Were you hoping to use the castle stuff in your island? Because I can mail them to you later if you want.

My second switch’s online service has ran out so I’m going to hold off completely resetting my main island until I get 20 bucks because I like mailing myself. This gives me a excuse to complete my other player houses because that’s the only thing left to finish. That, as well as transferring items to my other switch.

On that note: whoever is on my Oak Tree friend list once Storybrooke is created I may have to friend you again. Though that won’t be for a while.

Thanks, Shan :) I don't know yet if I want to use the castle pieces for sure or not; I'd have to actually try it before I'd know if I like the effect. I already have a castle wall and a castle tower, so I just have to get the poki for a castle gate and then I can buy them with Bells through the Nookling catalog.

You don't have both your switches on a family membership? It'd be a lot cheaper if you bundled in with your sister and possibly other relatives or friends. I have both of mine, my sisters and my cousin and bro-in-law all on my family membership.

~

Well, am playing nirvanA Initiative, and while I think the STORY is going to be very interesting, rather than toning the moronic pervert jokes DOWN in this sequel, they've actually ramped them up. They're no longer focusing on porn-mag-induced superpowers, but every single character interaction I've had so far has been punctuated by a minimum of two perv jokes. It's exhaustingly juvenile and I'm getting fed up QUICK. I may have to break this game down into much shorter play sessions than I was anticipating, because I don't have the tolerance needed for this much talk about boobs and butts and various orifices. The game is rated M, but feels like it was designed to illicit thrilled giggling from 12-year-olds. (I know 12-year-olds who'd be too mature for this nonsense, honestly. Once in a while is fine, but it was almost excessive in the first game, and the frequency is just over the line for me in this sequel. Seriously: GROW UP, devs!)

I'm afraid it'll overshadow and thus ruin what's probably going to be a really interesting story. I am seriously repulsed by the scene I'm on right now. It has sensitive music going on and you're trying to talk to a little boy about something very serious (this is a murder case, after all) and Aiba starts going on about how you have to break open the chastity belt on his heart if you want to see his uvula. (This is just the most recent example, and the least overt, so far.)

Not making that up. If you look at him again, Aiba repeats that it's no use to try talking yet, you have to break open that chastity belt. And this is constant, and thrown in no matter how inappropriate it seems to the setting/situation. I really liked the first game but I am now regretting giving this developer my money. :( If it were possible to get a refund, I think I would. (Though yeah, I still suspect the story itself will be excellent.) I just don't see how this is considered funny. There is no wit to it at all... it's too juvenile to be funny.

I use gift cards to pay my online services and they’re 6 months apart anyhow, my sis hardly uses her switch anymore but yeah, I probably should look into the family plan for myself.

It’s what…$35 for the basic plan, that’s 5 bucks I’d be saving. Though, $40 a year split in half every 6 months isn’t bad 😝

Started A Short Hike last night. Sort of surreal for me. I watched the dev's GDC talk years ago now... at least pre-pandemic. I REALLY wish you could change the protagonist's name (me problem) but, it doesn't come up enough to be an issue, just an annoyance. Aside from that, just as advertised. A very nice escape from reality. I think I remember the dev saying the game is like...5 ish hours? Maybe shorter if you rush, so if I have time to go back to it tonight, I might beat it.

I'm in a fairly foul mood tonight, so a lighthearted romp would be nice. :)

I've got too many weekend chores as is, but I think I'll spend a little time picking whatever I want to play next. Something else short and easy, I think, until I finish my Professor Layton game. Played that at a bad time the night before last, I think. I enjoyed most of the puzzles, but I got to a 'give me an exact number' puzzle and just...checked out and looked up the answer. And then decided it was time to go to bed. Ah, well. I wouldn't even call it my loss at this point. Wish I'd stopped caring about this level of 'cheating' a long time ago...

