Of course, who's gonna care about such a thing? These days, kids get "mature" much faster, psychologically-wise. In our modern day culture, you wouldn't be surprised if you heard an 8-year-old using profanity.

I have very young cousins. like 5 and 8. the 5 year old likes the M rated games and the 8 year old talks rather like an adult. o_o The 13 YO rule is stupid, and very few follow it. (Was this rule in effect in ezboard ushi?)

13 is basically the age of a pre-teen or teen..whichever.

children basically are also not allowed to be exposed to forums because of the community it'll have.

In the United States there is a law called the Children's Online Privacy Act wich requires any collection of data (email addres, etc.) to only be acceptable for those 13 years or older. Since for security reasions you need a valid email address to register for this forum (cuts back on people just registering to cause problems) this forum must follow COPA law.

You must be 13 years or older, or have parental concent, to register for this forum.

It wouldn't matter what country you are from. This forum is based in the US, thus the admin must follow US Laws.

Think about it...If you travel to another country you'd be expected to follow their laws. ^_~
