Definitely wouldn't mind having all the Final Fantasy games on one console again, relatively speaking of course. I'm okay with owning 1, 4, 5, and 6 on Switch along with 7, 8, and 9 that I already have on there.
I'm having gaming block; I'm having a hard time picking up Life is Strange 2. I've only been able to put in one hour out of the 10 that is there. Maybe I'm just all visual novel-ed out and want to play an RPG; all I've done is play Life is Strange and have gone through the first game, Before the Storm, and Captain Spirit in about 4 days.

There's so much FF on Switch it's insane. If we did get the pixel remasters then the only (released) mainline we'd be missing is 11, 13, and 14. With XI I don't see it ever happening because it's an old MMO that had it's remake quietly canceled last year and XIV is another never happening because it's too demanding and I don't think SE wants to try and make it work. XIII though (and it's sequels) seems like they'll be getting remasters down the line somewhere. It's weird that it's not been updated yet while I-X, XII, and XV are all current and remade/remastered. The MMOs I understand, but XIII feels like it's stuck in some kinda weird limbo.

Played Voice of Cards for around 4 hours yesterday. It definitely feels same but different. The first game felt very 'first DnD campaign' whimsical while this one feels like the story is much deeper and you can actually see the Yoko Taro influence pretty quickly. I'm warming to the new Game Master, he's very peppy compared to the previous laid back snark in the first. I'll probably play more on Sunday, maybe Saturday night.

I want to make up a story about my gaming. I'd need to, for this post to be interesting. I want to pretend I'm playing a new open world AAA exploration game with high production values and fabulous optimization that runs gloriously on my console.
That, however, is not what is going on. I'm still playing Animal Crossing, new island, mainly just for the comforting sameness of being in that sunny little digital world. I can't wait for the snow to melt in there, tbh. I'd love for it to be spring irl...I think it'd do grandma a lot of good to go out for walks with me. I think it'd do ME a lot of good to go out for walks! Without risk of death, that is. The big thaw yesterday and the day before has turned the world into a bit of a rink.
Anyway, I'm at a boring part of the game, where you have to wait for your first three villagers to move in. Elmer moved in today, and I think it'll be Nana tomorrow. (If not her, then it'll be Cheri.) I'll have to wait for those two to arrive, and then I think the game will move on to the next 'story' segment and I'll be able to start checking my rating and placing bridges and stuff on...Monday, I guess? Guess all I have to do then is plunk down 5 more plots and place a bunch of fence and furniture and a few more trees, flowers and shrubs, and I'll get my terraforming ability. I have already decided on the first change in the land, so I'm eager for it. I'm glad moving houses is cheaper, now! It's never possible to put houses or shops in their final place from the beginning, not for me.
Nothing from the DLC has happened yet, except I got a Paradise Planning photo on my very first day. And I think one of the items from the last update was in my shop today, too, but that's not part of the DLC, just the final big free update. Harv's island isn't yet open for the co-op to be built, just for Phototopia or whatever he calls it. Not any different than the first time I played, then. I've got an eye out for the first sign of DLC integration or when the big changes from the last update take effect.

I feel that if FFXIII ever gets released on the Switch, it's gonna be a cloud game. I'm not a fan of the FF games after 9 (except for 11 and 14), so I'm okay with having the ones I listed on the Switch, but as for everyone else, I hope you get the FF games you're missing. I do want the FF7 collection on Switch; would love to play Crisis Core.
I somehow found the energy to play through LiS2 last night and will probably continue it for the next few days. I'm hoping I can beat it before I leave on my vacation to Virginia; I haven't seen my family or friends there in 3 years, so that'll be fun.

My switch lite may have drifting issues for a bit now and I was going to look pass it but…it’s really bad In RF4. I had this thing where a character is facing north it’ll move on it’s own. It wasn’t too bad in AC and other games but it’s really bad in RF4.
I startedRF4 again and my forgetful brain forgotten how to play for a short moment XD

Oh no! I don't know how you would go about dealing with drift in a Switch Lite, since you can't swap joy cons or send them in. Would you have to send in the system? That stinks. Hope you can get it fixed.
I did my obligatory 3 online battles in Shield to be eligible for the shiny Galarian Articuno, and actually won the fourth one by the skin of my Appletun's teeth! In Arceus I'm still working on getting the completed entries, not perfect, to get the shiny charm.
Otherwise I have been messing around with my 3ds again, trying to narrow down my wishlist, and thinking about adding some old DS stuff to the backlog again too. I started Sunshine Islands and am about halfway through Spring. It seems to be going way faster than my failed attempt to get into A New Beginning. We'll see if I get a handle on its quirky systems or not. I wonder if there is a particular order for raising the islands that works better? I just raised Link Island but can't do anything with it, so I wonder if that was a mistake to do first. I should probably check out the old forum threads to see.

I’m going to try implying rubbing alcohol with a Q-tip later.
Edit from what I remember there’s no specific order you’d need to follow. As long as you have the sunstones. And it’d depends on what you’d like to unlock first.

SI is still one of my all-time favorites! I don't recall there being a super-strict order to raising the islands, either. IIRC, you can come at them based on what you like doing.

