Well, I don't understand that, because Nintendo themselves say otherwise...that no prepaid codes use O, I or Z, or symbols like commas and hyphens, as linked. *shrug* (I know why they do it. To prevent mixups between 0, 1 and 2 versus O, I and Z, which I get with O and 0 in particular, though personally I don't think that a Z looks all that much like a 2.)

EDIT: Oh, you know what, I get it. If you're able to enter an O elsewhere, like on your laptop or tablet or something, their system is probably programmed to automatically translate it into a 0. I don't know this for sure, but it's the only answer I can come up with when they outright say that their codes never contain those three letters and yet they sometimes appear to.

Hello! While school is in session—I take online college courses from home—I haven’t had too much time to play any games, but I have definitely taken advantage of my month-long Christmas break! Currently I’ve been playing some good ol’ Harvest Moon DS. I made a new file and am currently working on raising everybody’s friendship levels and all of the bachelorette’s friendship and affection levels. Celia has always been my favorite bachelorette, so I’ll probably end up marrying her again.

Two days ago, I played Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. Oh, and before I started playing Harvest Moon DS again, I FINALLY (just about) completed Harvest Moon Hometown Story. It was a great game, but my goodness, I’ll never play it again unless I want to finish completing the wishes that I have yet to complete (I’ve already completed four wishes). It took me literally seven years to complete the main story line and complete my first feather :’)

My brother’s old Switch is currently being repaired, but my Christmas present from him this year was his old Switch along with a new set of controllers along with ACNH and Mario Kart, so I’m looking forward to playing those whenever he gets his Switch back.

Other than that, I’ve been playing ACNL, Tomodachi Life, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future, and Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright. I haven’t played Stardew Valley in a good while due to aggravation over waiting for well now over a year for the 1.5 mobile update, but maybe I’ll pick it back up soon. If I had the time and money, I would rebuy Harvest Moon: Animal Parade and Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility. I miss the old days when farming was serious fun!

Welcome to the thread, fishie! Congrats on getting yourself a Switch. :) You've got some good games to look forward to.

Been a couple of days since I've posted. Been sick the whole weekend, which is unusual for me, but I guess better than through the week. That's the hope, anyway.

I last tried playing Talos Principle uh...4 ish days ago, and all the puzzles I ended up getting help with I was right at the end of the puzzle and ended up spoiling myself and making myself feel bad, so, now I've just been puttering in Genshin when I'm up to it.

The quality of life improvements this update are great. We the gamepad players finally got the one button press party member swap that PC players got an update or two ago and it's great.

I'm also kind of in love with the whole Enkanomiya area. Dragonspine and Enkanomiya are probably my two favorites, though as neat as Dragonspine is, the sheer cold bit wore out its welcome a long while ago. Enkanomiya is just gorgeous. And I really love the idea of using easy puzzles to funnel players toward the main quest. The whole game has taught us to seek out the shiny, so using the shiny to send us in the right direction WITHOUT a map marker is just great. Kinda wonder how many people even noticed.

New event is kicking my « Mr.Gourmet's hat », though. Oh well, I suppose. Hoping to get time to try Xiao/Ganyu. :| Guess we'll find out in two days...

I'm stuck between wanting to focus on Ender Lilies or Yokai Watch 3. They both have my attention and dedication, but I'm not sure which one to pick. Pokémon Legends: Arceus is just around the corner at this point, so maybe I shouldn't focus so hard on another creature collector... yet. If it ends up just being OK, then Yokai Watch 3 would be a great pick up afterwards. I don't have any more releases until March, so I DO have time, I just don't want too much genre overlap I guess (not to mention I have Ultra Moon waiting for me as well).

----

I fell asleep crafting in FFXIV last night lol. I have one combat role quest left (Magic DPS - Black Mage) and two crafter/gatherer roles quests to go (Carpenter and Botanist). I finished a quest in carpenter, managed to even craft to the quality I needed to as I was dozing, but as soon as the next quest marker popped, I was OUT. I eventually managed to scrape myself off the couch and stumble to bed, but I think I'll get on today and try to finish where I left off. Might even just finish the carpenter quest line as leveling is laughably easy once you've got some gil in your pocket (I've been making some very good sales lately :3c). Leveling Black Mage though? Ugh, I hate leveling combat classes. I'm in no rush but they take foreverrrrr once you've exhausted everything but roulettes and Bozja. I refuse to go back to Bozja and I'm so picky with roulettes. I do have two areas I still need to finish shared FATEs in, but those have died down a lot and it's hard to find a party.

Ah well, I muss and fuss but I'll get it done eventually.

I don't know if it will mean much, Bluie, but I'll give you a nudge towards Ender Lilies, as someone who loved that game.

After all the discussion about it on that other post, I've ended up re-playing Dragon Quest XI. I keep being reminded how much I really do love this game. And also surprised at how much text in arc 1 sneakily references stuff for arc 3. It just goes completely over your head the first time around.

Oh, a fishie! We don't get many fishies in the Backlog thread. :) Welcome, FarmingForDaysMan. (I will call you Days unless you object.) A winter break spent farming is never a waste of time, imo...digital farming is a mentally-fortifying recreation in winter. Well, in my experience, anyway. Though this year we're getting shockingly little snow. We still only have 6 inches on the ground! And this is a region where we average 7 feet of snowfall per winter. It freaks me out a little. We're obviously in an unusual drought. I hope it resolves by spring.

