I did not use any website building programs (goLive, dreamweaver, etc.). I used my favorite text editor and typed everything by hand.
You can find many online sites where you can find free space, but if you plan on heavily customizing your information you'll run into limits. You will have to pay if you expect something more than what a free service supplies.
