Lettuce is probally a joke by a Tokyo Mew Mew fan on the staff. In Tokyo Mew Mew there is a girl named Lettuce whose dna is mixed with that of a finless porpuse and she can turn into a meirmaid and has green hair.

Mew Lettuce. I can't find a picture of her in her mermaid form though.
