Last time I posted I said I hadn't been that productive, but I'm happy to report that the second half of June went a lot better than the first. I finished The Last Campfire shortly after and loved every minute of it - it's been a while since a game tugged at my heartstrings like that. I also managed to finish upgrading all the shops in Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop to Royal status, so that's been crossed off the list as well. But the achievement I'm the most proud of is finally finishing Pokémon Picross, over seven years after starting it. I've finished all the normal puzzles, the Alt-World puzzles (aka mega Picross), and all the in-game missions. That feels good to cross off the list! Now playing 3DS games will be less daunting since I won't feel compelled to log in and do a few puzzles first. :)

Since I had gold points that were going to expire, I also picked up the Switch port of the first Tetris: The Grandmaster arcade game (which cost me a grand total of five cents thanks to the gold points). This game is widely known as one of the more difficult versions of Tetris and as someone who is obsessed with all the different variants of Tetris, I had to pick it up. TGM gives you a grade depending on how high your score is, and I'm getting about halfway through the grades so it's definitely still a challenge for me. Can't wait to try it out multiplayer with my Tetris friends! The second game is also out so I'll probably be getting that in the future as well. Playing that tonight got me in the mood for Tetris so I also pulled out Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 and played a bit online. I'm definitely holding my own a little better than when it came out and I chose to start higher in the rankings (since I'd played the first game) and got absolutely destroyed... my win percentage will never recover though lol.

Now for the mid-year report: last year I started 15 new games in total, and completed 18 games to some extent. This year, at the halfway point, I've managed to already meet the number of new games started (15) and have already finished 16 games! Of course the numbers don't tell the whole story, but since my big goal was to start more games I'm feeling pretty good about my progress so far. And today is the first day of summer vacation (I work in a school) so I'm looking forward to playing even more in the next little bit. I did pick up the AWL remake but will be waiting until the end of July so I can play it with my mom, but in the meantime I'm thinking I may dig into a big RPG or something... oh boy, not decision time again. :shifty:

A bit late to be saying this, but you don't actually have to choose between high defence and high attack. As someone with no grace or skill at all, no button-pressing wizardry...I made sure I had both high defence AND high attack all the time. I absolutely slaughtered my way through the final battle. I mean, I gleefully dominated Ganon at every step. So much that it almost felt like I must be cheating, lol. (I did the entire final battle with the master sword with a lynel mace horn fused to it, which I got quite legally in trade from Koltin and then duplicated the heck out of, lol, so I guess that much is cheating.)
Spoiler:
The final part can't be done REALLY fast, as far as I know, but your friend in battle is so very good about picking you up and dropping you right where you need to go, I found it not too bad, especially since I love the light dragon and was just happy Link could be with her...then it seems you just land on it and whale directly on the object of weakness, or whatever you'd call those bits. Each one only took about three or four hits, I found.
Anyway, I had high attack via weapon + good fuse-able item, and triple food bonus. Then I got maximum defence (minus 6 points) by upgrading all the Zonaite armor to maximum. The Zonaite armor has a defence level of 84, compared to a max of 60 for most other sets. A triple-defence-up bonus adds 50%, so most armor sets the most defence you can ever have is 90. But that's a waste, imo! Better to go with an unboosted defence of 84, and save your food bonus for triple attack up. I was wandering around everywhere with a Link who had a defence of 84 at all times, plus significant battery-life bonus, and weapons with a lynel mace horn attached (or black bokoblin horn or similar if I didn't want to use up a lynel horn, there are some easily-gotten high-attack fuse-ables) and then if a particularly difficult battle was upon me, I'd gobble a triple-attack-up food I'd made during the Blood Moon, and Link was just an untouchable murder machine. It was fantastically fun, lol.
Spoiler:
Ganondorf's HP was shaved away like he was butter and the master sword was lava. I didn't do a single flurry rush in the entire final battle. Never even attempted it. I just ran after him, up close, and whacked him over and over. I let Link go ahead and get hit, stand in gloom, etc, since he was well-protected, and just got promptly back up and started whacking again. Once he'd taken about 9 hearts of damage, I'd eat one of my 3 sundelion + 2 HQ meat/heart foods, also made during a Blood moon, and boom, good as new, and since neither heart-replenishing nor heart-repairing overwrite your attack or defence bonuses (only another bonus overwrites the previous bonus) I could continue on with high defence and high attack.
I actually had great fun with the last battle, lol, it was so satisfying to just smash his face in, even entirely without grace. It was MY win, too. Yes, I'm a complete clod. Yes, no talent whatsoever! But I can still smash Ganondorf like he's a geriatric with osteogenesis imperfecta. I felt very vindicated, lol. I worked hard in an entirely different way than someone with actual skill, but it still worked, and it felt great. IT worked even better than skill, imo...I went through the first two bits so fast it was downright absurd, and I didn't use a glitched weapon to do it. (I never employ active glitches since I'm always afraid they'll crash the system. Inventory glitches only, for me, that don't produce items with 'error' names, like a duplicated master sword does. Too scary!) Though the final battle of someone with skill LOOKS way better than what I did, which had no grace or style at all...my Link was basically just a crazy animal attacking like mad without caring a bit about dodging or defending...I still feel like the sheer speed with which I finished was gleeful good fun. I didn't even have to use many foods. My inventory was still mostly full when I finished.

