^ I forgot about innocence life. Only played it once so that might be why but I thought this game would be the first to implement auto-feeders lol.
It’s cool it’ll be in this game! I personally like the crops and the animal aspect of the games but it does come to a point where it’s tedious to take care of it all and be expected to socialize too.

If given the option, I might have some animals auto-fed, not all of them and same for the sprinkles. Have it water some of the crops but not all of them. Knowing me, I’ll get really bored easily if socializing is the ONLY thing I do in game
I’ll have to try to find a good balance.

That said, does anyone know yet just how big the farm is? I know you can clear out more space but I’d think there’d be a limit. (Would be kinda funny and cool though if you can cultivate areas in town too)

This is gonna sound like a longshot prediction, but I noticed Lars (tall blond guy) and Beth (ginger girl) are talking at the lantern festival. What are we betting that they're not marriage candidates cuz they're gonna be dating or otherwise in love with each other?

(I'd be a little disappointed but that's not the devs fault, I just really like Lars and wish I could marry him, haha)

I think, since they are taking inspiration from Stardew, we'd unlock feeders and sprinklers as our levels for specific tools goes up or if we do a certain amount of tasks. But that's just me speculating.

What I'd really like to know is when Nintendo will put the game up on their eShop. The game has a release date, price, and expansion pass along with the bundle and we know Europe and Australia eShops have it up already (and with a cute fox preorder bonus from Europe too)

Oh yeah I figured (and hope for) as such but even with my tools fully upgraded, there’s been a few times where I just go crazy with planting, for example, and I still can’t water everything within the day. It’s been a while since I’ve had that problem but if our farmland is huge, I might just plant so much that my maxed watering can alone can’t keep up  When I unlock the sprinklers, I want them to help but not completely take over the watering for me (if that makes sense lol)
It’s just how I play.

Yeah, there are probably more character dynamics we haven't been made aware of yet, at least I'm hoping that's why there's a portion of very interesting villagers who aren't available. Didn't we just find out the "hot lawyer" was actually Laura's mom and she was married to the shopkeeper with the comb-over? (At least I only recently did.) Who knows. My man Jacob may actually be Marian's boyfriend for all I know. I kind of think Karina and Jean might be an item from the wording of their intros, but they could just be BFFs (especially to the Japanese audience).

greensara wrote:It's really handy in Stardew to have the auto-feeder and sprinklers, which this one is evidently doing too. I specifically remember HM3 and HMSNES having a sprinkler you can get, but there's only one in the game, and it's pricey. I don't remember if the previous games have ever had an auto-feeder though. I wonder if these convenience items will be purchased or craft able? I don't know if they are outright copying but certainly picking up on trending preferences maybe.
Stardew is a paean to Harvest Moon. As Greensara notes, Stardew's sprinkler is kind of the evolution of the sprinklers available in the first-gen console and handheld games. And the sprinkler and auto-feeder can also be thought of as a different take on the Harvest Sprites being able to run the farm and barn in Friends of Mineral Town. And the auto-grabber ... well ... A Wonderful Life had the automatic milker, which, of course, drew the ire of many. So all this has been done before. Call it a sprinkler, an automatic milker or whatever ... they're all just options to reduce work for those who wish to do so. I don't think Stardew broke ground by introducing a sprinkler, nor do I think POOT is borrowing from Stardew, at least from what I've seen.

I already mentioned this somewhere on the previous page, but I may have worded it awkwardly, I'm crazy tired today, so...I also think they can't be said to be copying Stardew, because Bokumono came up with those ideas first. But I do think they brought those features back this time because of Stardew. Anything they used previously that Stardew also used and was popular, it makes sense for them to try those features again.

So I do think they are being influenced by the existence of Stardew...I doubt that both Olive Town and One World would suddenly have brought sprinklers back after so long being gone if not for Stardew. A farming game can't sell 10 million copies without raising some thoughtful eyebrows. If they can catch some of that craze, of course I think they'd want to try.

Stupid question but what’s a auto-feeder?

Not sure about the Stardew version, but generally something you add to a barn or coop to automatically move food from the silo to the feeding bins. It generally wouldn't work well without a major redesign in a 3DS-style BokuMono game due to the specialized feed/treats systems in place, but in a game where there's only one type of feed for all animals it is pretty awesome. In some games this function is even built in, like in Picontier.

Didn't one of the 3DS BokuMono games actually have an autofeeding tool for pets in the house? A New Beginning, maybe? The "Pet Food Dispenser"?

Not sure about ANB, but I know SoS had one. It was dependent on the food you kept in your storage. (Can't remember if you needed to feed your house pet or not...it may have just been for show.)

If there's something else that an auto-feeder is building into I like the idea of starting out with it, but otherwise I prefer the idea of having to do the work myself until I can afford the upgrade. It feels more satisfying that way. (I guess as long as it doesn't take too long...)

Oh yeah, it'd definitely be innacurate to say that SoS is copying stardew in any strong capacity (if at all), but they're definitely taking the strong, positive reaction people had to the game into consideration, which is awesome. I think this game could easily go down as one of the strongest in the series just from what we've seen so far.

This video is about transportation options. It was posted three hours ago, and I'm confused, since I remember that we already had a transportation option video, but some of this definitely looks new to me...I don't remember seeing them ride through town, before...I thought it was over a more empty field in winter. Well, I'll post it anyway!

Good to know I wasn't the only one confused... maybe it was a trailer that had previous transportation footage?

Either way, as much as I wanna be the crazy wolf lady, I do like how buttery smooth the scooter/bike drives.

Found it. I posted a transportation option video on page 37, but the difference appears to be that the first one was by Xseed, and today's is from Bokumono PR. They show the same options, but the first video is less attractive due to showing the farmer riding around mostly dormant winter fields, while this new one shows you riding through a summer (probably) orchard and through town. I knew I wouldn't have forgotten that paw-shaped window!