Ugh, that's so disappointing. I'm waiting a minute to play this to avoid burnout, and I was really hoping the story would be good again (I'm relieved it is!), but the perv jokes were the absolute worst part of the first game. They are the only thing I would have removed completely and not regretted (wasn't the biggest fan of Iris or any of her stories, but that was more of a me thing, removing the perv jokes benefits everyone XD). I'm not a fan of perv jokes in general, but I think they rubbed me especially wrong in the first game since, as you said Kikki, they were a really terrible tone mismatch. I can't believe that was popular/"funny" enough to ramp up for the sequel. I'll probably still play, but it's a bummer to know I've got that coming.

---

I had a bad week health-wise, and wound up having to switch doctors today. :( Getting old is terrible. Not a ton of gaming as a result, but I'm hoping to rest and make up for it this weekend, and next weekend is a 3-day weekend, so even more rest, hooray! I'm so glad I started Pokemon SP, it's the only thing I've had the energy for this week. I'm still in Eterna Forest, but I've mostly been grinding and discarding mons so far. I'm feeling really uninspired about my endgame party, but I just remembered I could snag Drifloon today... I haven't liked it in the past, but this one was a terror to catch, so maybe it's a winner!

I'm playing an interesting assortment of games right now. Yesterday, I bought Fire Emblem Three Hopes and have been enjoying it a lot so far. Three Houses was one of my favourite games and I adored most of the characters, so seeing them again in a different setting is amazing. Had a hard time deciding on a route, but I decided to go with Claude's first cause I have been playing Shez as a bit of a show-off merc and thought them both being sort of similar personality-wise fits the narrative I wanted. In the original game, Verdant Wind also felt like the most neutral (though chaotic) option for me, while the other houses are sort of "strong moral choices".

I am also playing Atelier Ayesha DX. I owned the dusk trilogy for a year now, but never really got the proper motivation to start it. Liking it so far, especially cause it's really cute. I don't know if playing without a guide is a good idea, but I feel like reading what I should do is gonna destroy the experience I'll have while playing. As my first Atelier game, I don't really invest much time in learning the alchemy system so far - I've never really been much of a gameplay person, I usually enjoy story and characters more. I'm aware Atelier is not a story-heavy series, really, compared to other rpgs, but I wanted to try it anyway. :)

I ended up with covid. A little hard to game when you can't get comfortable and feel like garbage. I did manage to play a little of Three Hopes, but it was short lived as I ended up crawling into bed before long.

I keep flip-flopping on feeling 'ok but still sick' and 'I think I'm dying'.

Bluie must be in the actually-too-sick-to-post condition. I know she's not into Atelier on the level she once was, but a newbie going into the series would normally hear something from Bluie about it! It's a shame you get time off for being ill and are actually so ill you can't enjoy it. And right when Three Hopes released, too! Mean timing.

I hope those of your family that are starting to mend are returning the favour now and looking after you, Bluie.

I stopped playing nivanA Initiative last night when I posted about it, so no further progress. Really hope they at least stop making these stupid perv jokes in serious moments. Stick to making them only when joking around with characters who are friends or family, NOT when questioning murder suspects or children, thank you, game. I don't enjoy them regardless of when they show up, but they bother me a lot less when they don't feel so inappropriately placed. Well, I will finish the game, I'm pretty sure. And I've read that the writer of t his game and the last one (also the writer of the Zero Escape series, I believe?) really likes perv jokes. Plus Japanese humour and 'western' humour are drastically different. I've seen YouTube videos on how what passes as funny in each place tends to confound people from the other place, like...we don't agree on what is 'funny' at all. Though the perv stuff doesn't really even fit into that, as from what I can tell, the big divide is that Japanese humour is heavily slapstick, whereas snark, sarcasm and dryness are almost entirely 'Western'.

Anyway, in general, just really disappointed by how juvenile it makes the game feel. Makes me think of Bart Simpson trying to be clever or funny by shouting out 'Booger!' or 'Doody!' and making fart noises with his hands. It's an adult issue handled in a very childish way. Gonna have to try to find a way to gloss over noticing these things to get into the story. It's difficult when they're so frequent, but hopefully I can. I'll probably try playing some more of it today, though my enthusiasm is definitely teetering on the edge of a cliff.

I have a headache today to go with the other stuff, yay. (I'm very wimpy to headaches since I normally don't get them.) My eyes are gritty, too. Gotta love punctuation!