Plus my Link is basically the epitome of courage. He's courage and courage ONLY. No brains, no skill, always afraid he'll get murdered by enemies who have lots of both, but still going ahead with pure courage to just run straight up to the baddies, take the hits, and whack 'em until they die.

I dunno if this is the new Zelda formula, though. They may mostly be open-world from now on, but I think it'd be weird if all LoZs after this were too much like BotW + TotK. What excuse would they have for ever using shrines again? Or such abandoned or shattered versions of Hyrule? I don't think they can get away with that every time.

Why on earth would anyone be uncomfortable with crying at a wake? Don't they EXPECT some tears at a wake? Very sorry to hear you lost a family friend, in any case, and that I don't remember if you mentioned it before.
K8sMum wrote: Jul 01, 2023 6:11 pmI was very on the fence about Pikmin 4. Then I played the demo and fell in love. I've played the other 3 and like Kikki became stressed with the time elements. I just restarted Pikmin 3 and I still have some trouble with splitting the team, getting lost etc but it's good.

Pikmin 4 has a lot of QoL changes that, for me, are making the game much more enjoyable. The gameplay feels cleaner, if that makes any sense. Visually it is stunning. And it's so damn cute!
DId you play the demo of 3? I haven't tried the demo of 4 yet, but I did play the demo of 3 and it was very fun and not at all stressful and was what got me to buy the game, so I'm wondering if the same would end up being true of 4. 3 got more stressful as you got further in and the tasks got harder and the time limits shorter, but to start it was just plain fun. I'm holding off out of concern that even if the demo of 4 is great, it may turn out the same.

I find all the comments on the time-limits on Pikmin interesting, as that's part of what I enjoy about the games. Based on discussions/comments I remember reading throughout the forum, I would really be interested in seeing a comparison between opinions on Pikmin, and favorite/least-favorite HM/SoS games + what you want out of a farming sim.

The idea of - "can I find the most efficient path and get everything before time runs out" - is part of what I like in both types of games. Thus, why I tend to have the most fondness for games like HM64 or Stardew Valley, which have evaluations at 2 years and change, even if you can continue playing afterwards. Similarly, now that I'm playing SoS:aWL, I'm trying to get all the wonders, fill out the encyclopedia, ect, before reaching "heaven mode". Not that I don't enjoy the other games in the series! I still do my own efficieny pathing, make my own goals (can I complete the story + marriage in 1 year in Tree of Tranquility, for example). I'm just more likely to prefer the titles that cater to that set-up.

Pikmin, those farming sims... I feel like they've got a good set of time/resource managements with low stakes. That is, they safe-guard a bit between you and truly failing (you don't need all parts in Pikmin 1, there's a lot of fruit in Pikmin 3, if you put in any effort at all you're unlikely to get the worst endings in the farming sims, ect), but it takes effort and planning to get the absolute best. That's my ideal, anyways. I'm very aware it's not what everyone wants! I just thinks there's some interesting connections between the two series.

I've played the demo for Pikmin 4 twice, and will probably play it a third time to see if I can get completion up to 100%. Last run was 98% because of that darn blue onion, but I think I know how to get it this time.

I've also reached year 2 in AWL. Saw all 8-heart events, then proposed to Gustafa. I always went with Marlin/Matthew as a kid, but as an adult I just... don't have the patience for his attitude, or his drama with Cecilia. I can deal with my guy being a bit of a hippie if he genuinely seems to want to spend time with me of his own initiative.