I am getting a bit more in the mood for digital farming myself. I'm still replaying AA4, but that can fit in around the edges whenever I want to cuddle with a comfy handheld. I think it's time to get back to that MTaP-finally-got-the-huge-update-on-console replay (I believe I'd like to go for Mint, this time) or to finally commit to Slime Rancher: Plortable Edition. If I go for Slime Rancher and actually play to whatever end it has (though I think it's probably open-ended), it'd be my first completion (of a new game) in 2022. I'm more interested in replays for the next month or two.

I'm keeping a list of all the games I'm interested in, that I'm passing by in favour of continuing to replay older stuff, and I also reviewed my list of ten years' worth of abandoned games, and there were about half a dozen that deserve another peek, including Stella Glow and A Link Between Worlds. I've already decided to bypass Astroneer and Arceus and Edge of Eternity, but I'll look into them later, after they've been out for a month or so, to get the best picture of if they'll suit me or not. (Astroneer has been out for a while but it's getting a big update, iirc.)

Made a list of all the games I already own that would count as first-time completions for 2022 if I got down to finishing them. Including some old abandoned ones, there's 13! I could finish a respectable number of games in 2022 without ever buying even one, though the reason most of these (other than purchases from Fall 2021 or later) are not already finished is because I wasn't sufficiently interested in them, so...
Spoiler:
Torchlight III
Moon Hunters
Slime Rancher
Staxel
Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin
Spirtfarer (gd-it, why do so many games have to begin with s? I have to copy an uppercase letter over my lowercase s to be able to paste that in!)
Garden Paws
Harvest Moon: One World
Journey to the Savage Planet
Horizon Zero Dawn

Older games (abandoned in previous years):
Stella Glow
Link Between Worlds
Monster Hunter Stories

Apparently I am not over my present Staxel kick yet, lol. I started yet another file in creative mode from the start and got a little tutorial about many of the features I was confused about and thought were like a duplicate glitch. Nope, it's a feature not to consume certain items. You can fly too, lol! On a related note I tried contacting the Staxel folks on Twitter about one of my issues, and they actually replied asking about what version and platform I was playing on. Haven't got another reply after I answered, but that's very encouraging. :)

Edit: Got a reply saying it may be one of the issues they are working on in an upcoming patch, but weren't sure when it will be up. Yes! So nice!

Thank you very much! My existence as a fishie was very short-lived :> you can call me Madison, if you would like to. I haven’t seen any snow at all yet, unfortunately.

Hm, so after some thought, I’ve made a mental list of games that I would like to play:
HM POoT
The Switch remake of FoMT
HM One World
Katrielle and the Millionaire’s Conspiracy
Little Dragon’s Cafe
Cooking Mama: Cookstar
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (both games, that is)

My list is currently composed of only Switch games, but that is all that I could think of for right now xD
:lala: Currently Playing :lala:

Welcome to full membership then, Former Fishie FarmingForDaysMan Madison :) If you need recommendations, we can give you loads, lol...even just within the farming and farming-adjacent genres. When I say loads, I mean it. There are some awesome sims on switch!

Ah, if any of you who have no icons (or signature banners) want some, or aren't sure how to get them or put them up, just let me know. I can both make icons and tell you how to add them to your profile, either one, if you're stumped :) I see Yzafre has one now, though!

I nearly started slime Rancher up this evening but then my mom started pelting me with emails about groceries and covid and my urge went away again. Looks like I may end up at home tomorrow when I hadn't bargained on it, though. Germs are apparently flinging themselves around like maniacs in my county, now!

So I soft-locked myself out of daily events in Shining Pearl by time traveling. I'm still frustrated by this. I'm trying to finish the National Dex and the only Pokemon I have left are just a standard check-in and see if any Pokemon I'm missing are available that day. I'm missing about 35 now and they all involve either the Trophy Garden, the Great Marsh, Swarms, or Honey Trees. At least this means I can move on to another game since this is just a waiting game now.

I should try and finish up Moonglow Bay and Imposter Factory before Legends Arceus takes up all of my free time. Having a retail job means that I don't work as often, so I've got a bunch of free time.

Edit: Or Steam and/or my computer decided to just delete my save data for Moonglow Bay. I was about halfway done with it and while I like the fishing mechanic, I didn't particularly like the story or characters involved. It's uninstalled for now. Maybe I'll go back to it once the game is updated a bit more.

Hi, been a while since I posted here in the thread but I hope everyone is enjoying their gaming. Currently, I’m playing Brilliant Diamond and I just started up Final Fantasy 7 today (the first time I’ve played it so I’m quite excited). My goal this year is to play more RPGs because I’ve been kind of dragging my feet on starting them and there’s a lot on my list. I also have some pick-up-and-play games on the go for when I’m not feeling up to a bunch of story, though, mainly a few puzzle games that I can play whenever. Anyways yeah that’s my tentative plan, let’s see if I actually stick to it.
My video game piano arrangements (including Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, Rune Factory, and Stardew Valley!) :lala:

I've been stuck at home with COVID since last Wednesday (Omicron is currently tearing through my workplace, really fun stuff) which has given me a lot of free time to sit around playing video games since I can't really do anything else. I'd love to say I've spent that time getting through some of the games I've been wanting to play, but I've mostly just been playing FFXIV and watching trashy TV lol.

I did finish up Spider-Man: Miles Morales, though! It was a fun little game. Web slinging still feels as satisfying as ever. I might play Deathloop next, but I don't know. Nothing is really calling to me right now. I feel like I'm just twiddling my thumbs until Elden Ring comes out.
