And what good is having some stranger running around in your world when they can't really DO anything and you have no way to communicate? Skree. I don't THINK Genshin has voice chat - haven't combed through the settings for it though. And I'm...not sure I want to.
I am very much loving the touch of Mihoyo SLOWLY decorating Liyue Harbor for the lantern festival, though. It's simple, but it's interesting.
Genshin on PS4 is even more terrible because the loading times are a bit longer :/ Everytime I playing with my friends (Mobile and PC) they ask me when I'm coming and I'm like 'Folks, loading screens of doom!' It's frustrating.
Besides of that: Sitting comfy at my AR 45 and will wait to advance until Latern festival has ended. I'm pretty confident in my skills - and my Diluc XD - but I want to chill a little more, building up a few more characters and but a team together for Xiao-baby (which will not include Sucrose sadly because I need her for Diluc). Trying to run Xiao with Chongyun, Xingqiu and Beidou. Let's see how this works. At least I got a full Mondstadt team and a full Liyue team then! Hah!
Besides Genshin I'm currently doing a timetravel through all Pokemon-Gens and regions! Currently playing Red with a Squirtle and asking myself how I do manage to travel without runnig shoes? It's so slow XD" Not settled with the next game - maybe Platinum or Heartgold. But it's pretty funny to see the older games again and using mons I don't use normally!

The adventure mode in Ring Fit was so, so big, it felt like there was no end to it. Early on, Nintendo claimed that if you played it for about half an hour a day, it'd last you about 3 months, but I dunno...seemed bigger than that! Maybe if you made a point of progressing as fast as possible, rather than exercising? The gameplay loop became really irritating after a while...catching up with the bad guy and him losing to you, just to fly off saying you hadn't won yet, over and over.

@Daikon boy: I think Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana is a great place to start, personally. I played some of SEVEN, enhanced for PC, and it was fun, but the story was very barebones, even though it was the most story-driven of the games by most accounts, before VIII and IX came along. Before them, Ys was very much gameplay-driven. Falcom is good at making their various gameplay systems fun. People play for the combat, for the music (Falcom is also known for great soundtracks) and the WORLD LORE.
I won't get going too much on world lore, but fans of Falcom games tend to have a real lust for lore, because it's Falcom's strong suit. They create extremely deep, layered worlds, even for game series that have little actual story. Both Ys and Legend of Heroes are series known for their lore. Up until recently Ys wasn't known for being story driven, but Legend of Heroes (Trails in the Sky subseries, Trails of Cold Steel subseries, etc.) really, really IS. They are immense, and intensely story-driven. In fact, people trying to play through Cold Steel tend to need mental health breaks after they finish, lol, and won't play any RPGs for a while after, because it's like taking in a universe all at once, and they need a rest! But still the fans go gooey over the lore. I think it's great to have a deep, well-crafted world for your games to take place in, but I can't fall in love with a game based on world lore.
The world lore of Ys is probably the main reason why some Ys fans would say you should play the games in 'this' order or 'that' order...so that you see the hints of world lore in a certain order. Which is not a concern of mine, so I say you should play in whatever order you want, and Ys VIII was the first game I actually completed, because the meaty and fairly unique main story made it really interesting and I always wanted to see what would happen next with what was going on with Adol and Dana, who had this connection even though they were separated by eons of history.
~
My head is hurting again (stupid cycle) but I'm looking forward to my five minutes of Animal Crossing this morning, lol, to check for Redd and buy whatever cute Festivale item is in the shop. If Chip is there I will play longer, though, as I need to make sum dam munny. I still owe 1,600,000 on my final house reno, before I can get those 800 extra storage slots, and I need the space! I keep running out, and have to go through my inventory to see if there are any duplicates, or anything I know I'll never use, and grab it all and cart it to the store to sell to make a little extra room.
No other game plans right now. (Though these latest posts make me want to replay Ys VIII.) I feel like I should do something that isn't gaming. Even though I have hectic times coming up and should take advantage of this time pre-April-to-July. I'm honestly nervous, thinking of April. I have to help take care of my grandma starting then, because she can't be left alone, and I barely know my grandma and I have a hard time hearing her when she speaks (she has that old-lady quiet fuzzy-murmur type of voice) so it adds extra stress to forced socialization.
Looks like it is going to be sunny today! Of course, with the clear skies come breathtakingly cold temperatures, but I can still enjoy the sunshine from my window.

