Yeah... Wood has sucked for a while now. Back in the early Switch days, I liked him a lot as he made fun informative videos, -especially the '30 games under $20' videos that helped me find some good hidden gems among all the slop. He always had a « Cow Poopoo » opinion on Xenoblade 2, but I let it go because in the grand scheme of things, he was still enjoyable despite said « Cow Poopoo » opinion. And then he « Snuggly Bunny » up royally and did a video where he modded Breath of the Wild and Nintendo rightfully dropped him as an ambassador. He was all like 'boo hoo, woe is me, I can't believe this happenedddddd!' when it was GLARINGLY OBVIOUS that it was 100% his own fault for being a dumbass. I stopped being a fan and just casually watched his reviews on occasion, but I fully dropped him after the Digimon Survive incident. He bought the game blind, went in with unreal expectations, and then made a whole video on how horrible the game was. As someone who loved Digimon Survive, I saw red (and I wasn't alone, EVERYONE called him out on his « Cow Poopoo »). This dude just does not THINK, he just GOES and doesn't LISTEN. He « Snuggly Bunny » sucks, period.

And Social Experiment, my « Mr.Gourmet's hat ». He's been bleeding engagement for years now and no one but his 'fans' take him seriously any more. He needed a quick boost to his stats, and that's all. He can « Snuggly Bunny » right off.

He made out as though Nintendo dropped him because he talked too much about his depression. And his fans parrot the same story. But when you look at what was happening right before he was dropped...nah. Definitely had nothing to do with him talking about his depression and anxiety issues.

I've also notice that he pretends to be very kind and understanding and makes a show of it, but if anyone calls him out on ANYTHING, they're 'toxic' and he doesn't have to pay attention to anything 'toxic people' say.

Well, like I say. I've noticed over the years that he has some rather shoddy traits, but this whole deliberately faked rumor was just the clincher that made me say...yeah, this guy is no good. Bye forever.

EDIT: Fae Farm is shutting down, if anyone doesn't know. It'll still work as a single player game, but as of September 10, there will be NO online connectivity. That means no multiplayer and no updates.

Personally, I don't care. I never liked Fae Farm and I have never used the multiplayer, either. But I'm sure some people are gonna care a lot.

Ooh, and it's soon, too! I haven't played Hollow Knight but people have been saying 'I hope to see something about Silksong' in news and Directs for years, now, iirc, and post clown-faces at this point when they say it.

But there it is. September 4. No more clowns. :)

Funnily enough, I still have some clown makeup on for the supposed Fire Emblem Genealogy and Final Fantasy IX remakes, but at least Silksong had something for me to clutch onto! Six and a half years of waiting though... it's been a trip. I guess the most begged for game now is going to be... huh, I dunno? GTA6 got delayed but is still coming, and I can't really think of any other game people are clamoring for like a cult. I'm sure once it's time for Pokémon Gen 5 remakes to come around, it'll be that.

Well, Honkai Nexus Anima is looking pretty good.

Checked the official website for characters and 'Cassio Rollex' is very obviously a Gallagher expy from Honkai Star Rail (which is fine by me - I love that character) - and then they literally just have Blade there too, no design change, just Blade as himself in another game. Honestly really funny seeing as he's an immortal edgelord who's only purpose in life is to figure out how to die... and now he's in a candy coated Pokemon clone. Poor dude lmao.

Oh look, another Hoyo game. They are cooking in every genre now, it seems.

This has the potential to make so much money, tapping into the Animal Crossing crowd.

Isn't Hoyo just RPG and now life-sim? I can only think of Genshin, that Honky one, and now this. The first two are RPGs, as far as I know (Genshin originally being a big rip of BotW, though I don't know how it evolved since the beginning...I only played it for the first month.)

I hate live service games, though. I like the IDEA, but...eventually they all go offline, and my game is gone forever. I can continue playing Tales of Xillia on my PS3 until the PS3 explodes (it is still fine, somehow) but these games have a shorter lifespan. I hate the idea of getting invested and then...poof.

In some shots it looks really cute. In others it looks gangly and ugly. Not sure what I think of it. It'd need to do more than copy AC to be good. I've yet to see a close AC copy that actually lived up to AC. It's like DQ Builders. That game is fantastic because, yeah...it copied Minecraft. But it was also Dragon Quest...a full-blown RPG, with the nicer graphics (not pixelated and grainy gritty awful, like Minecraft is). So this has to be MORE than AC. Somehow all Animal Crossing copies have to be, to have a chance of being as good.

Hoyo has a lot of games now. Genshin is an open world RPG, Honkai Impact 3rd and Zenless Zone Zero are mission/action based, Honkai Star Rail is turn based, and they also have an otome game called Tears of Themis. Now they're working on Honkai Nexus Anima (Pokemon clone with auto chess battles), and Petit Planet (Animal Crossing clone). In terms of live service games, they're the cream of the crop with not too much out there to dethrone them. And honestly, Nintendo needs some competition to kick them in the « Mr.Gourmet's hat » sometimes, so I'm fine with clones and 'rip-offs' as long as they're not infringing on anything actually bad.

Anyways, funnily enough, Petit Planet actually leaked last year. I remember seeing character models and artwork circulating. I was wondering if they'd given up or went all in on their other games for the time being, so I'm glad to see it again. I'm not sure how hard I'll go in on this one, but I'll at least try it. And honestly, if they get it on Switch 2 alongside the other console releases, it'll be liquid gold until Nintendo gets off their « Mr.Gourmet's shoes » and makes another Animal Crossing game.

New Pokemon Z-A video. This one seems meatier than previous trailers. I don't remember when this game is coming out so I'm not sure if a dedicated thread is going to be put up soon or not, so I'll stick it here:

OMG

HOW DID I MISS THIS?! HOW? HOW? HOW?

Seriously, how did this hitting the internet not set all my sensors off?

Tales of Xillia is getting a remaster, for release on October 31.

I don't think I could possibly see news of a Xillia port (and an upscaling/remaster!) and not say anything, lol, but it's okay! I just don't follow gaming news any more. I mostly stopped when I deleted my Twitter account (pretty soon after whatshisface took it over and turned it into "X", like the nub he is.) Once in a while I check Gematsu, but I tend to forget about it.

I'm happy, anyway. And so SOON. I gotta tell my li'l bro-in-law. Xillia has his all-time favourite combat system. (Mine, too.)

I don't think I'll get it on release day, though. BIG expenses, this month. Multiple. I've played it multiple times before...I can wait a month or three, or maybe even for a sale, since Tales games all eventually get big sales.

Um...what? Seriously? Just baaaaarely got home from work and was going to chill to a video I was watching last night, when I saw THIS show up in my recommended videos.

I guess low expectations breed positive reactions. I was expecting absolutely nothing for ACNH on Switch 2.

Though this makes me worry that they're doing this because they have no intention of making a new game any time soon and want to shut us up for several more years. Which would suck, because this update won't really get me interested again. It won't make the game fresh. Nice QoL stuff like bulk crafting, though. Very happy to be able to store trees, shrubs and flowers, now.

The one thing that might pull me back is...is this kind of like you can now have three islands? I don't understand how that dream island thing works.

The dream islands is basically a creative mode. You can do whatever you want without messing up your main island. Now, I’m VERY happy about this because you can build with friends and as a content creator I can see so many collabs.
