and could have started planting a bunch of trees down there, and the flowers I'll need for Tsuyukusa's B-to-A lock. I also got a nice blue rose at the flower festival, so was able to start growing them in my first winter, and I want to get them as high as possible and brand them up and start growing them in bulk for the $$$$. In the very front of my brain, I wanna play it. But all the top and back is like
no, nooooo! I should clean the house instead, then, but ha ha HA.
I want to go back to DQB2 again and build a spa and pool for my hardworking villager sisters, Lillian and Saffron. Too bad the hardest working characters of the entire game, the nameless Killing Machine and Chimera, don't use spas or pools or even appear to ever eat. All I can do is give them rooms with animal beds in and there's nothing else I can do to treat them as nicely as they deserve. (My chimera cooks and brews like a demon, even better than Lillian, and the killing machine is the best farmer in the universe, particularly with being able to turn one seed into an item that covers 9 crop spaces.)
I also want to go back to Furrowfield and fix it up with spiffier blocks and a few extra speciality rooms. Not Khrumble-dun, though. Those lazy butts just drink all day and go for swims in the pool and never do a lick of work, whether farming or cooking, and they don't even mine for you any more after you complete the story. They don't deserve
anything from me.

I feel like knocking their gold bar down entirely, tbh, and maybe the silver one, too. The copper bar was as much as they needed! It was huge and beautifully equipped.
I don't know if I'll play at all, even though there are things I definitely want to do in Trio and DQB2. I feel like the most constructive choice of the day is
sleep.

You know, despite Tokyo Xanadu not being my thing, I really like the in-game idol group SPiKA. Every single one of their songs slap and I'm legit disappointed they're not a real music group outside of the game. They only have 4 songs and it's honestly a shame because they have a really good sound. Thankfully they're all on the CD that came with the LE, so I can listen to them whenever, but still, I'd love more.
Gonna be getting into Genshin Impact in a little bit. It has been a colossal « Cow Poopoo » day. I didn't sleep last night due to being over stimulated (watched the finale of an anime right before bed and couldn't get it out of my head) + my husband being too loud on voice chat (he got way too animated and my sound canceling phones were ineffective). Then I had to work at 5 am, eight hour shift. Got home to find a package I sent a friend was send back to be due to invalid address. Finally, my Tamagotchi died after I'd been taking such good care of it. I'm hoping the gatcha decides to be kind to me, because I'd love some Diona constellations. She is my party's weakest link, but she's my favorite and I refuse to replace her. If it's not, well, it's just not my day so whatever. Rolling gives precious materials regardless.
I need a stiff drink.

Hope you feel better tomorrow, Bluie! I'll keep fingers crossed for Diona. One thing - not sure if you've heard this yet...but, be careful if you're getting close to soft pity wishing on the Xiao banner - I've heard he can cause motion sickness.
--
Aaand all I have is Genshin talk. I actually love the new boss. He beeg. And mostly a big hit sponge, so long as you throw a shield up for his ult. I doubt I'll need to fight him, though. Kinda wonder whose level up material he drops...I know the speculation was Xiao.
It took me a bit after I started playing to realize that you have to get Zhongli to ascension 4 to unlock a lot of his upgrades. He's built very poorly (I have no good weapon for him) but with ascension 4 I saw a pretty big spike. We shall see. I'm still sitting on most of my primos. I rolled one more set of 10 on Ganyu's banner and lucked out on a Xingqiu copy. Definitely means he's my goal for the freebie.
If I'm feeling conservative Keqing's banner is the better bet...more copies of Bennet and Ninguang are always good, and Keqing is a cannon, just not made of glass. I love plunge attacks though.

That's honestly the big temptation...the boy is made of plunge attacks. And I am tempted.

