Actually the pirate treasure is in the summer and the fossil is in the fall. I've been fishing nearly every day for over a year now and I haven't caught a bottle yet. So they must either be extremely rare or I'm not fishing at the right time.

Same thing happened to me, maybe its to do with how long you played years-wise? you know like to make marrying mermaid harder? I dunno =\

I usually fish in the afternoon after I get everything done right up until just before midnight. Maybe you can only catch the bottle in the mornings.

I didn't know it was that difficult.

Right when I had absolutely everything prepared, Lettuce was at 65535 Aijou (the second time, the 1st she was only at Yellow heart) and I caught the bottle no problem.

1st game: 2 in the morning 9-11am, 2 in the afternoon around 4pm--maybe it was a glitch?

2nd game: 1 in the afternoon, around 4, 1st real attempt to get it

I didn't know it was so rare...

Maybe it was because I wasn't using the mythril fishing rod (blue one right?) because I always fish with the mystic fishing rod (green one). Does the mythril fishing rod only make the x appear over his head? Maybe I should try using the mystic fishing rod but let it go as soon as the little x appears rather than hold it down until flames shoot off him. I thought the mystic fishing rod could catch anything though.

Was there a certain season you caught those in Lalu or did you catch them in any season? I'd like to give the mermaid a bottle but if they're that rare I'll probably ship the first one I get and hope I get another one.

I tried using the mystic one, and never got anything. So I put it away and only used the mythril, then I got it right away...could just be a coincidence.

How did you get a mystic and a mythril rod? When I upgraded my fishing pole to mystic level it used my mythril rod not my blessed one.

oh no, I meant I was using the blessed rod durnit.

I had the blessed rod and the mythril. I used the mythril.

Oh no! I hope you don't need the mythril fishing rod to catch them because I don't know if there is any way to down-grade tools. I'll just start trying to fish at the mythril level of the mystic fishing rod and see if that works, otherwise I might remain bottleless forever.

I'm sure it'll work! They wouldn't do stuff like that....

Unless they glitched it...

What makes me wonder is that the mythic rod is supposed to have a better chance of catching rare things like pirate treasure & fossils so it's kind of strange that you can't catch the bottles with it.

so you need youre rod to be upgraded to the blue ore?

At minimum to the blue ore ^^ that's the mythril level

it's fairly easy to get the bottle once you have the right expantion for the fishing rod...
