His name is
not Doctor...I can't verify this right now because my BTN game is going funky (I've ordered a new one

) but I do believe he introduces himself as "Tim, the Doctor around here."

Aiko if he does that, then I'll believe that Tim is his name. But as long as the only "proof" of it is Ellen's line "Elli makes sandwiches for Tim all the time!", I'm not buying it.
I've played BTN through almost twice (in my second file I was almost married to Ann) and I don't remember the Doctor introducing himself like that. I might whip out my ps1 just to check it out.

Someone mentions it ^__^ Maybe it's the Mayor. It was an introduction.

Please read the thread. The original question had to do with the name you get to call the doctor after you get married to him. And someone speculated, that the Doc reveals his "real" name to you after you marry him.

Yeah, someone mentioned it in one of the other threads, & I wanted to know what it was...so far its a battle between "Doctor" & "Tim." Which is it?

It is "Doctor". Guess his parents were determined about his future career. Imagine your name being "Doctor" when e.g. you're a bartender or a professional dancer
As stated many times already, "Tim" is only derived from a glitchy thing in BTN, where Ellen happened to mention "Tim" before STU got his puppy (named Tim). Unless this magical "Tim" appears somewhere else and I see proof in form of screen captures (or instructions how to see it myself in my BTN or other HM game), then it is not the Doc's name!