Seems like a good thing you guys have Genshin Impact to fall back on, since there's a few of you who don't have anything else you're into at the moment!
My mood is mostly back to normal today, it seems. Winter fog-head still in evidence, but that's not likely to pass in February. But I do feel more like playing today. I mean, MORE like sleeping, but yesterday and the day before, picking Trio back up was just such a burdensome thought, lol, so I didn't. But I probably will, today, if I get some RL stuff done first. Which I think I can, even though my feet got a bit damaged yesterday. I'll just have to put on my squishiest shoes, or the super, ridiculously fluffy slipper socks my aunt gave me. If I fold the leg down to the ankle, they look like booties rather than socks, with a thick fleece cuff.
I have some things I want to do in DQB2.
- Fix up Furrowfield with classier blocks and a few extra amenities.
- Complete all Tablet Targets (I think I have about 8 of 60 left.)
- Unlock all task-unlockable recipes (I have around 5-10 of them left.)
- Add some gardens and water spaces to Moonbrooke.
- Fix up the dock area further and turn it into a little village leading up to the Temple.
- Add a water repository to the east of the dock to keep the waters other than pure and sea...muddy water, plasma, poison water, lava, etc.
- Build every type of room once to add to builderpedia.
- Make every type of recipe to get them added to the builderpedia.
- Create all 3 possible Buildertopias...I have one saved so far...and move away any undesirable residents.
Eventually turn each of them into a proper living place/town full of residents.
I normally am not into watching streamers/Youtubers play games, but I couldn't resist watching
Dee Bee Geek play Xenoblade for the first time after just introducing himself to the series a week or two ago via trailers had never seen before. I got goosebumps watching him be amazed by those worlds. His first play video is really fun, too. Probably won't watch the whole series since I have already played this game nearly to death and don't need to watch someone else do all 450+ sidequests, all of which I have already done numerous times, but watching the first one was really fun. A great intro to the first Xenoblade, if anyone is curious about it but hasn't decided if they want to play it or not. The first video where he
watches all the trailers for the first time, and the second video
where he actually starts playing XC1 (the remastered version) for the first time would both be fun introductions to the series, though the first one is better for people who want to play the beginning without spoilers.
Well, if I'm gonna goof off, I should go do some actual work first. Plus my feet are probably going to get more painful rather than less, so better do get my standing and walking over with earlier.

Thanks, Mikodesu, I'm a little better today.
Gacha was surprisingly generous. I got 3 Dionas, 2 Xinyan, 1 Beidou, 1 Xiao, and 2 of the book/catalyst I use on Sucrose (my 2nd most powerful character). Was hoping to get a full constellation Diona, but ah well, I'm not going to complain too much with the results! I didn't want Xiao and I'll probably never use him honestly. I think it's a little fun I can have a whole Anemo team now that doesn't include the Traveler (Sucrose, Jean, Venti, Xiao - I somehow have managed to get all of them), but having all one element is not a very good idea loool.
I honestly wish I had a better character to replace Fischl on my team, because I am just not a fan of her at all, but she's so powerful. Taking her off my team would ultimately hinder me. The game still gives her to me semi often even after having her full constellation, which drives me slightly insane. The fandom calls her a 'machine gun' and that's exactly it. Summon Oz and shoot while he's out = extreme DPS damage. Rest of my team is Diona (Healer/minor AOE damage), full constellation Sucrose (Major AOE damage), and full constellation Geo Traveler (Shield breaker/minor DPS). I legit can't think of any other character in my immediate possession that could take over her spot without the team taking a major dip in damage output. I might consider Xinyan if she manages to get her last constellations, but her energy recharge is gonna need some proper tooling to be able to keep up. Plus, ugh, freaking violetgrass. Major pain in my « Mr.Gourmet's hat » is more like it. >:/
I'm... slightly nervous to go to AR 40. I'm over half way to it and will most likely reach it today in my play session. I'm picking up all the quests I've been ignoring and I plan to do a full sweep of Mondstadt to get every area up to 100% explored. Enemies aren't overly challenging right now and I like it like that, but I also really want access to the Childe, Ganyu, and Zhongli stories locked behind AR 40 (I've been maxed out on commission keys FOREVER). I'll also have to grind my « Mr.Gourmet's hat » off to get everyone up to the next level they need to be so we don't get roflstompted by the enemies. Fortunately, I have friends and family members who all play and would be more than willing to help me grind my mats, and I may take them up on it.
------
I'm not playing much else atm, but some smaller games have caught my attention. Marchen Forest released out of nowhere in the eShop and it looks so kayoot! I'm gonna put it next to Giraffe and Annika in my wishlist as they're both adorable Japanese indie games that I want to eventually play. I'm also really intrigued by TASOMACHI:Behind the Twilight, which is so far only coming to PC, but who knows! I can dream! I'll probably also play Littlewood when it releases on Switch because it looks pretty fun. Hopefully it gets through the approval process without a hitch!
I have almost TWO MONTHS of nothing before Monster Hunter, so I may take this time to play some smaller indies between my current fall back game play sessions.

