I just had a thought: If I remember correctly, isn't it implied in SoS that Marian's and Giorgio's significant others live outside of Oak Tree? I wonder if they will be Olive Town residents or tie in some way in that regard.

That'd be nice. It would make them feel like they really belonged there.

Yup. I remember that too. I do wonder if this was the case.

Heh, that would actually be super neat.
I'm more on the side of not appreciating returning marriage candidates, just because as others have pointed out, it messes with your head-canon of previous games if you married them there. But they're optional, so I guess it's not the worst thing, either.

Honestly i will never understand why ppl don’t appreciate what sos is giving us, more bachelors/ bachelorettes to marry from previous games and they aren’t even forcing you to get them its by dlc, i mean im just happy a new sos game is coming and having previous characters coming back is exciting for me, like i get it different opinions from different people however this game is shaping up to look great, just because they are bringing back old character and ppl are already complaining, guess we cant really please everyone but i am happy with the game so far and excited to play !

I think it's normal to complain when a series you love is providing things you can't be happy about, whatever your reasons are for that. Gratitude is not a thing we owe a company who simply wants our money...it's not like they're doing this to be nice to us, nor are they doing it for free. We don't have to be happy just to have things offered to us for sale. If someone does feel happy or even grateful about it, that's nice, but that's just because things worked out the way they like, which yeah...lucky. Good for everyone who's had good luck getting what they like, that's a happy thing. But not everyone is in that situation.
If people were hoping for something else and had their hopes disappointed, that's an uncomfortable feeling and I can only see it as natural to want to talk about it. If you're not the type to voice your complaints to the company, then at least being able to express your feelings to the fandom to not feel alone in your disappointment seems very natural, to me.
Of course people can take it too far and get too angry and maybe get excessively bitter or salty and try to ruin the fun of others, which wouldn't be cool. And sometimes some complaints are flat out wrong, because they're based on incorrect information or assumptions. But in general, I see nothing wrong with people having criticisms or complaints about whatever a company is trying to sell us, if it doesn't fit our needs.

Kiki said it best: this game is a product and the creators are a business, not a charity. This is a product people are paying for. Besides, people aren't complaining so much as they're having a preference, and no one is being rude about sharing their preferences. Not to be rude, but this is a forum, not a fan club; the point of a forum is to openly discuss things about a certain topic--both the good and the "bad."
Besides, video game developers both like and
expect feedback, Xseed keeps an eye on the western audiences preferences and gives feedback to marvelous on our behalf. That being said, I assure you no one on dev or at xseed is broken hearted about what's being said here, if that's what you're worrying about... well, y'know, assuming people stay civil.
Sometimes I wonder if we should create two separate threads, one for positive feedback and one for negative. Might be considered redundant, though.

Yay! I was just asking for more stuff to speed up animal care versus the many things that speed up crop care

Hey, a video on festivals! Or that's what I assume this is, anyway. I think I'm seeing some kind of Easter festival with decorated eggs, but then it switches to...are those mushrooms? Or am I not seeing them right and they're actually more eggs? For some reason the video is a mite fuzzy on my screen but that big red one at least really looks like a mushroom. I'm not aware of any mushroom-gathering festivities, though.
And then what I think is a lantern festival, which I've never seen before (though it could have been in one of the older games.)

OMG, I love the egg festival! I love little race-against-villager mini-games like that. Also, something about the lantern festival gave me hard Animal Parade vibes, the new year's eve festival, I think? Or maybe it was fireworks? Either way, very nostalgic.

So, I know this is a bit of a sensitive topic here, but do you guys think that marvelous is taking a few steps in Stardew's direction in making their game? It would be ridiculous to say that they're copying them, but I'm seeing a few things here and there that I feel are more reminiscent of SDV than SoS, and I mean that in the best way possible. Or do you think they're implementing things that they've wanted to for a while, but couldn't because of the constraints of handheld systems? I feel like a bit both are true at the same time.

I didn't notice about the automatic feeder option either! I don't know if I will use the feeder or sprinklers unless I start to get to big of a farm to handle by hand, but it's good to have the option. Has there been any mention on having the different feeds and treats for animals again?
It's really handy in Stardew to have the auto-feeder and sprinklers, which this one is evidently doing too. I specifically remember HM3 and HMSNES having a sprinkler you can get, but there's only one in the game, and it's pricey. I don't remember if the previous games have ever had an auto-feeder though. I wonder if these convenience items will be purchased or craft able? I don't know if they are outright copying but certainly picking up on trending preferences maybe.

I very much believe that Marv is taking...not inspiration, exactly, which would imply that Stardew came up with it first when it is the other way around. But I believe they are making note of the craze surrounding Stardew and attempting to cash in on anything they think works for them, as well, being in the same genre. I don't think that both Olive Town and One World bringing sprinklers back into the equation this time is a coincidence.
I still can't believe I missed that mention of an automatic feeder for the animals. I think it was Mikodesu and I who were just a few days ago talking about more convenient options for streamlining animal care the way they streamline crop care. As a dedicated crop farmer, I really wanted that, so it's really cool! I wonder if it's a late-game unlock.
I never had them in Stardew though. I did play Stardew to story completion but I never got into any late-game stuff, so I didn't get much in the way of more advanced options.

Yes! Stardew Valley had both an auto feeder and grabber (for animals products) that is perfect for me. I'm so glad it's going to be in this game, because I'm definitely waaaaayyy more into crops than I am animals. With animals I usually get to a point where I have to just sell them because taking care of them is such a pain. Also, I like the idea of building my farm up to full automation so I can actually get around to befriending the villagers, who often take a back seat to me taking care of my farm.

Innocent Life had auto-feeders! They were on by default though and there was no option to feed the animals yourself, which I didn’t like.
I’m glad that auto-feeders will be an option for the people who wanted something like that! Though in the past, I found feeding animals to be one of the least tedious parts of animal care because I could give them up to a week’s worth of food at once, so I wonder if they’re going back to daily feeding only… that seems like it would be a bit of a step back.
