Avatar problem

Ok, I made an avatar, but its a bitmap. I want it to be something else that will work on the site. How do i do that exactly

You can change it to a JPEG. Just save it. Where it says 24 Bitmap click on that little arrow next to it and change it to Gif or Jpeg...

Host it on imageshack.us as a bitmap and it will work...

try jamming a knife into you right hand and watching the blood spurt on the key board.
after 5 minutes and two hospital visits hit every button that the blood got at the same time.

if that doesn't make your computer explode. . .try making the picture smaller or using a different source.