Real quick, then I'll shut up...
Don't fear the AR40, Bluie!

(Glad you're on the mend, btw.) Speaking from my half an Adventure Rank of experience, it's not too bad. Enemies do hit a bit harder (the biggest issue is Abyss Mages, honestly, since they get their aura...trap, things...out in the field). But it's not a huge jump. I have no hyper carries, no 5 star weapons, and I'm doing okay. (Afaik if you haven't already it would be worthwhile to invest more in Venti. Pretty much anything but Abyss you come up against they can curb stomp it.)
The He-Who-Has-Not-Been-Named weekly boss does hit a lot harder at AR40. He got off both of his ults when I fought him yesterday and very close to KO-ing one of my team members, but aside from that it's very doable. Eat more. The battle pass rewards you for cooking anyway.

Two days ago, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch) I checked to see if there was an event for Groundghog Day and there was none. I did replace Nate with a cute monkey Jock character (Flip, the monkey), though.

First time I think I changed any of my Islanders/Villagers. Also, got all the posters for all my villagers via the current amiibo cards that I own. Thought I should finish that.
Yesterday I played Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS) and finally got access to the Island. Olaf also moved in, or finished moving in. I was busy yesterday donating lots of stuff to the museum. And getting lots of medals.
Today in Animal Crossing: New Leaf (3DS), Fuchsia (Deer) moved into my town and I spent even more time on the Island. I had lots of stuff I donated today, and I know there's still more stuff I need to donate.
Yesterday, I wasn't able to do my daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2 because I went out with my dad in the evening to see the new Studio Ghibli movie, Earwig and the Witch. It was really good.
Also, related to Animal Crossing, yesterday, I put all my Animal Crossing Amiibo cards in my new card binder, and organized my first card binder, which now has nothing but Pokemon cards in it.
I played a tiny bit of the Steam Prison demo today, still really like it, but couldn't continue playing it more, because I was helping my mom with groceries, and the desire to play more after that lessened considerably.
I plan on doing at least my daily workout in Fitness Boxing 2 today.

I've started Virtue's Last Reward. So far, I'm liking 999 better.. the controls/UI is definitely better in VLR (sometimes I find myself hoping I got the game for the 3DS instead) but I'm missing the 2D portraits and voice acting for the main character which they had in 999. I also find Sigma's pervyness quite uncomfortable, which is weird because I found it okay with Date (AI: Somnium Files) :/ I think it might be because Sigma is not voiced so it feels like
I'm Sigma but I don't really identify myself as a pervert; idk how to make green jokes lmao
Also, I'm only 5hrs in but got locked out of two paths already lool the suspense when the screen suddenly goes black and says "to be continued" or "game over"

It was fiddly, so it took a bit...but I finished my invisible water storage as quickly as I could, thanks to BenXC. I've also built almost every room, now, to get them added to my Builderpedia. I've logged 86% of the room/set recipes. I have 16 rooms and 2 sets left, not logged, and some of them are not possible for me until I hit 80 stars of fanciness, which I really hate doing since I can't stand adding fanciness to the rooms just to get extra stars...they end up looking so gaudy.

Then it's on to the food recipes, argh...just as many! But I'm currently working on a large fishing hole for Gillian, Finn and Molly. Progress is being made, anyhow, and I got actual work done yesterday, and my feet are in better condition today than they were yesterday, though they still require some babying.
Going onto ACNH for the standard this morning: check to see if Redd is there, and buy whatever Festivale item is in the shop. *shrug* I'm okay with that. Might play a bit more when spring is back...I'm sick of seeing white. I also want better bug and fish catching...I do need to pay off that ridiculously huge loan to get the final upgrade to storage.
I'm really looking forward to spring. IRL, of course, but even in the game(s). I seem to play a lot of games with changing seasons! Didn't go back to Trio because I was so busy filling out the Builderpedia, but I mean to, darn it...it just slips away while I'm doing other things.

