I found away to "Split" topics, how do you do it and what does it mean?

I thought only mods and cher could do it and I thinkit is used when things go way too off topic.

I meant on my forums, but theres no point....I forgot to pay....first it was the front page, now its the forums *runs to pay* when I get it back I was wondering what does it mean?

Usually only mods and/or admins can split a topic. Split topic allows you to turn one topic into two. Let's say you have a topic about Harvest Moon and then all of a sudden people decide to start talking about what state they live in. You can split that topic so you still have one topic which talks about Harvest Moon and another one that talks about which state people live in.

how is the topic then titled? is it(example:

harvest moon:

harvest moon split: <--- in the bf

or

harvest moon
what state?

I have no clue what your talking about....do you mean making two topics at once? or having two different topics in a room at once?

Only MOD's or Admin can split topics.

So, how exactly do you split it?

When you select to split a topic it, there will be a place to add the new topic title and a place to select which forum you want it in. There is a little box that is off to the side of all the posts - you need to check this box for all the posts you want to split. Depending on whether you checked the boxes beside the posts you want in the new topic or whether you checked the boxes beside the posts you want to remain in the old topic then you choose split from selected post or split selected posts.
