Isn't it kind of rare that when a couple that young (let's say "Jill" is about 21, and her beloved the same age) gets married, one of them has their own house? Debating "My husband is gonna live at MY HOUSE!!" vs. "The woman moves to MY HOUSE!!!" is kind of pointless, when in reality when a couple gets married, they find their own place to live together. Unless, the other party is doomed for a life of living with his/her in-laws

The word is chauvinistic. And no, it wasn't. It's called tradition. It's called something that has been done for so long that people find it old fashioned. It's called chivalry.

I agree. I'm all up for girl power as much as the next young lady but the whole chivalry and marriage customs are tradition. I know it's different now-a-days but I'm just an old fashioned gal. I like cooking for my b/f and I think it's cute when he opens doors for me. It's not chauvinistic, it's just our culture...I'm sure there were alot of opposing men in the acient matriarchal (sp?) societies as well.

ya, thats how it usually is, but in Mineral Town there is no houses to move into. and it's too small to build more houses.
Yes there is room for a new house! In the empty lot! If and when I get married I want who moves in where to be a joint dissition. Come on ladies. Just cause you belive in 'girl power' doesn't make marriage a dictatorship. (No offince intended to any of you touchy feeling girls. I am a girl too who is just voicing her opianian. If you don't want to hear opinians my advice is to not go on a forum. Agian no hurt feeling ment. ((Man now I feel like the kid in my class who said "I'm going to say this in the least sexist way but there is a reason why there hasn't been a woman president." We all know I kicked his butt at leadership. )))
yeah, i would suck if you had to live with your in-laws your entire life......