Welp, I literally said I wasn't gonna do the world boss grinding in Genshin, but then went and did it anyways. My SiL has a dedicated Genshin group that she plays with several times a week and they were down a player, so I got invited. I told then what I needed, they told me what they needed, and so we killed a lot of bosses. We got an absolute crapton achievements (a lot of 'Kill X before they do X' or 'Deal X amount of damage') and I let them pillage everything in my world except the materials I know I'll need. It was overall a fun experience and being in a discord call with all of them helped us call out attacks or announce where the healing was being placed down. With the Mora and Mats on hand I managed to ascend Diona and get her to level 75. Still need to gather the flowers for Sucrose and Xinyan before I can get them going. Xinyan needs 45 Violet Grass *groan*, but I am getting better at remembering where they're at! I also ascended some talents to the point where I need the instanced bosses materials, so I guess I'll have to start doing them weekly when I have the chance. I am burning through my fragile resin pile so fast though. I am glad I had stockpiled so many so I could more or less get all the mats I needed, but I'm also really bummed to see the majority of it wiped out. ;w;
I have a few days off of work this week, so I plan on flip-flopping between FFXIV and Genshin. FFXIV more to just do dailies + leveling Dancer (it also has a Valentines event this week) and Genshin to participate in the Lantern Festival + slowly work on getting materials. I still need to do a decent sweep of the map too, but if I'm going to be killing mooks for time trials and locked chests, I'd like to be able to do it in good time. I've basically done everything in the Dragonspire except the weeklies, so there's that.
My poor Switch though lol. I have every intention to get back to Warframe and Xenoverse 2 eventually. I also wanna play some more Project Diva, but the pull of the PS4 is a tad bit too strong atm. I might see if I can slip some Switch time in before work today!

I just started playing the trails games too. I started with sky (though I have played a small amount of cold steel, I don't own the game) and I'm hoping to grab up the next few games In line for me on the next sales (if they go on sale then.) I ended up really liking the game a lot apart from a few writing choices here and there, and I'm definitely the kind of person who feels compelled to talk to everyone which makes trails really good for me (and xenoblade...not as much there.)
Hoping ys goes on sale for a good price for golden week so I can try it soon, but I just have to wait and see.
I'm not super crazy on world building without a good story/characters going on myself. I can enjoy worldbuilding, but if that's all there is and nothing else, I probably won't like it very much. There are exceptions, but more likely than not I'm not going to be interested without that other stuff coming in to save it for me. Sometimes I do enjoy a game that has less-words, in it, but they're never going to be my favorite.
I tried to play sakuna last night but it was bothering me too, so I switched to little town hero and fe three houses, before I had to put it down because I was out of battery. (My switch also felt a little warm and I'm not sure if it would get hotter than that or not, so I would have given it a break anyways. I finished up the month first though.)

Well, after finishing up an anime, I decided to go back into games. I've eliminated 4 games from my backlog for various reasons.
Evoland 2: I was getting frustrated at the puzzles and the sudden stealth mission thrown in. I'm not a fan of stealth in general, especially when you change it up (First the guards only see you if you look straight at them and now it's all angles? The heck!)
Mages of Mystralia: In a word: boring. I can get through the gameplay just fine, but the game is boring to play through.
Wargroove: Turns out I liked it better just playing with my friends online. The campaign and the gameplay aren't what I was expecting.
The Red Strings Club: So while I like the writing and was eager to continue it, the cocktail making and some other various gameplay elements aren't my cup of tea (ha). Coffee Shop had better mechanics imo.
And those were all the short games on Switch I had left; everything else is an at least 30 hour RPG and I know I won't have time to beat one of them between now and Friday. I was gonna try and beat at least one of them, but they all ended up getting eliminated just because I didn't like them. I'm gonna play Golden Sun Dark Dawn again and see if I can enjoy it.

