Best way to catch Ayu in Mystic Valley?

A fishing RPG that's older than Harvest Moon. Current games include River King 1 (GB/3DS VC), River King 2 (GBC/3DS VC), River King Advanced (GBA), A Wonderful Journey (Ps2), and Mystic Valley (DS)

I need an 8 inch one to get pass a kid and a basket of beans. I don't think I have caught one. According to the guide on this site, it is a small fish. Lot of small fish have been attracted to the fly rod though no Ayu. Which is the right bait or lure and rod to get one?

Ayu is a medium shadow. The shadow size, area to catch, and acceptable tackle the fish reacts to are listed on the website. You might try catching it in a different location:
