Maybe they can be DLC candidates. It's not out of the question as Woofio and Stephanie in Trio of Towns were added as candidates. I wouldn't be against DLC candidates down the road.

I would be all for adding some of these or other "regular" villagers as secret or DLC candidates, even paid DLC. I thought the additional Trio content was worth it personally. There really seems to be more of a variety in the characters not listed as candidates. More options are not a bad thing. #teamJacob

Aww, the kids grown up are cute. I saw them over on the Harvest Moon wiki, but I think they're up on the official site or elsewhere.

If I had to choose two villagers to be DLC candidates, I would choose Beth and Lache. Gene, Sydney, Marcos, and Daisuki I could also see as DLC candidates, but Lache and Beth are my top picks.

According to a screenshot in Xseed's latest tweet, it looks like you can have any type of heterochromia you want. Looks like you can choose the colour of each eye separately.

^ that is soo cool if that’s the case!!
I love heterochromia so I’ll probably spend the first hour just trying to decide what colors to choose from  (assuming you can choose from the start of the game)

Yeah, it LOOKS like that's the case, but the screenshot just shows you choosing a colour for the right eye, and then the option they've chosen for the left eye is 'match right eye'. I'm not sure why they'd put it that way, though. I mean, if you want both of your eyes to match, why can't you just choose 'brown' for one eye and then 'brown' for the other one, as well?

I didn't notice that Xseed had put up a second tweet about house expansions. Or maybe they hadn't when I first put the other link up, dunno. Anyway, it shows more than just the first tent-to-house upgrade. I think all of this is what was added in the JP site update, but the words on it are in English, now:

A clip of clothes being purchased. (Looks like you have to have the materials to make them and then you can order them to be made.) The outfits the feMC wears at the end are really cute...I particularly like the Russian papakha/kubanka looking fur hat and double breasted fuzzy coat thing. (I'm having trouble seeing right now so please pardon me if that's not quite what she's actually wearing. I checked twice and I think it is, though. Fur-lined or fur-trimmed or...something very warm-looking and stylish, anyway.)

*eye twitch*

Again with this bull? Really? I realize I'm probably in the minority, but I absolutely hate having new outfits to further customize your customizable character locked behind materials that are usually fully dependent on how many material shedding animals are on your farm + having them win contests to get the exclusive 'better' versions of already existing materials. Games that do this make me so freaking irritated. What if I'd rather focus mainly on fishing and only have a handful of animals and crops? Or what if I want to be purely veggie farming? You give me the freedom to do so, but at the cost of punishing me out of new outfits. A New Beginning, Story of Seasons, and Trio of Towns all did this and I'm SICK OF IT. Give us the option to just BUY what we want or make it a rotating stock. Literally every game with customization does this now.

I pray there's a material vendor in the game, because I'm done with this noise after the previous entries.

I knew a segment of people would definitely be very unhappy about the 'materials' thing. I hated it in ANB...I was in Year 5 and still had hardly any of the clothing. I didn't really like it in SoS, either...having to spend days just to make your clothes, and farming and gathering up all the materials prior to that. In Trio it didn't feel quite as burdensome to me as the two games before it. Not sure how the balance will tilt in Olive Town. The materials look pretty simple, but they only showed really basic outfits being made, so...it might end up being a complicated process, again.

Hopefully they'll give us the option of buying materials. I really think they should always do things like that. Get the hint, devs...we all love different things about the game and you should let us play the way we want to. Don't make a life sim and then try to force us to play it a specific way! There should be freedom to play your own way.

I mean, the materials can be expensive, if they don't want to make it too easy, for some reason. But being able to make money in multiple ways means that needing money to buy the stuff you want doesn't force you to play the game in a way you don't want to. I hate animal care in the Bokumono games and prefer to minimize it as much as I can, never having more than one of each type of animal, so getting a lot of animal products was a big burden for me...I'd much rather be able to buy them. I'll grow flax for linen, no problem...I like growing crops and raising their quality! But I do NOT want to have to keep 4 types of sheep/alpaca in different states of quality to be able to get all the materials I need.

I hated how the clothes system worked in ANB too, it was almost like they should’ve just never gave us the option to customize our clothes. It was so late game when you’d get enough materials for things that most people already stopped playing by then. Still, it probably set the standards for future games, as each one got easier since. I hope it’ll be easier still. : I

And usually I don’t mind taking care of animals, but I also didn’t like the new sfx for milking the cows and stuff. It was just really grating to me, almost like nails on a chalkboard. I can’t remember if shearing sheep and stuff had the same sound but if it does then.... uh, yikes.

Kind of makes me wonder if we'll get new game + similar to Trio of Towns where we can transfer over our money and clothes. I wouldn't mind that, but I do agree; ANB had ridiculous requirements for clothes, but I think SoS and 3oT lightened the requirements up a bit.