I finished Dust an Elysian Tail last night. Such a good game and it's a shame that a sequel isn't out yet.
I tried starting Fire Emblem Three Houses up again since my roommate started over, but it's not the time to replay it.
No idea what I'll do for this next week since I'll be waiting for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.

I just started Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and maaaan is this game gorgeous *w* I caught a glimpse of it in the opening credits; apparently the music in the game was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra?? That's amazing. With that and the animations from Studio Ghibli, I can already see this as a comfy game.

My nose has hurt for a week.

You know how your nose gets all chafed feeling when you have a cold and have to use tissues too often? Like that. Except I don't have a cold and haven't been using tissues. And our house is very high humidity, so it's not dry air that's doing it. I don't get it. I have a headache, too, and my eyeballs hurt, but I know the why of that. -__- Only the nose thing is weird.
~
Well, that's not very gamey! But it was really bugging me. On to game talk, then! I...
deleted my BotW file this morning. Which sounds awful, but I did it on purpose. Even though my original file has fully upgraded ancient armour (well, it has fully upgraded ALL armours except barbarian, I think.) But there's no fun to be had in playing a completed file, so I figure
what the hey and went ahead and hit 'new game'. All the fun is in starting over. I also want to scrap my ACNH island and restart! I'm not going to because I couldn't stand to collect all those DIYs again, and those tens of millions of bells, but...I want to. If a Switch Pro ever comes out, I'll be buying ACNH again and starting a new town, and Windfall will moulder, probably never touched again...but
I'll know it's still there, which is apparently all that matters. (Beside, I'll need it to trade stuff with myself!)
A wonderful thing about BotW I never really noted before, but am appreciating more now that I've seen how hideously different cutscene art is from in-game art in RF5 (and many other games, including as the Tales series)...the art style of the game doesn't change even a hair when you're suddenly swept up into a scene. So it's like you're playing the cutscene art all the way through the game.
A thing that would have made this game extra wonderful is if I could have decorated some part of this lovely world to my on liking. A house, a garden, whatever. I know you can build yourself a house, but it's all pre-set...there's no sense of ownership, for me. I'll have to content myself with gathering every mushroom and plant I see and cooking, I guess.
~
I'm not somebody who enjoys livestreams or even YouTube gamers all that much, but watched the full of Dee Bee Geek's first-ever BotW video (I can't believe it's the first Zelda he ever played, he really must be a PS4-Xbox only kinda guy.) Also hard to believe he'd never so much as watched a Xenoblade trailer before. Watched his first Xenoblade video too, which was fun, and he livestreamed another last night, but I don't tune in to livestreams and I don't intend to watch the video either...it's really only fun to watch a player discover these thing for the first time, not on an ongoing basis. For me anyway. Thanks for the entertaining two hours, Dee Bee Geek, but I don't think I'll be converting to the type of gamer who watches videos of other people playing or commentating on games.
~
Had loads of fun with DQB2 again yesterday, mainly in getting my first Buildertopia set up so I could ship any unwanted residents (including all of my cats, dogs and cows) out there. But I can't leave them with no place to sleep or eat or take a bath, so I had to turn it into a proper tiny town. Also built some 'dark' stuff under Green Gardens...a Chapel of the Children and a Summoning Chamber, but I really hate them, and villagers would come and cower in fear in them, wasting their time, so I knocked the doors off.
I think I'll move any 'dark' stuff out toward the dock/Temple. I wish you could assign residents to that area...a fourth region of the Isle of Awakening to populate would be great. I could move most of my monsters out there.
~
No progress on Trio. Lately I really don't want to have to think much while gaming, plus not wanting to deal with winter in games while I'm dealing with it IRL (even though yesterday was quite beautiful IRL, for February). I'm just playing by whim right now. Whatever I want, whatever's fun in the moment...that's it. Feels irresponsible, lol. But is gaming supposed to be a pastime characterised by
responsibility?