EDIT: Hadn't gone on to ACNH yet when I posted. Thanks for the castle gate and tower, Shan! I'll have to try putting them all up somewhere and see hwo they can be arranged and if I want to build a 'ruins' area somewhere. I wonder if that would fit with any of my villagers...

Yeah, it's got a lot of customizations! I'm not sure yet. I think I'll either use it for Reneigh's house/yard in the dark version, or maybe I'll use it on the museum. I think it'd make an awesome cliff bridge, too, with the red brick version...I'm thinking about it. I need to take them into my game and place them against cliffs and see how they can be joined up or used in conjunction with the pillar item (I already have it) and the simple panels and tree/shrub items.

Reneigh has TONS of space, so her place'd be the easiest one to add castle elements to, though...I'm thinking the most awesome possible use would be a land bridge that runs behind her place, from town hall all the way across and up to where I have my lighthouse area.

I have a feeling this is going to result in some MAJOR construction, but honestly, only a third of my map is done when it comes to terraforming. The rest is all still in a fairly natural state, which I like, but needs more spice. I need to see how far past the wall you need to be to have full view of the ground and things beyond it and stuff like that. So I've gotta take all my pieces out and start placing them and walk around them to see how connections and distance and stuff works with them before I can decide what to do. I've definitely got an interesting idea forming, but I sure do wish we could have bridges over gaps in cliffs (air) in addition to having them over rivers (water). I also wish the mushroom items in the game, the Mario ones, could be climbed on.

Time to get ready to go to my mom's house. Dinner every Saturday, and I think Cousin wants to play Splatoon. (I anticipate some head-lurching!) Haven't gotten back to nirvanA Initiative yet. I'm afraid the constant perv jokes have definitely turned my interest into the 'off' position.

The walls do connect. The tower adds something too I think. My DA is updated, if you want you can check out Elise’s yard (The player not the AC villager) to see how I did it. DA-2340-8054-5677

Yeah, the castle pieces all connect, but not in all ways...I see a lot of pictures of the castle gate placed in front of the walls rather than actually joining to them, plus I was actually talking about how well they'd pair up with the pillar item and the jail bars and panels and other things I mentioned. Some items go together really well and others leave very awkward space gaps and I haven't tried anything with the castle pieces yet except with stuff in the same series. (They don't line up on the very corners...all pieces must connect close to the middle, or there's a gap, so...you have to fiddle around sometimes depending on how you want to shape things.) There's also the medieval side thing that goes with that set, but never looks completely RIGHT with them. Not sure if I want to involve that piece or not, yet. Gotta try some stuff out and see how it looks in-game. :)

Thanks for the DA, I'll have a look next time I'm on. Will be messing around with placement to see what looks good to me, but right now my main hope is to make a really big land bridge running behind Reneigh's. I may or may not include more pieces to give her an enclosed yard.

@bluie

I hope you feel better on the sooner side rather than later. At least so you have something you can do while you're sick rather than just have to be bored and feel awful.

So I'm pretty firmly into the end of cold steel 2 but I'm not playing it (or anything atm) because it's too hot. I'm worried about my Playstation overheating it's so hot and I don't feel like I can muster up the strength to even go turn anything on right now. I had one more crash in the game too else I probably would have beaten it honestly. When it's cooler maybe. In the middle of the night or in a couple of days maybe. After that I have to wait for my orders on the crossbell games to come in, before I can finally get the rest of the games in the series. I could buy them, not now but soon, but there's no point spending my limited budget when I wouldn't even get to play them for so long.

I did get .hack infection really cheap and I played a bit of it so far, but I'm going to go ahead and finish xenosaga first before I really get into it. Since I'm almost at the end and I want to finish it and now I'll have the time, once it gets a little cooler. Also been meaning to play the three hopes demo. I've been meaning to since I downloaded it but just haven't had a chance yet.

Playing on my 3DS is weird I’m not going to lie. I restarted my Trio file because I haven’t touched it for so long and I absolutely remember nothing XD

I almost forgot how long the open scene is 😂