I've been grinding away on D3 and (still) Cupid Parasite all week. I just started the secret route in Cupid Parasite, I'll probably finish it tomorrow. Some spoiler-y thoughts for that game:
D3 is... D3. I am addicted to the progress I keep making, and somehow, I haven't failed to have something interesting drop everytime I've played. It's also the right length to play in the evenings, and I've been supremely unmotivated lately and it's very familiar and easy. Still planning to switch to BDSP when I'm done, but... I'm not done yet. ^_^;
I had to leave work early today (blah... I think it had to do with the recovery I'm going through after my surgery), but it gave me a little extra time in the evening, so I played a bit of Portia today. Did around 4-5 days, but didn't make much progress. I went from triggering WAAAY too many quests to almost none. I thought I'd finished the bridge, but no, I just got the bridge head/body assignments, so I should have that finished in a couple days. I tried finishing the fourth level of Hazardous Ruins (I don't like combat!), but that didn't trigger anything either. I've mostly been trying to stockpile ore from the mines. I also did some of the Portia Times quests.

Welp, my mom misplaced(?) lost(?) the rubbing alcohol (is that a thing?) so I can’t try it until it’s found. Honestly besides that drift my system still works so I’m not going to worry about it.
RF4 side of things I’ve beaten the first boss and unlocked Amber. I’m not ready to take on the next challenge I know that much lol

I'm hooooooooooooooooome! For two days. But that's good enough! I'll be able to come home every sunday all through this, and in Feb and maybe March I can also be home on Monday, so two days together, at least for a while, to huddle blissfully in the quiet. I do get along well with my grandmother, but once in a while she's mean and unreasonable in such a way as cannot be avoided, no matter how mild-mannered your approach. It gets stressy, then, since it is not possible to reason with dementia. I find it sad that sometimes the only solution that won't get her all enraged and confused and freaked out is to just
lie. Unable to believe reality, a lie is the only thing she'll accept, sometimes. Lies make me uncomfortable even when they're necessary.
But anyway! Home for now...came back with sis after dinner. Three nights of sleep in my own bed, whee!
I may play DQXI again tomorrow, finally...get that final dungeon of Act II over with. Or perhaps I'll play Portia; it was a lot of fun. But only ACNH feels like I can just walk way from it ten times an hour, or for hours at once, then just walk back and pick the controller back up without even bothering to shut it down, so it's been the only thing I've been comfortable playing while at my parents' house.
Nana moved in today...which means it'll be Cheri tomorrow, which should be the trigger to upgrade resident services. After placing the campground? I can't remember if that takes a day, or if it's instant, so I don't know when I'll be able to order more bridges, but I really want to put at least one more down, asap. I'll put up a good one rather than a cheapie, cuz this is almost definitely going to survive my terraforming...I'm putting it as close as possible to the river inlet on the east. I'll try to get 3-stars as fast as I can, cuz I really want to get going on that cliff walkway and the lead-in from the airport to town hall.
It's funny how even a few days away from home can make home feel different than you remember. I'm really looking forward to a shower in my own bathroom, tomorrow! And a walk, however long I want to wander. And cooking in my own kitchen, just whatever I WANT to cook, cuz it's what I want to eat!
Next day EDIT: I wonder if coming home on sundays is just making it harder to adjust at my parents' place. Well, whatever. Anyway...Tom announced that the tent would be closed for renovations tomorrow...guess I'll be able to place that second bridge on Tuesday, then. I'd like to TT past this little hump but I find TTing a pain, and stressy to boot, since so frequently something seems to go wrong, so...not worth it.

Hey, guys. I finished the tulip in Art Academy: Lessons for Everyone. I think the introductory/starter lesson (the cherry) came out better than the tulip I did. The second lesson (starter lesson -> lesson 1 -> lesson 2) is a tree.
I continued where I left off in The Expression Amrilato. I'm 3.7 (or so) hours in. I didn't get to continue with the story, I just did the studying parts and saved. But, I'm excited for the story to continue, too.

The main character learned the alphabet, numbers, and greetings/useful expressions.
Also, yesterday I started 2 puzzle games on the Switch. I started Hatsune Miku Connecting Puzzle Tamagotori and Puzzle & Dragons Nintendo Switch Edition.
The Hatsune Miku game is pretty fun, and starts getting challenging early on if you want to beat every level perfectly (get all 3 stars).
I'm enjoying Puzzle and Dragons Nintendo Switch edition as well. I did the tutorial, and then jumped straight into PvP (Player versus player) and leveled my original team up to the 40s level range.

So, now in the Quest mode I'm easily dominating the first few levels/dungeon/stages.
I think I'll get Puzzle and Dragons Gold (on the Switch) and Puzzle and Dragons Z + Puzzle and Dragons: Super Mario Edition on the 3DS.