Through the power of save scumming, I got 7 2nd gen crops and all the 2nd gen trees planted on the first night of spring y2. I don't have the bigger field yet, as I'm wanting to spend the money on better tools + getting the animals I want right now, so my hybrid growing is limited. With 6 chapters, I think I'm placing my goal for all 2nd gen crops stored at the end of year 3.

Snip #2
What I mean by "choosing" is that those lynel parts are required for upgrading certain armor. So you choose between smacking it on a weapon, or putting it into your armor. And by the game's design, farming for parts for armor requires parts for weapons. In my opinion, it's a bad system. The fact that there are NO permanent options (Master Sword is "semi-permanent" so I don't think it counts), irks me.

(I mean, the fact that you felt you needed, or even WANTED, to use a duplication glitch to get parts speaks to the tedium of Nintendo's system. Tedium that they DEMAND players endure, by removing the glitch. Which irks me even more. WHO exactly, I would like to know, is this harming, in your single player game?)

People like me who are hesitant to try perceived difficult combat encounters try more when they're using resources that respawn. (At least that way you can try and fail without fear of consequences. More like Xenoblade, maybe. My first thought was Souls combat, but Xeno is comparable.)

I had more fun with the spectacle of the final fight than anything. You could tell the point of the whole thing was "coming full circle". I can see it making players new to action games fairly stressed, and I can see it being especially stressful for speedrunners. (Afaik the speedrun (glitchless, I think) is a little over an hour.) But, at least it was a satisfying spectacle.

For this being the new Zelda formula, I guess it'll depend on who has control over that. Aonuma has all but confirmed that it is in interviews since TotK's release, though. That basically these two games have sold well enough that they're satisfied making games in this style from now on.

That could always change in the future, but I think we WILL see the next game being like this.

As to the whole wake situation, I think it was just the people I was around. Almost nobody else cried at ALL. Maybe it was something about them being older, and having seen more death than me. I got through it though. The intent was to go home and play BotW, not that that happened. Ah, well. Life is weird like that, but I think we've all got strong memories attached to certain media.

I just didn't want to fight lynels to get the best bits, lol. You can cheese 'em, but I don't want to waste so many resources (lots of springs, for example) on it. I know I could do the lynel gauntlet, but it'd take a lot of stuff, and I would do it if I decided to max-upgrade several other armor sets, but I really don't need to do that. Just having the Zonaite and a couple other, more specific-situational-bonus sets maxed, is enough. I enjoyed getting through the first two battles within minutes, it was crazy how easy it was...I was all nervously hyped for an ugly battle and probably some retries and he just withered under Link's gaze, lol. You can't really rush the very last bit much but I did find the game dropped me right where I wanted every time so I never had to retry anything, so it was mostly just waiting for the chance to drop down in the right place.

Getting to the final battle took more time than the final battle by a long shot, for me.

~

I'm probably not going to get Pikmin 4. I did download the demo, and I'll probably play it, but...there'd be no point for most people if there was no (or very little) challenge to completing each day/mission. I, however, am not that interested in the Pikmin story, just in collecting the fruit and filling out information. Basically in exploration completion. The rest just gets in the way of that, for me, so I don't think it's really the game for me, and my sister also played it, and she doesn't even care to try the demo of 4, so it's not like I have any incentive to buy it for her. (If she really wanted it, I'd buy it even if I didn't want to play it.) My gaming budget is set to $80 per month...the cost of one AAA game. I can't afford to buy any I don't really want, and after playing 3, I just don't think it hits my sweet spot. I thought it was a very interesting game and I liked collecting fruit a lot but I found anything that interfered with fruit collection (other than terrain problems, which were the interesting part) just stressed me out.

I'm nearly $200 below budget at this point, so I'm doing well, but this autumn is so packed with games I want that I think I NEED to under-purchase to accomodate September onwards. Plus I'm probably going to lower the budget even further next year so I may as well get used to spending as little as I can now to see how far I think I can lower it for next year without making myself miserable. (Gaming is the only thing I spend money on other than groceries and health care items, lol...there's no way I can axe my gaming budget entirely for a year.)

