First of all, it's not USB/Cable.Porter wrote:Question!!!!!!!
If I hook my Wii up to the USB/Cable attachment to my Wii, will the Wii then be able to allow my DS WiFi access?
I have no wireless router and I'll be hooking my Wii up to the USB/Cable.
It's a USB to Ethernet adapter. Alternatively USB/LAN. (local area network)
No, it won't work. The Wii's OS is not set up to transmit a connection, and isn't able to act as a switch either. If you want to get your DS and the Wii on there, you need to have either the USB device or a wireless router.
If you don't have a wireless router yet, they're quite innexpensive (good WRT54g routers cost around 30$-50$ and are some of the best if you apply Tomato's firmware) and it'll let you use laptops. If not, well, the USB adapter is good too because you can use it in other places.
EDIT: Actually, I'm not 100% sure... But I don't think they would have set it up that way, it makes the Wii succeptible to attacks much more easily, and it'd have to have its own router functions it it... Not very useful on a console.