Oh man I feel so bad for Genshin players on PS4. It hurts, but thinking about it...Breath of the Wild was like that. You can wander around the persistent world easily enough, but...hit a loading screen, make a sandwich.
--
THREE TIMES today while I was playing Genshin did I get co-op invaded. Once while I was in the middle of a boss, and the forced load screen reset the damn boss! I tried going through Mihoyo's feedback thing...and haven't submitted anything yet. I'm not sure there's a way to just submit feedback and not open a support ticket. I don't really need a reply, just...know that this is happening.
On the positive side of things I tweaked my Zhongli build again, and I'm pretty happy with the damage! (Little over 1300 ATK now...crit rate/dmg is a little low, though.) And I still need better artifacts, but when is that not an issue? I'm working on a crit build for Geo Traveler that should be pretty good as a support...
And at the moment I'm kind of thinking I won't throw any more primos at Xiao. He's a hyper-carry, which I need, but...in a lot of situations he's limited by swirl, which I don't like.

I don't know if Hutao is going to be as much FUN, but she seems like she'll end up as the more versatile 5 star, which...is the safe option?

Not to post too many times in a row but I've been thinking of picking up Catherine again. It's really easy, but I haven't played it in a few months so It'll be a little bit of remembering how to play again before I get back into things.
It's seems like I'm almost at the end of it, but the game really can't be that short, can it? It feels like it should be longer, but I don't think it is. If it's really almost over I'll be done with it in a few play sessions at most, so it would be nice to get it over with, and the puzzle bits are so quick and easy they're kind of fun. Good to play when I don't want to focus on another type of game or leveling up or something. I also don't want to play the game in the daytime since my tv is very visible to anyone who walks in to grab something or do laundry or whatever else they're there for and its, well, Catherine, so it's a good time to play it.
I bought it mostly because people were talking about it and persona and I just cannot watch other people play a game. I have to play it myself or not at all. I don't know why I keep buying games that are about dating girls with other more interesting stuff going in inbetween (or other more interesting stuff going on all the time with a strong emphasis on dating girls inbetween) when I don't care about dating girls at all but.

They've gone on sale every lunar new year since 2018, so I'd definitely expect them to get a discount in 2 days. I want to get 3rd myself, so have been looking it up.

Thank you for letting me know that. I've been waiting for that sale and hoping they'll go on sale for it but thinking it was unlikely because they were just on sale last time. That brings my hopes up. I have just enough on my gift card to buy the next two games if they do go on sale. That'll be all my purchases until golden week (minus my upcoming preorders,) if they do. Wish me luck.

It's not that bad ... besides I started on the PS4 and it's kinda my main account so I don't want to drop it. Also got Diluc and Xiao there *cough* I just need to remind my friends that I'm a bit slower XD"
---
Not sure if I should keep pulling for more Beidou merges or wait till next banner and getting Ning. She's the last 4* character I needed. And I'm settled with a C1 Xingqiu for my free 4* unit.
Also I'm hating the weekly bosses so much ... I mean I love Tartaglia but why must he either drop no weapon or when he do dropping one it's a freaking spear! I need more claymores or at least swords.
Also raised Kaeyas talents to Level 6 and uff, I love him so much <3 Need to get his artefacts done and maybe I can use him as a main? He can be mained I know that and I want that because I love him!
On the other hand: I'm halfway thorugh Pokemon Red! But I don't know if I get the rest of the games done before March ... well.