I do still have one voucher, though. I plan to leave it until the end of the year before claiming it, though, to make sure I make the best redemption choice. But that might end up being Pikmin 4. It's not like I hated 3, I just found various points more stressful than fun.

Recently beat:

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy (first trilogy/first 3 games) (Switch)
Digimon Survive (first playthrough) (Switch)
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

Sorry I've been away for so long guys, got distracted, I guess, and was a little busy trying to learn Spanish.

I beat Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy (first 3 games), but I really just had to finish the last game in the trilogy to complete it. I still have to play The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Duology). Still, I'm super excited about the announcement of the Apollo Justice Trilogy (second trilogy) releasing next year (2024).

I also beat Digimon Survive (first playthrough).

I got Winter's Wish Spirits of Edo (back in May). I beat the first two routes there. I still have 4 more routes to beat there. :(

I also finally beat the Bowser's Fury part of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. And, put 20 more hours into the base game (Super Mario 3D World) unaware that the final post-game world
Spoiler:
has unlock conditions
.

I just got Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life last Tuesday/last week. And, I haven't started it yet. I also still have Winter's Wish: Spirits of Edo to complete. And, I literally just bought Pikmin 1 & 2 on my Switch as well.

I really don't know which game to start up next.

I guess my point is... You don't want to fight lynels, but in the game's current state, if you want to keep using lynel parts on your weapons you would HAVE to. There is no work around to continuously trade other things for lynel parts. There is only the game making you fight the monster you don't want to fight, or doing less damage because you refuse to fight the monster. End of story. I don't like these options.

And in my opinion, if so many people are using duplicate glitches, that part of the game isn't as fun as somebody high up on the food chain at Nintendo thinks it is. The problem is that in terms of gameplay, NOBODY tells higher ups at Nintendo what is or is not fun for their customers. You will eat your cake, and you will like it, even if it gives you a stomach ache. Because if Nintendo says it's good, it must be.

And I definitely missed this last night, congrats on finishing Last Campfire, Code Name Geek! :) It's always nice to find a little game like that that stokes your enjoyment of games overall. Indie games are great for that, ime.

I get what you mean, but I think there are more ways around having to fight to get difficult parts than duplication glitches. I suppose you could create contraptions to fight lynels? I don't know, I made as little use of Ultrahand as I could get away with. Or you could use the method with the fused chests that the lynel just roars at endlessly and never attacks you. It's so angry with the chests, lol...it doesn't care about you at all, just those chests! You do have to kill the lynel yourself, but it doesn't fight back, so at least it's easy. I don't know if that would be considered a glitch, as I think it comes of behaviour they deliberately programmed into the lynel, without this particular set-up in mind. As for building something yourself to actively kill the lynel...not sure what a lynel-killing machine would look like...they're so fast and powerful. But probably someone somewhere has managed to make a great lynel-killing Ultrahand contraption somewhere, that I could just copy, if I wanted to try it out.

There are ways to get parts without having to be good at the fighting, at least, though there's no guarantee you'd prefer them to just outright fighting for the bits. (I personally don't think I could come up with a lynel-killing contraption, though I do think I could try the chest thing to just 'cheese' the fight without wasting any resources.) Certainly there's no way to buy these pieces. Not that I know of.

This doesn't speak to what you're saying, but I can still duplicate, though I haven't gone back to the game since I finished it on June 12. I never updated my game beyond 1.1.1. I suppose I'll have to update when/if they release DLC, but at this point, I don't really mind. The game is done and anything else I do is just icing, for me. (Plus I won't bother with DLC if it's just battle challenges or difficulty modes or the likes. I'm only interested in more story or post-story activities like rebuilding, and they're not all that likely to add that.)

It would be nice if Nintendo actually paid attention to what fans like and don't like, though. But I had a friend who did business in Japan once, for a stage program called [REDACTED]. (Sort of like...Japanese Cirque du Soleil, perhaps? Kinda. Sorta. Physical performances, anyway, more than musical.) She said that in Japan, no one ever tells the boss his ideas suck. The American consultants will do it quite freely, but the actual Japanese employees and performers won't, no matter how hideously stupid or inappropriate the idea. (Apparently examples of this actually happened while she was there, and it was the foreign consultants and artisans who had to say 'that's a terrible idea, because, one: it won't work, and two: if you managed to make it work, it would burst into flames.')

Maybe something like that happens at Nintendo, too.