I haven't been able to play much of anything due to the bad mix of work and insomnia. However, last night my Father in law needed some help in FFXIV. For as much as I adore this game, it can be very overwhelming in certain battles and dungeons. Which is why it's super cool they're slowly but surely turning the game into a solo experience. By the release of the next expansion, 90% of the game will able to be soloed (the remaining 10% being the trials and raids, the former they're working on and the latter being optional content anyways). But as of right now, my FiL can't handle late Stormblood on his own and he's got four level 90 players in his house, so we are at his call lol. It was the last dungeon and trial of base Stormblood and while we blazed through the dungeon, my SiL, BiL, and FiL all died to an instant death mechanic on the Trial, so my husband and I got to be showoffs and kill the boss just the two of us looool. I'm surprised we managed to do it, but Reaper+Dancer is a very deadly combo. After that, we were released and I found out that I'm an idiot and could've been working towards something I really want all this time when I thought I couldn't. I want one of the Endwalker dungeon minions which aren't tradeable, so you NEED to get them yourself AND they're very low drop. I thought you couldn't get them via Scenario Trusts (locked NPC dungeon companions for story) because you couldn't in Shadowbringers, you NEEDED to level your Trusts to take them anywhere, but nope, they changed it and I missed the memo. So I did said dungeon a few times, and while still no minion, I am gathering some nice glams for the future. I will get that minion tho, mark my words!
I plan to go in heavy on Voice of Cards this week, but good lord does Elden Ring look more and more tempting each time I see it. A part of me says I can handle the gameplay, I've played Monster Hunter for around 10 years and it's like putting on new pair of the same shoes with each release. If I can handle G Rank monsters, why not soulslike games? And then I remember I couldn't make it out of the first area of Nioh 2 and didn't have the motivation or time to dedicate to 'git gud'. I just... idk. It's in my wishlist and maybe I'll pick it up after the March game bombardment is over. I have no releases in April (for now) so it might be beneficial to pick it up then after people have been playing for awhile.

@Bluie: I'd say don't give up on Elden Ring yet. Wait for reviews, see what everyone around you says. I'll be playing, Panda Parfait is also playing. And I KNOW you're a more skilled gamer than I am, so if I can handle it, you definitely can.
--
4 days to Elden Ring...dawn of the final week. I dunno if I'll ever get this chance again, to be there when a Fromsoft game drops, no major spoilers. Pretty exciting. Still don't know if the online issue has been resolved yet, though.
Maybe I'll hear in a review. I think the only one I'd be brave enough to even listen to is SkillUp... he's always been very good about warnings for spoilers and telling people to listen to videos instead of watch them. I've already bought the game, which apparently comes with a digital "adventurer's guide" for preordering.

Best bit, I finally got my Pro Controller bluetooth connected again, so I can plonk my « Mr.Gourmet's hat » on the bed and play on the tv! :D
In other videogaming news... Been playing Genshin in the morning the last few days, and it's actually really nice! I'm naturally a night owl, 2-3 am is regularly my bed time, and I'm up at 8, but in a sort of zombified fog where I watch the news and eat and pretend to work until I'm functional enough to actually work. And instead of that I'm now getting my breakfast and then doing dailies and such in Genshin until I'm awake enough to work. More fun than falling asleep sitting up, and I get that time back later to play a different game or get something done. Feels good man.
I really, really like having Ganyu. Didn't think I would like playing a bow user, and it's still clunky AF for aiming but, once I figured out holding down the left bumper it's really fun, even just juking enemies as her. The only downside is squishiness. But I guess that's a 'get good'.
--
Edit: Oh, yeah! This is a major shot in the dark, but here we go. I did some cleaning last week and dug up the Majora's Mask puzzle I nabbed when Club Nintendo shut down. (The one w/ Fierce Deity on it.) TLDR is I'd like to finish it and frame it. Please don't go out of your way, but if anybody sees this and happens to know the dimensions of the finished puzzle, that would be incredible.

I'm going to make sure I have Majora's Mask on my 3ds (I'm pretty sure I already do, but not positive!) and I'll also check my ancient wishlist on there, too, soon, to be certain I have everything I really wanted to try, long before the due date is up. I don't like to leave things to brew or they just get entirely forgotten. I've tried MM before and really did NOT like it, but I still want to have the option of trying again. Lol?
I tried playing a bit of Portia today but it made me anxious! I felt rushed and harried. I didn't feel that way about it before last week, so I guess that's just my current state of mind. Perhaps that'll clear up once I settle in further and I've managed to incorporate some exercise (or gardening). Haven't figured out how to do that, yet, because I'm already dealing with being barely able to stay awake in the afternoons, and exercise, if not overdone, can shorten the duration of that heavy fatigue period, but it increases the intensity of it. Anyway, still working out the kinks in everything, and it's definitely cramping my gaming style. Variable Barricade should be no problem as it's just reading, but definitely wondering how RF5 will be. I may have to try to force myself to play with a more casual frame of mind. Though I'm not good at that. If my frame of mind is too casual, I simply lose interest entirely.
Perhaps I should start a new farm in Farm Together. Or do my three-billionth playthrough of DQB2. I wish I thought grandma would be engaged by video gaming since I know she gets bored and wants more to do...I'd be happy to play BotW for her or have her play ACNH with it being nice and slow...but she barely understands even television, now. Thinks that what she's watching is happening in real life and gets confused when it's snowy here but summer in the gardening show she watches and that sort of thing.