So, yesterday and today I played more of the
Steam Prison demo.
Yesterday, I played more of
Half-Past Fate. I'm on Chapter 4 now.
I hope to finish, or progress in my first playthrough of Half-Past Fate more today (make it to any further chapters or complete the game).
My pre-order for
Half-Past Fate: Romantic Distancing (on Switch) was confirmed. It releases on Valentine's Day.
Also, on February 12th (this Friday), I'm picking up my pre-order for
Super Mario: 3D world + Bowser's Fury, and hopefully picking up some Steam and Nintendo e-shop cards in addition to that.

I'm debating restarting pokemon mystery dungeon gates to infinity. I'm at the very end of the game (Or at least I think I am) but am struggling to beat the current boss, and I started the game years ago and never finished it. I still remember generally some of the stuff that happened before so it's not that that's the problem, but maybe I'd actually finish it if I replayed it?
I've played the other mystery dungeon games multiple times over as a kid, but never beat this one. I've had it for a few years so it would be nice to get it done with, but I don't know which would be better for that.

Some games are worth restarting in my opinion if I don't remember what I was doing or to begin with a better idea of what to do. I've done that many times with the older Harvest Moon games.
I haven't knocked out any more games yet, but I have been messing with my Stardew farms in anticipation for the update that's supposed to come to consoles soon. So happy I finally found a dinosaur egg in the desert mine in my main file, but it's taking forever to hatch. I also got farther in my Joja file.
Speaking of restarts, I started a new file in My Time at Portia a couple days ago after not playing it for nearly a year now after beating it. This time I am playing a boy character and will likely go after Ginger. (Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment considering last time it was Aadit/Arlo, lol.)

It's event day in both FFXIV and Genshin! While my character can't wear the moogle hat they're giving out (#HrothgarProblems) I am looking forward to the plush! I collect plushies in-game and it'll go nice with the rest I've managed to nab (some are very rare or expensive!). I also recently found out I can augment my lvl 50 White Mage robe to be dyeable, and I am gonna get that done today, because yes please. I've wanted to dye it for ages and just didn't realize I could until today. New glam here I come!!!
I managed to get all the rewards for the photographer event in Genshin. Now that was a well thought out and fun event. More of those and less dumb food delivery. I honestly haven't been following the news too much for the Lantern Festival, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
I tried out my new controller on my Switch and I like it a lot! It's perfectly sized for my little hands and I really prefer playing Project Diva with it over normal controllers. The 'hold all' notes are much easier to hit with it. There's a growing list of indie on the Switch I'm getting the urge to play lately. April is very much going to be a tug-o-war with me playing Monster Hunter and NieR, but until then I'm riding the waves of all my updating games. The thing is, I realized a lot of my games require the internet, and yesterday we were without it for some time. I played Project Diva until it was back, but it honestly would've been a great time to crunch an Indie and add another feather to my 'played indies' hat. Spiritfarer, Haven, Giraffe and Annika, and Märchen Forest all have my attention and I may purchase one of them before the week is done.

I'm definitely getting Haven, just not yet. Though the combat looks complicated, though...I can't tell if it's live or turn-based. I'll definitely be trying to avoid it as much as I can either way, since levelling up has very little to do with your level at all.
~
Talking about Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana reminded me that I've only ever played it once and though I remember the vague overall framework of the game, I had forgotten the details and the gameplay elements almost entirely, so...replaying it. It's an NG+ file, so it's much faster. I'm at the end of Chapter 5, and the game has 6 chapters in all, so I'm nearly done, though chapter 5 and 6 are the longest ones. (Chapter 6 can be extra long if you left your reputation low and need to raise it a lot before the final battle. Though you should never do that anyway, since so many opportunities permanently expire as the story progresses.) This is a really fun game, the gameplay systems all work really well.
Makes me reeeeeeeally want to play Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, though, though I hear the plot is a bit more predictable in that one. But I'm gonna wait on that too. Got to figure out if I can alter the camera enough, to start with. The demo is just ten minutes of combat, so I don't care about it, other than being able to play the the camera adjustments until I find the least nauseating setting.
