Apperently Wheat DOES get destroyed by Summer hurricanes!

I have played this game years ago back on a GBC and I only just noticed while playing on the 3DS version that the information regarding wheat being able to survive the summer hurricanes being incorrect. I just had one pass on Summer 11 Year 2 and despite having a scarecrow set up, there ended up having tiles where it just vanished from where it was planted in both areas where my wheat was planted. Rice was perfectly fine and unaffected.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this before? Also why it seems like every bit of info from various sources on the game says that it should be unaffected by it.

It was that way in the Gameboy game, from my experience. Not sure if it might have been corrected in the 3DS version! It may have also been we was super lucky 20 years ago when playing the game and never experienced storm damage for either crop.

The JP strategy guides I now have for the game mention that wheat and rice don't require watering, but don't say anything about them being impervious to summer hurricanes.