From what I know about Japanese work culture, that makes perfect sense. It's especially sad in artistic fields, since people put so much of themselves into their work. :/ I understand the boss getting the final say, but clearly there's such a thing as too much. It doesn't help AT ALL, but I guess at least we know who to blame...

Building contraptions to fight Lynels works, but it still saps resources that have to be farmed up later. (Imo it's all about how much of your time in game is spent doing repetitive tasks, verses quests or exploration.) The game CAN be beaten without weapons OR armor. Speedrunners do it without armor, and I've seen part of a run that I'm pretty sure was finished using NO weapons (or bows), and no glider. But how much of the player base has the time, interest, or skill for that? I wouldn't wager the percentage to be very high.

If it's a balancing issue (silver enemies are still ridiculously spongy), they could drop multiple horns, more resources to even things out. Other games do this! It ultimately ends up saving you time when you're kitted up enough to take on harder enemies, incentivizing you to do that. I remember BotW having a similar but different balancing problem... this is just a weird way to resolve it. Add more resources, but add more ways resources can be used, thereby making you need more resources, and have less? Game design.

I didn't need to take no damage, most of the harder enemies could three shot me in end game, but even getting to that point took time. And resource grinding. I am looking forward to the actual critiques of TotK, at least. The few who are willing to do the calculations on say, how many arrows it takes to down a Lynel or Gleeok and what that costs in terms of rupees or time vs what you get back.

For people who find it fun to kill the same things over and over again, cool! I don't. I guess the worst bit of THAT is that I do like the look of a lot of the armor sets, I just don't enjoy the process of making them viable. (There are even special attacks you get from certain armor sets when you level it up twice. If you're willing to spend the time. But how many people even are? How many people even KNOW about that?)

For whatever reason I can see the cracks in TotK easier than I can in BotW. BotW was a lot more sparse, but what was there was solid. TotK felt stretched thin in a lot of places. I guess the devs felt this was enough and they could just move on to what needed more time. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's certainly true that it takes up an ABSURD amount of your time to farm up all the resources for armor-upgrades (less so for weapon fusion, since even just black bokoblin horns on the master sword are good enough for the majority of even late game play.) And it's a very tedious way to extend gameplay. (I don't know who specifically we should blame for it, or if it's just a general way of thinking. Let's make it look like this game is packed with content by making it really grindy!) But adding tedium to games is the Nintendo way! Just look at ACNH. I'm still glad that they reduced building-moving costs by 80% to make it much less burdensome to completely reorganize your island. But I was surprised, because it's not like them to be so reasonable, lol.

It'd be very interesting if someone did an article about the numbers. How long the average playthrough takes, and how many of those hours are spent farming for resources versus progressing in the actual content (story/quests/exploration). How many arrows the average playthrough requires, how much zonaite, rupees, etc. I'm pretty sure most people don't have any idea how much they go through...you burn through your stuff as you need it without noting it. But I know I've started certain areas/tasks with over 300 arrows, and somehow ended up with about 30 or so by the time I'm done, and that's in just one play session. Arrows are essential in TotK. Some fights are nearly impossible to win without them (unless perhaps you're a genius with Ultrahand or just super skilled with the combat.)

~

Haven't decided what to play next. I really should get back to No Place Like Home or Trails to Azure, but Azure is too detail-oriented for me right now, in this hard-of-thinking state where I never feel awake. Guess I've no excuse not to go back to NPLH except that I've never gotten that comfortable with my Steam Deck, so every time I put it down for a few weeks, I forget how to use it. It's the obvious thing I should tackle next, though, since I'm already over half done, iirc.

No Place Like Home is on Switch now, btw, and on sale (-15%) until July 11. Haven't gotten it there but it works well with controller on Steamdeck so it's probably pretty smooth on Switch. It has crop and animal rescue + farming, but it's mostly a cleaning/world-refurbishing game.

EDIT: Wth? How did NPLH get deleted from my Steam Deck? I *think* the save data is probably still available via cloud, but I never deleted that game! Did it somehow get de-installed during one of the updates? Oh, but time accounting is better on Deck for sure...it says I've been playing it for...19.2 hours. I miss the data the 3DS gave on your gameplay. And the themes. I miss the themes a lot. I'd also like a screensaver feature for Switch.

