Funny situation with the re-record, I don't mind though.
I have no idea how it ended up that way (because guaranteed the different models are slapped onto the same code) but the wolf looks to have the smoothest movement to me. They're all a bit jank but the gait of the wolf covers up a lot when the player turns.
Even with a megalodon-wolf I don't know how I feel about using a wolf for transport, though.

I hope there's a teleport stone, because all three of those transportation options feel very slow to me

The newer games normally doesn’t have a teleport stone?

The remake of Friends of Mineral Town did reintroduce it to the series, so maybe there's some luck that it's back.

Teleportation stone is always a nice option to have, but I like the aesthetic of riding around on my wolf

Hopefully those who want it, get it.
The Japanese release is getting closer, I'm so excited, and so happy that the NA release is so close behind it, otherwise, I might have spoiled myself on the heart events :'D
Anyone planning on spoiling themselves on anything besides gameplay mechanics, or do you guys have the patience to wait a month?

There was only one hm game I ever used the Teleportation stone. I usually forgot about it in the rest of the games lol.
It’s be nice for those who want it but unless it takes all day to get from point A to point B, I’ll probably not use it if it’s provided.
As for patients, I have it but I also like to know ahead of time XD
I won’t look for info too much but I definitely will check here for any news once it’s out in jp.

I won't be looking up information from the Japanese players in advance. In fact, for Trio, I left Fogu entirely for more than half a year, once Japanese release hit, until the North American release finally came, because I really don't want to see any heart events in advance...it'd take the freshness out of the game before I even got it, like starting on a second play instead of a first. :/
EDIT: Something to do with the koropons and the secret places that finding them unlocks, I believe...

Giant crabs, riding wolves and unicorns ... Marvelous, you are losing me with every step you take. I know I'm kinda sounding like Cranky Kong in Donkey Kong Country, but today's kids ...

The wolf and the unicorn bother me because you use them like it's normal, in front of everybody, and to me that's weird in a very glaring way. The giant lava crab, however, doesn't bother me any more than HG or the Witch Princess, because it's in a magically hidden area revealed to you by little magical egg-shaped creatures that presumably only you can see due to your special bond with nature or whatever it is...same reason you can see and converse with Dessie and Witchie and Inari in Trio, which never bothered me. Basically you yourself have a touch of the magical about you, which I assume is why you are such a wonderful farmer who can make orange trees not only survive, but even produce fruit in snowy winter (in SoS1, anyway!)
The wolf and the unicorn wouldn't bother me either, if they fit into that same sort of idea...but people can SEE YOU RIDING THEM. (That or they can't see it and you appear to be riding on air! But wouldn't that be even more bizarre?) It's when they blend the magical and the mundane without any explanation that I can't get comfortable with it. Maybe they'll have an explanation once we actually get into the game, but for now some of these things just look really strange to me, since this isn't Rune Factory, where people are known to have turned into cursed magical creatures, and half the villagers are some magical race like elves, dwarves, kitsune, weres, etc.
Maybe you won't be able to ride the wolf or unicorn in town. Though that'd make them notably less useful...

It's possible with the wolf/unicorn that there's some sort of 'cloaking magic' involved where the townsfolk wouldn't know what you're riding. (Unicorn could look like a horse, wolf could look like the motorbike?)
I kinda wonder if there's something up with the levels of fantasy content in this game?? They've dabbled here and there, but...beanstalks is something else.
That's sort of the odd "line" for me between this and Trio. As odd as Trio's concept was, once you understood it seemed to make sense. (As a 'fantasy world' with 'fantasy rules', that is.) PoOT doesn't feel like it has that solid of a vision. There's too many bits and pieces from different mythologies that don't really seem to coalesce into anything that makes sense to me.
At this point I guess...here's hoping it does. I still like fantasy and weird stuff a great deal, just...it has to be thoughtful. For now I'm gonna withhold judgment. (Or do my best to.)

Wolf and unicorn must be normal in Olive town. That’s my logic and I’m sticking to it. Otherwise I’d have to use my adult brain and me don’t wanna

I'm thinking the same thing about the unicorn being cloaked with magic or something; as for the wolf, I don't think having a wolf is too far off from suspended belief, since people have been known to have wolf pets irl, but the riding part would certainly raise eyebrows. Definitely get why people are a bit put off by the more magical elements, though. Sure, the games have had gods, harvest sprites, bigfoot/yeti (Mukumuku), a mermaid... okay, well now I'm actually talking myself out of my own point, but they've kept it contained per game, so I'm interested in seeing how they handle it this time around, as in: are they going to acknowledge it, or play it off as normal for the world's residents in this specific installment?
Anyway, as for my earlier question of spoilers, the only thing I want to spoil for myself are some mechanics and early gameplay tips. I just started playing anb and I'm kicking myself for not collecting more stuff earlier, because now my gameplay timeline is falling behind. I'll want to have something that could be considered a head-start.

How could you not love Mukumuku? He just wanted to be friends. I got a kick when my in-game son asked if Mukumuku was going to come to the farm. Seriously, I doubt there could ever be a cast as eccentric as the one in A Wonderful Life, but there was something oddly lovable about that crew. And for my money, Celia is the best Harvest Moon wife ever. I would run through a barn door for her. I have been fighting myself not to replay that game lately. I just don't have the time to devote to replaying games when the backlog of unplayed ones is so deep.
