Oh hey, good catch!keenocuous wrote:Had a busy week, but I just wanted to log back in to say that they just posted another video today about the game! Some stuff we’ve already seen, but there’s new things in it. Like, for instance, the four mystery love interests people were wondering about.

Spoiler:
Ooh new trailer! Shows a lot of new stuff. The person at the 2:20 mark looks interesting. Too bad it seems he isn’t one of the bachelor candidates
Anyway game looks good! Still not crazy about some stuff but I’m excited now. The framerate also looks somewhat better in this trailer especially the sprinkler scene though I still see some lag here and there.

Was not expecting them to reveal all the characters that quickly. The boy in the cap's name is Ralph and the diner blondie is Blair. Ralph might just be my new favorite. I love his simple design.
We also get a better look at the town round 2:04
Apart from all that, I really hope they speed up the farming animations like tilling, watering, and harvesting. They look way to unnecessarily slow.

I'm gonna watch it a few more times, but the new video is mainly reinforcing the opinion I already had, based on the reveal video we got on October 28th, rather than giving me new insights. I did see another farm path option, though...non-slip metal flooring (aka diamond plate.) That's an interesting one. You could potentially go really industrial on your farm this time. I wouldn't want to, but it's a cool option. I wonder if you can't set anything on top of the path/flooring. I'm thinking you can't. Too bad, I'd like to be able to.

Are you not able to view it? Well, in summary, I'd say there's not that much that's new, mostly reinforcement of what we've already seen. We now have had a look at all 10 candidates, a bit more of the town, a few more NPCs, and saw a chicken coop be patched up, and a bridge, and a new look at a path option (diamond plate, very industrial). We've also got proof that this game will be expecting us to have/use a lot of makers. I saw wild raspberries get harvested; saw trees in fruit, too, including 'grape trees' (I wish they'd let us properly grow them in a vine form, though.) And a lot of chopping trees with lumber popping out. I don't know why they want to keep showing the MC chopping trees, but they do, lol. Maybe they just love that animation.
I'm not sure what it was, but I think we may have gotten a look at a cooking interface/menu. We also saw some kind of puppy race, with little dogs with curled-up tails racing each other, and that trap fishing has returned. And we saw what is probably the grandpappy of all the earth sprites, interacting with the MC. The MC was riding a horse through the forest at one point; looks like we can use them for speedier travel again.
Nothing was stand-out surprising, to me. It more felt like confirmation of various returning features, and a quick look at all the candidates.

So far, my biggest gripe with this game is the town. It looked nice, but very empty and almost abandoned. I’m assuming it’s because we didn’t see a lot of characters walking around, but it just looks very meh. I’m sure when we see more I’ll come to like it better, all in all I’m not that picky if the game has other features that I like. Every time I come across the example for character customization on the website I get excited. I just like being able to customize things! I’d be more excited for the farm customization if the designs they made for the trailers actually looked good to me.
As for the makers, I hope they revamped how they work or made it easier. Something about them in the previous games just made them more tedious than I think they were meant to be. Maybe it was just because of the way I played the game or the fact that I can very distracted and forget that they exist.
