The dyslexic in me read that as retardgamessimside wrote: ↑Jun 22, 2024 10:56 am Rear Sekai is getting an English-language release as… *squints hard at notes* Elerentaros Wanderings.

You can jump between the fantasy world to the real world, which is a school setting, so I wonder how romance will work in the game…

It looks...weird. Probably not in a good way. So far I'm leaning toward 'no thanks', but it's pretty hard to be sure of the game right now. Still, it doesn't look very promising for me, at least.
It's probably okay to ask here, but you could also try the farming sticky thread, since it's a farming game.
I'm afraid that's unlikely at this point. The game doesn't appear to have ever had an early access phase, and with it only out two days... I haven't seen anyone talking about it in the backlog thread, I know that much.K8sMum wrote: ↑Jun 22, 2024 7:55 am I know it's early, but has anyone been playing Everafter Falls? Any thoughts on is it worth buying? Are you enjoying it?
(Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask. I never seem to know exactly where to post things here. Do I start a new topic for questions such as this? For some reason, tis a puzzlement to me.)

Well, this will surprise NO ONE, but it did come sooner than expected. Seems that the next Trails game, Daybreak 2 (not the actual title), is already confirmed. Playstation leaked its existence via an English listing on their Network.
The article supposes the official announcement will come on July 5, which is the day the first game releases in English, and is also the day that NISA has a panel at Anime Expo.
And meanwhile, I still haven't even played the demo for the first game, and it'll be releasing THIS WEEK. Well, I guess I can't get very excited about any Trails that does not contain Rean. They're great stories, but they've become so formulaic that Rean is really what I play for. There's just something about a protagonist who is so intensely depressed and self-loathing, and covering it all with hard work toward duty, that I just can't take my eyes away from. No matter how happy the end of a game, I remain worried about the boy, wondering when that safety net will split under the pressure.

I was really sad when this leaked, because Falcom/NISA had hyped a big announcement, and I was hoping it was Ys Memoire. Then I was sure it was Daybreak 2, and while neither is exactly surprising, I was still salty about Ys. Then I was surprised when they actually did announce Ys III! For March of next year, and it's an old PSP game, but I'll still love it.Kikki wrote: ↑Jul 01, 2024 6:35 am Well, this will surprise NO ONE, but it did come sooner than expected. I keep hoping they'll announce a remake of Ys V soon. It's the only one that hasn't been "rereleased" (really a new game with the old number). I've also got my fingers crossed for the PSP I-II compilation too.
Also notable: the next Japanese Rail Sim game will be released in English (https://www.sonicpowered.co.jp/train/ex/nsw-hakone/). Their previous game, Journey to Kyoto, is also available in the English Switch eShop.
And Natsu-Mon: 20th Century Summer Vacation is getting released in English as well (https://youtu.be/nnPRIEbXqWE). This developer is known for the Summer Vacation games, and also did Attack of the Friday Monsters and a Crayon Shin-chan one that got released in English last year.

Humble Games (the game publishing arm of Humble, the game store + Humble Bundle people) is shutting down. :/ I have no idea how this impacts games like Coral Island that are past early access but are still receiving content updates (that should only depend on if they were getting further funding from Humble to keep working on updates), but it should have no impact on published games that are NOT receiving updates (like Unpacking, I know multiple people on FOGU played that).
The sticking point is for games that Humble was working with that have NOT released. They still have a chance, as publishing rights have been passed to another company, but I guarantee this will complicate things. Mineko's Night Market is one of those... For now I suppose this will be a "wait and see" kind of thing.

Xseed will no longer be handling Story of Seasons or Rune Factory.
If they ever actually were. It's not clear to me how the division of labour was handled, since Xseed and Marvelous USA were one and the same until now...but from now on, they'll be splitting into separate entities.
They say they want to move forward with “larger, more ambitious scope of development and budgets,” the western expansion of its arcade business, and the upcoming milestone anniversaries of the Story of Seasons and Rune Factory series.
But organizational shifts from Marv have only made SoS and Rune Factory pale shadows of their former selves, so...I'm not that hopeful. I do hope that this really will improve the games, but given recent history...

^Wow…
The Level-5 Vision 2024 was supposed to take place in April, but it got delayed to “summer 2024.” There’s been no news whatsoever since it got delayed, and we’re halfway through summer…perhaps we’ll get news in September.

So much this. I miss the days when SoS and RF announcements brought excitement instead of trepidation.Kikki wrote: ↑Aug 15, 2024 4:19 am Xseed will no longer be handling Story of Seasons or Rune Factory.

I don't know, guys. See, Xseed WAS Marvelous USA. (Or were they always just a little sub-group within Marvelous USA?)
Now Xseed is just Xseed and Marvelous USA is somebody else. But WHO, exactly? Did Marv JP create a whole NEW group to be Marv USA? Or did Xseed just split into parts? Maybe hire on some new people to fill out the ranks?
It could be that some of the same people are still localizing SoS/RF now as before. Or maybe now we have an entirely new localization team. I really don't know. But in theory, you should still be able to expect the same things you did when it was 'Xseed' doing the localization. Even when it was their name on the label, it wasn't the entirety of Xseed that worked on localizing SoS, it was just a little sub-group. I think headed by John Wheeler, if I remember correctly.
Well, now Xseed doesn't do Trails, Ys, OR Bokumono. I have 0 reason left to be interested in them, sadly. Sure, they're doing the Ys remaster, but I only care about the NEW Ys games, not ports and remasters of the old ones, so there's no reason left for me to follow Xseed. They do pick up cute projects, like Potionomics and Moonlight Peaks and so on, but that's a very casual interest, for me, nothing I'd go out of my way to follow.
I really don't know what kind of impact this is going to have, if any.

I noticed the other day that the XSeed Games website linked to Marvelous USA for some reason and wasn't sure why that was. I guess the articles and discussion here explains it.
I agree with FarmingForDaysMan, I've been waiting for the Level 5 Vision Conference for 2024 that was delayed until this summer, and there's been no news of it. There's still some time for it apparently because summer ends on September 22nd, 2024, a Sunday.
I thought the idea for this game was unique and the visuals were cute.