I did it, I finished Final Fantasy XVI. What a game. If I didn't need to immediately hand over the PS5 to my husband, I'd probably go for the Platnium. I got misty eyed several times, especially during the ending.

When it's no longer PS5 exclusive, I definitely reccomend any action JRPG lovers to give it a try.

Now I'm on to SoS:AWL. I actually bought another copy for my Switch because I don't want to wait for my husband to relinquish the PS5. I'm basically only going to be doing my dailies in Genshin and then he has dibs on it until he's done with FFXVI. It's all good though, I have a pile of Switch games to play so it not as if I'll starve without it lol.

I had a long weekend that I mostly sank into My Time at Portia (and Indiana Jones... I marathoned those and regretted it). I'm working on the Portia Harbor now. I didn't want to play the Western Plateau dungeon without finishing Ingall's Mine, so I tried to clear another level... I was under-leveled for it and didn't want to grind (like, 38, with the recommendation at 43-45). But the combat is never that hard. I was not doing enough damage, and forgot that you can run out of stamina, so I had to quit with the boss at 7% health. ;_; I wound up just doing the Western Plateau and got a stronger hammer. I don't like it as much as the sword, but it at least does more damage.

I need to focus on marrying someone, but I can never decide in this game. Gust and Ginger have the best perks, and I do like Ginger, but I also love Alice, and started gifting her more regularly. But I saw a Reddit thread where someone asked if anyone had gone for one of the Wa brothers, and now I kind of want to. Either the green one or the youngest.

Played a bit of Ys too, I'm about 10-15 hours in and cleared most of the missions on chapter 4. Enjoying it so far, though because I've been short on time to sit down and play it in big chunks, I'm a little frustrated that there are SO MANY cutscenes. I keep thinking it's just finishing up the intro, but I don't think it's long enough to have a 10-hour intro. I'm into the story so far, but there are slightly too many side characters with introductions and side plots at the moment. I keep hoping that will even out as the jobs at the bar fill up. Otherwise, I am getting used to the controls, and I mostly like this just as well as 8. The 3D exploration is still kind of a dealbreaker, though. My partner is helping.

Just want to make sure that you know about Ginger's special condition. It's a big character spoiler (nothing to do with the story, though) so I don't want to outright reveal it, but it's a huge deal that really upset some people who married her, and it can't be changed and will happen whether you marry her or not, so...

Made it to Fall Year 1 in SoS:AWL. Engaged to Gustafa with 7/8 of his events seen. I wanted to see all of them, but I triggered two of Nami's rival events, so I decided to tie him down lol. I know the rivals cant actually end up together, but I want keen on letting her crush on my man. Hands off miss homewrecker! >:0

I'm enjoying the game so far, though it's sometimes hard to fill a day. You can dig and fish after your farm work is done, but not much else. I've been trying to befriend the whole village for now with fish and flowers to help keep me busy. I imagine once your child is born days will be a bit busier, but I honestly don't know. I didn't play much of the orginal, but I tend to enjoy the series entries that have set goals and endings (Hero of Leaf Valley, my love...), so I'm hoping it has staying power and doesn't end up boring me. There's 6 years to get through iirc. It seems like a lot, but eh, maybe the pace will up once I build my farm more?

Might take little breaks from the game and play Pokemon Scarlet to keep things fresh.

Ghost Trick tiiime. Very, very cute game. I may have just seen a lot of Chapter 1 in all the review/chatter I've seen of the game because I found it to have a slow start? Maybe the puzzles are too simple to start. But I'm really enjoying it!

The writing also takes a bit to gain any character, but it's very very colorful now. (Just finished Chapter 4 tonight, for reference.) I appreciate the ability to restart puzzles part way through, checkpoints help compartmentalize the puzzles, which probably helps simplify things for people on top of not having to remember so much at once.

I love videogames that are passion projects. I think that's probably why first games tend to be so interesting, and so many of them are so incredible. There's so much passion there.

Still playing Star Rail more than Genshin, not sure why. (Beyond the fact that half the game plays itself, so it's like my freebie.) I did look at the character reveals for Fontaine and...I am so far not impressed. Sumeru was kind of the same way though, the VAs brought a lot of character to designs that fell flat for me. The location of Sumeru at least felt fresh. Anime France on the other hand...is very tired.

Hopefully the writing keeps up with Sumeru... that would help. We shall see, I guess.
